WILSON, Mary Catherine (nee Serpell) In loving memory of Mary Catherine Wilson (nee Serpell), 56 years, of Sudbury, who passed away suddenly Sunday, February 16th, 2003 at her residence. Born in Sudbury she grew up in the local outlying INCO towns including Creighton, Murray Mine, Garson and Levack. She married Glen Wilson in 1975 in Sudbury. Prior to the birth of her daughters she worked in a medical office. A Roman Catholic she belonged to Holy Redeemer Church. She was a gifted cook who was a true connaisseur of excellent cuisine. Although she kept her recipes "Top Secret" Mary Catherine was happiest hosting family dinners and gatherings. She was a friend and caregiver to numerous children over the years who were very precious to her heart. Mary Catherine was loved by everyone; missed by all; forgotten by none. She will be remembered as a caring, loving, understanding, warm hearted and patient wife and mother who was everything to her family. Beloved wife of Glen Wilson of Sudbury. Loving mother of Melissa (friend Denis) and Meaghan both at home. Cherished daughter of Mary (Hennessy) Serpell of Sudbury and the late Roy Serpell predeceased. LONGTIN, Myrtle Elizabeth Myrtle Longtin, resident of Berwyn, Alberta passed away at the Sutherland Nursing Home, Peace River on February 16, 2003, at the age of 83 years. She is survived by her son, Ron Longtin and daughter-in-law, Lynn of Berwyn; daughter, Kay Iseke and son-in-law, David of St. Albert; sister, Irma Morden of Westlock; grandsons, Greg Doll of Edmonton, Garret Doll (Lisa) of Beijing, China, Stacey Doll (Susan) of St. Albert, Michael Longtin of Berwyn, Daniel Longtin (Christine) of Grande Prairie; granddaughter, Nicole Manson (Neil) of St. Albert; great-grandchildren, Jenna, Keira and Makayla of Edmonton, Birkley and Tanner Doll of Beijing, China, Keegan Doll of St. Albert, Jaydan and Chloe Manson of St. Albert, Brandon Somerville of Beaverlodge. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank Longtin; parents, Martha and Harry Kramer; and sister, Eleanor Thompson. SYLVESTRE, Lucia Passed away peacefully into the presence of her Lord, on February 16, 2003, at the age of 88 yrs. old. Predeceased by her loving husband Raymond and brother Elie. She is deeply loved and will always remain in the hearts of her children and their spouses, Rose-Marie and Chuck, Louise and Madis, George and Rachael, Therese (Teddy), Adrien and Annette, Maurice and Sharon and Bernard. She will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren who were very special to her: Jeffrey, Patrick, Tina, Eric, Julien, Justin, Jules, Maria, Pio, Paolo, Melissa, Andrea, Brent, Melanie, Brandon, Courtland and by her great-grandchild Gaebrielle. Lucia was artistic and creative and she will always be remembered for her sense of humour, kindness, generosity, her grace and hardworking nature. Throughout her life she was sustained by a strong christian faith and a great love of music as an avid pianist. As a young woman, Lucia studied piano and later gave piano lessons from her home. She was the organist for St. Joachim Parish for over 30 years. A devoted wife, loving mother and great-grandmother, she will be missed more than words can express. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses for their care and compassion to Lucia during her stay at the following care facilities: Chez-Nous Lodge, Leamington Hospital. LaChaumiere, Windsor Regional Hospital-Metropolitan Campus and Western Campus (Complex Care), Villa Maria and Hotel Dieu Hospital. Visiting Wednesday, Feb. 19 from 2-5 and 7-9pm. Elle était la fille de feu Jean-Paul Dagenais et de feu Lucienne Larocque. Elle laisse dans le deuil son époux Henri Brunette et ses enfants: Diane (Ron York), Francine (Robert Boileau), Marc (Christine Martel) et Chantal (Todd Cleary). Elle fut prédécédée par sa fille Suzanne. Elle était la grand-mère adorée de Michel, Martin, Sébastien, Mikaël et Mélissa. Lauri will always be remembered for his bright smile and positive attitude. Even during the difficult days of his illness he never complained, inspiring those around him. Lauri possessed a wonderful sense of humour and he generously shared his gift of laughter with all who knew him. His cherished memory will remain forever in our hearts. RONALD (RON) MacGREGOR Ron MacGregor, 69, of 427 Fourth St. W., Fort Frances, Ont., passed away suddenly and peacefully at La Verendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2003. He was born Oct. 7, 1933 in Fort Frances to the late Malcolm and Grace McGregor. Ron attended Robert Moore School and Fort Frances High School. Following high school, he worked for the C.N.R. for many years in various positions from round house to computer clerk. He also worked for the gas company reading meters between Fort Frances and Rainy River, and for a time drove taxi. On June 16, 1973, he was united in marriage to Dorothy Pocock. In past years, Ron curled, and with his wife, Dorothy, organized many C.N. curling bonspiels. He was an associate member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. #29 in Fort Frances, having received his 25-Year Pin. Ron also served as town councillor for one year. His enthusiasm and knowledge in model railroading was quite well-known with other model railroaders in the district. In earlier years, Ron loved watching and coaching Little League baseball, and in later years became a Dukes baseball fan. Ron was an inveterate writer of letters to the editor at the Fort Frances Times, West End Weekly, and International Falls Daily Journal. In recent years, he really enjoyed casino hopping, including a trip to Las Vegas. Ron also loved spending a lot of time at Ken and Joan’s cottage by Sunny Cove Camp on Rainy Lake. Ron is survived by his wife, Dorothy MacGregor of Kenora, Ont.; two brothers, Ken McGregor and wife, Joan, of Winnipeg, Man., and Gordon McGregor of Port Coquitlam, B.C.; one sister, Marietta and husband, Wayne Quigley, of Surrey, B.C.; one uncle, Ronald McGregor of Washington, D.C.; one niece, Janet and husband, John Beddis, of Delta, B.C.; one nephew, Kevin McGregor of Winnipeg, Man., as well as other nieces and nephews. He also is survived by his special friends, Eileen Taylor and Bev Ossachuk, both of International Falls, Mn., and Terry Siewart and Ted Wiebe, both of Winnipeg, Man.; three sisters-in-law, Ellen and husband, Bill Lennix, of Fort Frances, Ont., and their son of Thunder Bay, Ont., Mary Pocock and her two sons of Winnipeg, Man., and Verna Pocock and her families of Fort Frances, Ont.; and many other friends in the community. Friends may visit with family Thursday, Feb. 20, 2003 from 7 until 8 p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances. A memorial service will be held Friday, Feb. 21, 2003 at 2 p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances, with Fr. Wayne McIntosh officiating. Ron’s wish would be that all his family and friends be considered his honourary pallbearers.
