Elle était l'épouse de feu Mathias Laviolette et fille de feu Jérémie Bastien et de feu Laurette Ladouceur. Elle laisse dans le deuil sa fille Lyne (Jocelyn Legault); ses fils: Paul-Émile (Diane Massie) et Marc (Nicole Morin); ses soeurs: Claire (Joseph Pétrin), Gabrielle (feu Donat Crêtes), Gisèle (Claude Clouthier) et Madeleine (feu Jack Cadbois); son demi-frère Rémi Bastien; ses petits-enfants: Paul, Sylvain, Mathieu, Simon, Denis et kim, ainsi que ses arrière-petits-enfants: Patrick et Francis. MME CÉCILE DURIVAGE née Tougas de Casselman, est décédée le 9 août 2002, à l'âge de 93 ans. Elle était la fille de feu Josepha Tougas et de feu Victoria Catonguay et épouse bien-aimée de feu Ernest Durivage. Sutherland, Lorraine B. The family announces with great sorrow the peaceful passing of Lorraine B. Sutherland on Saturday, August 10th, 2002, at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Barrie, Ont. Aged 79. Beloved wife of the late Fred Hovey, and the late Walter Sutherland. Greatly missed by her son Bruce Hovey of Shanty Bay, and her daughter and son-in-law Orian and Alf Hartviksen,her grandchildren Kris and Shelley Hartviksen of Vancouver, her sister Mary Hogarth of Gravenhurst, and sisters-in-law Kay Bruce-Roberton and Sybil Hovey, all of Toronto. Predeceased by her parents Enid Graham and Dr. Lawrence Bruce Robertson, and her brother Allan Bruce-Robertson of Toronto. Lorraine will be fondly remembered by her family and many friends for her "Auntie Mame" independence, flamboyant nature and great generosity. Driven to paint since the age of 7, Lorraine exhibited in numerous galleries, her works now in private collections in North America and Europe. Lorraine served with the R.C.A.F. in Aeronautical Engineering, taught painting, was a member of numerous galleries and benefactor of the McLaren Art Centre of Barrie. Rev. Msgr. John J. Peacefully after a brief illness at Providence Manor, Friday, August 9, 2002. Predeceased by his parents John Francis O'Neill and Mary O'Shaugnhessy, by his brothers: Arnold, Thomas and Henry O'Neill and by his sisters: Eulalia, Sr. Mary O'Neill (Sr. Mary of the Cross) C.S.J. (Pembroke), Mrs. Marguerite O'Neill and Mrs. Rita McEachen. Dearly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Msgr. O'Neill was born and educated in Douglas, Ontario. He was ordained a priest June 15, 1935 for the Pembroke Diocese. He came to the Archdiocese of Kingston to serve first in Trenton and subsequently in Erinsville, Cardinal and Brockville. Over a period of thirty-five years, Msgr. O'Neill was pastor of St. Ann's Church, Merrickville, Holy Name of Mary Church, Marysville, St. John the Apostle Church, Kingston and finally St. Patrick's Church, Napanee, retiring in 1984. He resided in Napanee and moved to Providence Manor in 1997. He was named Prelate of Honour June 24, 1990. He was always interested in Catholic Education, and after much hard work, a new Catholic Elementary School in Napanee was named in his honour. Friends will be received at St. Patrick's Church, 179 West Street, Napanee on Sunday, August 11 from 7-9 p.m. Then on Tuesday, August 13, there will be visitation from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Providence Manor, 275 Sydenham Street, Kingston, with the Vigil Service at 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Mother of Sorrows Chapel, Providence Manor on Wednesday, August 14 at 10:30 a.m. Friends will gather in St. Michael's Church, Douglas, Ontario from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 14, 2002. DUNN, Sally Anne (McNeil) In loving memory of Sally Anne (McNeil) Dunn, 59 years, Friday morning, August 9th, 2002 at the Sudbury Regional Hospital - Laurentian Site, after a long & courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis. Beloved wife of Victor Dunn of Sudbury. Loving mother of Shannon of California and Tonya of Calgary. Dear daughter of Angus and Thelma McNeil both predeceased. It is with great sadness that we announce the untimely passing of Christian Andre Spitzer, beloved son, brother and friend. Christian fought a long and brave battle against caner, passing away on August 9, 2002 at Bruyere Hospital in Ottawa. Christian will be deeply mourned and missed by his mother Evelyn Spitzer and late father Andrew, siblings Nina Spitzer, Andrea Spitzer, Debbie and Farley Cohen, Adrian Spitzer and Laura Zetner, Gabrielle Spitzer and Tom Edge, Odette Spitzer and Brad Fonseca, Gala and