MAISONNETTE-À la Villa Beauséjour de Caraquet, le mardi 29 avril 2003, à l’âge de 74 ans, est décédée Bertha Haché, épouse de Médard Haché, domiciliée autrefois à Maisonnette. Elle était fille de feu Alfred Hébert et de feu Anna Albert. Outre son époux, elle laisse dans le deuil deux fils: Steve (Jeannette Arseneault) de Bathurst et Omer (Maria «Adrienne» Gignard) de Saint-Simon; une fille, Gaëtanne (Donat Thériault) d’Anse-Bleue; trois soeurs: Jeannine (Réal Lanteigne) de Caraquet, Marie de Sault-Sainte-Marie et Gisèle d’Edmonton, Alberta; trois frères: Omer (Evelyne Hébert) de Northwich, Conn., Will (Valéda Thériault) et Arthur, tous deux de Caraquet, ainsi que cinq petits-enfants et sept arrière-petits-enfants. Deux soeurs: Laura et Eda, ainsi que trois frères: Alphonse, Léo et Eddy, l’ont précédée dans la tombe. La dépouille mortelle ne sera pas exposée. Les funérailles auront lieu en l’église Saint-Théophile de Maisonnette, le samedi 3 mai, à 13h30. L’inhumation se fera au cimetière paroissial, plus tard ce printemps. La famille recevra parents et amis à un goûter après les funérailles. La direction des funérailles a été confiée aux soins professionnels de la Maison funéraire LeGresley de Grande-Anse.

Retired External Affairs (1964-1994) Peacefully, with family by his side, on April 30, 2003, at the Elisabeth Bruyere Health Centre. Devoted member of the Mississippi Golf Club and the Hylands Curling Club (seniors division). Survived by his wife and best friend Helen (Lyons) and children Sharon (Ernie Hebert), Geoff (Eileen Grady) and four beautiful granddaughters, Michelle and Nicole Hebert, Kaitlin and Amanda Blenkarn. Also survived by his brother and very good friend, Gord (Betty Ewing). Predeceased by his brother Bob (Mary) and his parents, Norman Richard and Mildred. A visitation will be held on Sunday, May 4, 2003, from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Pinecrest Visitation Centre (2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa). A Celebration of Norm's life will be held on Monday, May 5, 2003, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Richard's Anglican Church (8 Withrow Ave. at Merivale Road, Ottawa). Friends are also invited to meet with family in the church hall following the service. Interment of Ashes will be at Pinecrest Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of choice.

Suddenly in hospital on Tuesday April 29th, 2003 James K. White (Veteran of WWII, R.C.A.F.) at the age of 82. Beloved husband for 57 years of Aileen E. (Pfeifer) White, loved father of Rick (Joan) White of Stittsville, Bill (Sharon) White of Peterborough, Cindy Kirkham of Ottawa, Sue (Greg) Kendrick of Winnipeg and Mary (David) Hann of Perth. Jim will be sadly missed by his 11 grandchildren, sister Eleanor Drake of Toronto and Dot (Paul) Park of Elliot Lake, brother Doug of London, sister-in-law Katie White of Trenton and many nieces and nephews; he was predeceased by his parents Archie and Cordy White, brother Bob White and sister Fern McCoy. Marcoux, Shirley Madge, Published: 05/02/2003 Ottawa, ON Shirley Madge (Rennie) Marcoux 1923-2003 (Veteran WWII) -- Passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family in Ottawa, Ontario on April 23rd, 2003 in her 80th year, Shirley Madge (Rennie) Marcoux, beloved wife of Guy Marcoux (RCMP retired) and daughter of the late Margaret and Alexander Rennie of Abbey, Saskatchewan. Devoted mother of Stewart (Claudette Levesque) of Longueuil, Quebec, Rennie (Guy Gallant) of Ottawa, Ontario, Maureen (RCMP) of White Rock, B.C., and Michel (Julia Burns) of Surrey, B.C. Also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Shaun Andre, Johanie, Nathalie, Nicolas, Brittany and Liam. She also leaves her dear adopted family Juana Laura Garcia (Ayhan Karaceper) and granddaughter Maria. Mourning her passing are brother Jack Rennie of Regina, Sask., sister Lexie (Bert Culham) of Cabri, Sask., sister Cleo-Ann McLeod (Gordon-deceased) of Tigard, Ore. and many dear nieces and nephews. She is also survived by in-laws Therese (Real Verreault), Claude (Therese Gagnon), Yvon (Andree Gauthier), late Ghislain (Pierrette Gagnon), Monique, Renee (Wayne Wright), Alain (Louise Godin), late Denis (Francine Potvin). Shirley was a high school teacher in many communities across Canada (Biggar, Sask., Campbellton, N.B., Whitehorse, Yukon and Laval, Que.) for a number of years. She also served overseas as a wireless operator in the C.W.A.C. during the Second World War. She was awarded the Defense medal; the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal; and the War Medal of 1939-45. She was also decorated with the Order of St. John of Jerusalem for her many years of volunteer service as a First Aid Instructor. A Visitation was help Saturday,April 26, in Ottawa. The funeral service will take place in Regina at the R.C.M.P. Chapel on Monday, May 19 at 2:00 p.m. with Chaplain Allan Higgs officiating. Interment will follow at the R.C.M.P. Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimers Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation. May God wrap His loving arms around our precious Shirley. We know she has been welcomed to her Eternal Home.

