Edna Mazerolle 1916-2003 Edna Mazerolle, 87, of Dieppe, passed away on Sunday, May 25, 2003 at the Moncton Hospital. Born in Jacquet River, she was the daughter of the late John and the late Anastasia (née: Goodine) Dempsey. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, Atholville Legion since 1955, where she held the post of 1st Vice, President and Past President. In 1987, she transferred to the Moncton Legion Branch #6, where she was awarded an honorary presidency and a life long membership. As a member of the Atholville C.W.L., she was awarded a 25 year pin. Mrs. Mazerolle was also a member of the Legion dart team, both in Atholville and Moncton, as well as an avid card player. She also enjoyed TV Bingo and family gatherings. Mrs. Mazerolle is survived by five daughters, Stacey (Fred) Daigle, Susan Mazerolle, both of Dieppe, Marilyn (Ron) Loader of Bramalea, ON, Georgia Boudreau of Rexdale, ON, and Edna Mazerolle of Don Mills, ON; two sons, Glen of Don Mills, ON and Ian (Mavis) of South Esk; one brother, Ivan (Harriet) Dempsey of Jacquet River; two sistersin-law, Phyllis Dempsey of Moncton and Evangeline Mazerolle of Jacquet River; one brother-in-law, Leslie (Orilla) Mazerolle of Moncton; 11 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and also by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, George A. in 1979; two sons, baby Timothy and Jack; one daughter, baby Mary Georgia; six sisters, Margaret, Mabel, Emma, Katie, Estelle and Cecilia; six brothers, Percy, Herbie, Walter, Freddie, Carroll and Willie. Visitation will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, 857-1901, on Wednesday, May 28, 2003, from 2 to 4 and from 7 to 9 pm and also on Thursday from 10 am until time of departure. Funeral Mass will be celebrated from St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church on Thursday, May 29, 2003 at 11 am. Interment in St. Gabriel Parish Cemetery, Jacquet River, NB. It happened quickly and much too soon. On May 24, 2003, a remarkable wife, mother, grandmother and friend, June Rose Landsburg, died at the young age of 72. We can't believe she's gone. June was born in Vancouver and also lived in Halifax, Montreal and Ottawa. She excelled in her career as an administrator and delivered excellence in universities from Ottawa to Hong Kong. Her greatest professional achievements were accomplished while she was President of the Association for Media and Technology in Education in Canada. She gave generously of herself to service organizations, most notably the National Arts Centre Orchestra Association and the Old Forge Community Centre. In August she was recognized for her fifty years in the Beta Sigma Phi sorority. Her contributions on both a professional and social level are too numerous to detail. June will be most remembered for her loving heart and kind ways. She was a master of the simple act of kindness and there are probably few who have not received a Christmas cake, jar of jam, homemade pickles, or plate of muffins. June raced through life and if she didn't do it all, she certainly tried. With her love of travel she managed to see it all except Africa. Our Junie is greatly missed by her husband Don, her children Andrea, Sandra and Mark, her son-in-law Dan, and her grandchildren James, Mackenzie and Mitchell. Junie, there are no words to describe the depth of Don's love for you. His world is forever changed. Gran, the kids are looking for your rainbow. BOUDREAU, Alexander Jean "Alex"-86, Wedgeport, Yarmouth Co., passed away peacefully in Yarmouth Regional Hospital, surrounded by his family, Monday, May 26, 2003. Born June 24, 1916, in Lower Wedgeport, he was a son of the late Nelson and Madeleine (Surette) Boudreau. He was a lobster buyer for the United Maritime Fisheries, and also captained a tuna fishing vessel out of the Maritimes. He was a veteran of the Second World War, having served in Europe. He was an honorary member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 6505, Wedgeport, as well as a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 155, Wedgeport. He was an avid gardener. Surviving are his wife, Mildred; daughter, Janice (John) Pitcher, Porters Lake; grandsons, Michael and Jason; brothers, Dennis (Emerita) Boudreau, Lower Wedgeport; Delbert, Montreal; sister, Annie Pothier, Eastern Passage. He was predeceased by brothers, Clarence, Jerry, Francois, Gerald, George; sister, Mary. Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today with a Legion service at 7:30 p.m. and prayers at 8:30 p.m. and visiting 10 a.m. -12 noon Wednesday, all in H.M. Huskilson's Funeral Home, Wedgeport. Née le 30 mars 1919, elle était fille de feu Germain Breau et de feu Geneviève (Jane) LeBreton. Elle laisse dans le deuil ses belles-soeurs: Elvine (feu Willie) Breau de Sudbury, Gisèle (feu John) Breault d’Azilda Ont. et Anna (feu Ben) Breau de Petit-Rocher; les enfants de ces dernières: Germaine, Clarence (filleul) et Léonel, avec qui elle a demeuré la plus grande partie de sa vie; plusieurs neveux et nièces, dont deux qui étaient spéciales pour elle, Léona (filleule) et Anne-Marie, ainsi que Denis, Arthur, Rita, Louise, Paul et Roger qu’elle considérait comme sa deuxième famille et plusieurs cousins, cousines, amis et amies. Mme Breau était la dernière personne vivante de sa famille immédiate. Une soeur, Olga (Will Sonier); quatre frères: Honoré (en bas âge), Willie, Benoit et John, l’ont précédée dans la tombe. ELSIE MORPHET Elsie Morphet, 84, passed away at her residence at Rainycrest Home for the Aged, 550 Osborne St., Fort Frances, Ont., on Tuesday, May 27, 2003. She was born in Emo, Ont. on Dec. 26, 1918 to the late Mary and Eldridge Littlefield. Elsie received her education in Emo and worked at various jobs there. She married Lloyd Morphet on Sept. 19, 1942, moving to Fort Frances. In 1965, Elsie moved to Hammond, Ind., returning to Fort Frances in 1975. Elsie was predeceased by her husband, Lloyd, on Nov. 6, 1961; her step-father, Tom Simpson, on May 29, 1975; and her mother, Mary Simpson, on June 21, 1978. Next-of-kin survivors are her cousins, Janet and Roy Young of Emo, Ont., and their daughters, Michelle and Gary Somerfield of Thunder Bay, Ont., and Jodi Young of Emo, Ont., Darlene Draper of Emo, Ont., Leona and Bill Johnston and family of Flesherton, Ont., and Gib and Ruby Gillies of Emo, Ont.; two nieces by marriage, Lorraine Moore and Darlene Senskoviz, and families, of Dryden, Ont.; as well as other cousins. Elsie was very active in the Legion Auxiliary. She was very proud of the many pins and certificates she was awarded for her dedicated service and contributions made in various ways. Most notably was her gift of music, which was enjoyed by all. If a piano or organ and Elsie were in the same room, there was bound to be a sing-song. She went to Rainycrest and the CCU at La Verendrye Hospital for many years to entertain the people there. Although she had taken several years of lessons, she played all her music by ear. Elsie was fond of children and liked to spend time with them. She also had a great love for animals and usually had a pet. She will be missed by her family and friends. Funeral services were held Saturday, May 31, 2003 at 2 p.m. from Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances. Rev. Eileen Bragg officiated, with interment in Riverview Cemetery in Fort Frances. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, the Canadian Cancer Society, or a charity of your choice. March 1, 1947 - May 25, 2003. After a two-month struggle with brain cancer, David McLauchlin died peacefully on Sunday at the Montreal Neurological Hospital. David was born in Bancroft, Ontario, to the late Edna and Rev. Bob McLauchlin. David had been CBC Radio News' national reporter from Montreal since 1995. In his twenty-year career as a journalist, he reported from all over the world. In his work and in his life, his compassion, perception, fearlessness, and fairness shone forth, along with his warmth and fun-loving nature, and will remain in the hearts of everyone whose life he touched. He leaves behind his wife Dr. Lynn McLauchlin and his sons Matthew and Theodore; sister and brother-in-law Dianne and Rodger Coons of Hamilton, their children Leslie Crompton and Geoffrey Coons and their young families; his brother and sister-in-law Robert McLauchlin and Lynn Kallies and their daughter Kallie, of Thunder Bay; his parents-in-law Irene Mitchell and George Mitchell of California; and dozens of dear friends. Beloved husband of Lyla Street (nee Heasman) of Gravenhurst. Beloved father to Harvey (the late Freda) Street of Newmarket and Darlene (Erel) Barnes of Gravenhurst. Beloved brother to Harold & Donald both of Willowdale, Bob of Newmarket and Bill of Richmond Hill. Predeceased by his brother Paul of Tottenham.
