(Tony) May 28, 1937 - May 24, 2003 Tony chose this day "Saturday" for passing and ensured himself that the three dearest people in his heart were together at his bedside, wife Pierrette with their deepest loved shared; daughter, Tanya-Elizabeth (Keith Gagnon) who cared for him on a daily basis; daughter by a previous marriage, Ana-Paula Tremblay (Michel) whom he loved very much. Tony treasured his granddaughter, Isabella. Predeceased by his loving mother, Adelaide Santos Torrinha (October 31, 2002) who will comfort him in Heaven. Will sadly be missed by brother, Roberto Torrinha (Fernanda); sisters, Graciete Cabeleira (Artur), Helena Rocha (Antonio) and step-sister, Valentina Gameiro, along with many nieces and nephews; also the Francisco Da Costa family in Montreal who he enjoyed and loved. Was very much loved by his mother-in-law, Gilberte Dugal along with Pierrette's sisters and brother, Jeanette Legault (Rene), Louise McAra (Bob), Lise Macra (Phillippe), Richard Dugal (Michelle), along with many nieces and nephews. Will also be missed by his lifelong friend, Belarmino Martinho (Johanne) and good friend, and co-worker, Jaoquim Guerreiro "Jack" who always made him smile. Pierrette wishes to thank her employers, Janis and Kevin for their full support and compassion. EMILE JOSEPH PELOQUIN It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Emile Joseph Peloquin, 89, on May 26, 2003 in Portland, Ore. He was born July 23, 1914 (to the late Flora and Napoleon Peloquin) in St. Jean de Baptise, Man. The family moved to Fisher Branch, Man. and later to Fort Frances, Ont., where Emile attended the Catholic school and graduated from Fort Frances High School. The Depression came and Emile got a job building Highway 71 to Nestor Falls, Ont. Later, he worked at a lumber camp and sawmill. He joined the Forestry Corp. in August, 1940, building more highways for the troops in England, Holland, Belgium, and Germany. Returning to Canada, he married Gladys Fadden of Rainy River, Ont. on Dec. 15, 1945 at Fort William, Ont., where he worked. They moved to Flin Flon, Man. until they decided to move to Portland, where he worked as a plumber, later becoming an inspector for the county until his retirement. They purchased property in 1971 at Pine Hollow Reservoir, spending the summers there and wintering in Yumas, Ariz. They travelled exclusively in Canada, the U.S.A., and Europe. Emile was the last survivor of the immediate 10 Peloquin children. He leaves to mourn his wife, Gladys (nee Fadden) of 57 years; four children, Maureen Bonfiglio (Claude), Raymond Peloquin (Laura), Penney Peloquin, and Joe Peloquin (fiancée Wendy Carrick); six grandchildren, Lee Bonfiglio, Emile Bonfiglio, and Isabelle, Elizabeth, R.J., and Monique Peloquin; one sister-in-law, Marjorie Bolen; two brothers-in-law, Gerald Fadden (Judy) and William Almers (Laura—deceased); as well a numerous nieces and nephews. Emile has been cremated. Two memorials will be held at Portland and Pine Hollow later this week. Born in San Daniele del Friuli, Udine, Italy, he married Anna (Zuliani) in 1953 in Italy. Renzo came to Sudbury in 1954 from Italy. A Roman Catholic, he belonged to Our Lady of Hope Church. A skilled carpenter, he worked for various local contractors and then he was employed at Laurentian University for 14 years, retiring in 1996. He was a member of the Caruso Club and the Fogolar Furlan Association. He was an avid gardener, accomplished wine maker and keen bocce player. Renzo was devoted to his loving family, especially his granddaughters. He took great pride and interest in their accomplishments and activities.