Reta May Huck Of Gananoque entered into rest at Kingston General Hospital on April 14, 2003 after a long and courageous battle with Breast Cancer. Reta was born in Rear and Leeds and Lansdowne on January 28, 1937. She was the daughter of James Gilber t and his wife the former Birdie Cross. Reta married Robert (Bob) Huck on May 7, 1955 at Christ United Church in Gananoque. After 44 years of marriage Bob passed away on June 3rd, 1999. After her husbands death she re-located to Gananoque where she r emained until she passed away. Reta enjoyed redecorating, entertaining friends and family and spending numerous hours gardening. As a young girl Reta worked in the family business, later on she worked at OSP (Collins & Aikman) then at L.C.B.O. until retirement. She is survived by her daughter Caroline and husband Barry Cross, son Stephen Huck and his partner Debbi Barfoot, 3 grandchildren Julie and Bradley Cross and Cohen Huck along with 2 step grandchildren Christopher and David Barfoot. She is survived by 7 brothers and 3 sisters, William Gilbert and his wife Shiela of Gananoque, David and wife Shirley of Gananoque, Stanley and wife Linda of Lyndhurst, Bessie and husband Stan Davis of Lansdowne, James Jr. and wife Lucy of Gananoque, Helen and husband Dave Wheeler of Lansdowne, Larry and wife Lyn of Lansdowne, Garry and wife Brenda of Gananoque, Joyce Gilbert of Lyndhurst and Jack and wife Brenda of Gananoque. She is predeceased by her husband Bob, her parents James and Birdie Gilbert and a nephew Edward Huck II. Passed away peacefully at home in Sooke, B.C. April 26, 2003. Predeceased by her husband, Ralf Holfield (1969); she is survived by her daughter, Ina Marlow (Jerry) and sons, Ingo (Connie) Holfield and Lutz (Julie) Holfield. Edith was a fiercely independent, curious and generous woman who spoke her mind and was loved by all who knew her. She belonged to the Sooke Garden Club, volunteered with Meals on Wheels, experimented with Yoga and loved to explore Vancouver Island in her Honda Civic. She lived life on her terms and hated fuss. Of Victoria, formerly of Ottawa, passed away suddenly but peacefully on April 26, 2003. Born in Lethbridge, Alberta on June 14, 1914. Predeceased by her husband Fred. She is survived by her loving daughter, Maureen; grandson, Michael (Eva) Mooers; granddaughters, Deborah Mooers, Erin (Jeff) Monahan; great-granddaughter, Tiffany; great-grandsons, Andrew, Tyler and Nicholas; sister-in-law, Patricia Leahy of Victoria, and brother-in-law, John Jones of Vancouver. Also many nieces and nephews. Agnes loved to cruise, dance and travel. She enjoyed many trips abroad and through Canada and the US with Fred. Alexandra was born on April 20, 1917, in Shanghai, where her father was a senior official in the Chinese Maritime Customs. She was educated in England at St. Swithen's School, Winchester and at St. Hugh's College, Oxford (M.A. in History). In 1945 she married James F. Grandy, who survives her, as do her children, David, John and his wife Meg Salter, Kathie and her husband Richard Getz; and their granddaughters Jodie and Carly Getz and Jackie and Claire Grandy. SCHRIML, Bertha M. (nee Fleischhacker) In loving memory of Bertha M. Schriml (nee Fleischhacker), 86 years, of Sudbury, who passed away Thursday morning, May 1st, 2003 at the Sudbury Regional Hospital - St. Joseph's Health Centre. Born in Pilger, Saskatchewan, she married Tony Schriml. Prior to moving to Sudbury, Bertha was a longtime Lively resident, and had been a member of St. Pius X