Jerry Drolet, girlfriend Joelle Piche, and nieces and nephews Justin, Joshua, Noah, Keiran, Reanne, Ida and her husband Craig and children Hannah and Owan, as well as his close and personal friends, including James Pyzevas and Simone Thibault. Christian was an aeronautical engineer with Bombardier. He had his commercial pilot's license, played guitar and wrote music. All who knew him will miss his wonderful laugh, great energy and zest for life. We wish him eternal peace and happiness. She was born in Sudbury and married Lon Parker in 1938 in Sudbury. A life resident of the Sudbury area she had lived many years in Levack before moving to Dowling. She had been a custodian at St. Stephen’s School. A devout Roman Catholic she had been a founding member of St. Bartholomew’s Church and parish CWL. She took an active interest in the church’s ministries and projects. Jean was devoted to her loving family. Beloved wife of Lon Parker predeceased 1996. Loving mother of Theresa Zamojski (husband Stan) both predeceased, Jean Spilchen (husband Peter) of Renfrew, Jack predeceased 1964, Brian (wife Jo Anne), David (wife Heather) and Lonny (wife Peggy) all of Dowling. "Shelly" Shelswell, 72 years, of Sudbury, who passed away Friday evening, August 9th, 2002 at the Sudbury Regional Hospital - St. Joseph’s Health Centre. He was born in Sudbury and married Joan (McAndrew) in Sudbury in 1956. A life resident of Sudbury Sherwood had been a sampler at INCO retiring in 1991 with 42 years service. Sherwood will be remembered as a quiet man who possessed a great love & commitment to his family especially his grandchildren. He was their greatest supporter and fan taking a keen interest in their activities and accomplishments. He was an avid gardener, who also enjoyed fishing and horseracing. Sherwood spent many happy times at his camp in the Elk Lake area with his devoted wife Joan. Shelly also was a faithful member of the Cardio-Vascular Rehab classes where he enjoyed the friendship and comraderie of the other rehab patients. He will be sadly missed but not forgotten. Norm passed away suddenly at Timmins & District Hospital on Thursday, July 18, 2002 as a result of a motor vehicle accident at the tender age of 56 years. Devoted father of Shelley Callahan of Bolton, Derrick Callahan of South Porcupine, Shawn Callahan of Pembroke and stepdaughter Susan Kepka (husband mark) of Brampton. Sadly missed by his step grandchildren Lauren and Connor Maclean and by many aunts, uncles and cousins. FOURNIER, Albert In loving memory of Albert J. Fournier, 80 years old, of Sudbury, Ontario, who passed away peacefully in his home on Wednesday, august 7th, 2002. Born in Timmins, Ontario in 1922, Albert Fournier worked as a miner, lumberman and tugboat operator before enlisting in the army at the beginning of the second World War. In 1941, he served overseas in the Canadian 1st Regiment and as a "Firefly" tank driver in the South Alberta 22nd Armored Regiment Tank Corp. Honorably discharged after the war, he returned to Timmins where he married his love and companion for life, Madeleine (née Goulet) of Ottawa. He worked as a miner at the McIntyre mine before beginning a career with Canada Post. He worked at various locations throughout Northern Ontario including Timmins, Moosonee, Sault Ste. Marie, Thessalon, Sudbury, Cochrane and finally back to Timmins were he retired as District Area manager after 32 years of service. He was a member of the Timmins Lions Club for many years and served as a Catholic School Board trustee for two terms. During his retirement years, he and his wife moved to Sudbury and resided there until his death. Albert leaves his wife of 55 years, Madeleine, a daughter and son-in-law Roxanne and Richard Caissy of La Baie, Québec, two sons and their wives, Gilles and Jeanne Fournier of Cobourg, Ontario, and André and Annette Fournier of Windsor, Ontario, seven grandchildren, Pascale, Delphine, Sandrine, Alexandre, Nathalie, Yves and Serge, and one great grandchild, Pier-Olivier. He will be fondly remembered as a man of great distinction and a kind and caring father. BEDFORD,John "Jack" (Retired from G.E. Canada, 1991) - Suddenly with his family at his side on Monday, July 29, 2002 at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre, Hospital Drive Site in his 66th year. Jack, loving husband, best friend and sweetheart of Eleanor for 44 years. Devoted and treasured father of Linda Farnham and husband