Church and the parish CWL. Always an active person, she was a talented sewer producing beautiful crosstitch and embroidery items. She was an excellent baker and took great pride in her home and family. She will be remembered as a devoted and loving mother and grandmother taking great joy in watching her grandchildren grow up and achieve their individual successes. Bertha had a unique sense of humour, an inspired faith and a strong personal integrity. Bertha was always quick to help others and the light of her life will be cherished by all who knew her. Janet Pelletier suddenly passed away in Edmonton on April 29, 2003 at the age of 49. Janet was born on January 5, 1954 in Prince Albert and was raised on a farm in the Bellevue area. After completing her grade twelve education, Janet took a business administration course and worked in banking and accounting for many years. She married Gerald St. Pierre and had three children, twins girls and a son. Janet's nurturing spirit always drew her to child care and whenever possible, she operated a home daycare center. The last year she especially enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren at her daycare in Peace River. She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Anne (Cory Moreside) and grandson Noah, Suzanne (Chris Hills) and grand-daughter Myah, from Peace River, AB; and her son, Roger St. Pierre (Tammy Therres) from Saskatoon; her mother, Aline Pelletier from Bellevue; two brothers, Denis Pelletier (Margaret) Saskatoon, Gus (Connie) Meaford, ON; four sisters, Celine Doderai (Louis) Prince Albert, Cheryl Pilon, Saskatoon; Rita Denis (Jean-Pierre) Domremy; and her twin; Colette Denis (Daniel) Domremy. EDSON, Alberta - À l’Hôpital d’Edson, le mardi 29 avril 2003, à l’âge de 79 ans, est décédé après une lutte contre le cancer Livain Gallien, domicilié à Edson, mais autrefois de Caraquet. Il était fils de feu Basile Gallien et de feu Hélène Lanteigne. Outre sa conjointe, il laisse dans le deuil ses enfants: Patricia Helen, Johane, Diana et Lindsay, tous d’Edson; deux soeurs: Jeanne Danford de Sudbury, Ont. et Maria Landry (Donat Haché) de Grande-Anse; un frère, Jean Eudes (Anne-Marie) de Montréal; trois belles-soeurs: Léonie (feu Simon Gallien) et Jeanne (feu Abraham Gallien), toutes deux de Caraquet et Angèle (feu Léonce Gallien) de Bathurst, ainsi que 14 petits-enfants, quatre arrière-petits-enfants et plusieurs neveux et nièces. M. Gallien était vétéran de la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Les funérailles auront lieu le vendredi 2 mai, à 11h, à Edson, Alberta.

LANE, Anne Marie March 24, 1915-April 30, 2003 Mrs. Anne Marie Lane of Fallis, Alberta passed away at the age of 88 years. Anne will be sadly missed by her loving husband of 31 years, Austin; one son, Joe (Annette) Brochu of Sherwood Park; two daughters, Jean (Robert) Lefebvre of Traverse City, Michigan and Joan (Richard) Shillington of Calgary; 13 grandchildren, Bryan (Susan), Renee (John), Michele (Lisa), Chantal (Michael), Lise, Bonnie (Warren), Colleen (Bill), Jim, Stacey, Laura, Julie (Anthony), Heather and David; three great-grandchildren, Joshua, Ethan and Ellen; one daughter-in-law, Carol Brochu of Spruce Grove; two brothers, Clarence and Walter Brauer; one sister, Grace Faragini; one step-son, David (Millie) Lane and one step-daughter, Catherine (David) Morin as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Anne was predeceased by her parents; one son, John; one sister, Jewel; and two brothers, John and Albert.