Mark, Cathy Bedford and Heather Pogue and husband Dave. Proud Poppa of Shawn, Adam, Mitchell and Damon. Brother of Gary of Montreal and the late Joyce. Brother-in-law of Claire of Montreal, Roy of Calgary and Marge of Montreal. He will be sadly missed by his niece Debbie, nephews Craig and Todd Bedford and the Powell family. He will also be missed by his faithful companion Holly. Albert Lirette Albert Lirette, 78, of Grant Street, Moncton, passed away Friday August 9, 2002 at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital. Born November 28, 1923 in McDougall Settlement, he was the son of the late Raphael Lirette and Josephine McGraw..A veteran of W.W. 2, he served overseas with North Shore Regiment Co. "A". He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Moncton Branch No. 6 and Dieppe War Veterans Association. Albert was also past Secretary for CUPE School Districts 13 & 15 from where he was employed before his retirement. He is survived by his wife Rebecca (Belliveau) Lirette; two daughters Rose Gordon (John) of Riverview, Murielle Weldon (Wayne) of Moncton; two sons Paul (Ann) and Leo both of Moncton; three sisters Rita Myers (Leo), Yvonne Godin (late Charles) and Jeanne Daigle (Armand) all of Moncton; four grandchildren: Wayne, Shelley, Jenniffer, Melissa, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two infant daughters: Maria and Andrea; two sisters: Virginie Allain, Evangeline Gautreau; three brothers: Alfred, Arthur, Placide and two half-brothers, Philippe and Johnny. Richard Richard 1911-2002 ST.LOUIS DE KENT, NB -Richard Richard, 91, husband of Mélina (Cassie) Richard. passed away after a brief illness, at the Stella Maris Hospital, Ste. Anne de Kent, Friday, August 9, 2002. Born in Bedec, he was the son of the late Joe (Bedec) Richard and Suzzanne (LeBlanc) Richard. Retired, he had been a fisherman and attended the St. Antoine de Padoue Roman Catholic Church, Richibouctou-Village. and was a member of the Richibouctou- Village Golden Age Club. He is survived by Melina, his wife and five daughters, Annette Babineau, Bedec, Alfreda Paillé (Réal), Bedec, Marie-Jeanne Allain (Ronnie), Bedec, Fernande Jaillet (Alderice), St Edouard, Françine Collettte( late Raymond), Dieppe; four sons, Albert(RoseMarie), Ste. Anne de Kent, Maurice(Denise), Ste. Anne de Kent, Jean-Guy (Murielle), St. Maurice, Regis (Nancy, Rexton; 20 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Alderic J. Daigle SAINT JOHN, NB - The death of Mr. Alderic J. Daigle, loving husband of Frenzeda (Mary) (Jean) Daigle of Dominion Court, West Saint John, occurred on Friday, August 9, 2002 at Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on December 23, 1926 in Kent Lake, Kent Co., he was the son of the late Antoine V. and Sarah (Leger) Daigle. He was a 3rd Degree Member of Knights of Columbus Council 6770, a member of Golden Age Club Samuel de Champlain, and Our Lady of Assumption Church. He was employed by Irving Pulp and Paper in the paper room for 30 years. Besides his wife, he is survived by his sisters Mrs. Leonide (Alma) Richard of Buctouche, Mrs. Lionel (Bernadette) LeBlanc of NB, Bertha Saulnier of Richibucto, Mrs. Edward (Aline) Gibbs of Inkerman, Mrs. Henry (Cecile) Pietrazke of Richibucto, and Mrs. Roger (Germaine) Comeau of Aldouane; brothers, Alphonse Daigle of Richibucto, Romeo of Barachois, and Ernest (Stella) Daigle of Ste-Anselme; and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his step son John (Florence) O'Leary of Grand Bay, step daughter Aurelda (Aldoria) Maillet and children of Allainville, step daughter Mabel (Clement) Talbot and children of Chester, NS; and his great friend Millie Martin and family. He was predeceased by sisters, Beatrice, Margueritte; and brothers, Ben, Rene, Gerald and Roger. Albert Rudolph (Rudie) Ridlington, CD CHARLOTTETOWN, PEI - Albert Rudolph (Rudie) Ridlington, CD2, age 79, of St. Catherines, PEI and formerly of Sackville, NB, passed away peacefully on the morning of 02 August, 2002 at the Beach Grove Home, Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. Soldier, husband, father and grandfather; he was born in Quebec City on 21 September, 1922 to Artemus A. Ridlington and Barbara H. Baller. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Winifred Kathleen Brammer, his British war bride; a brother, James, killed in action in the Second World War and a sister, Leonora. He is survived by 2 sons; Roy (Susan) of St. Catherines, PEI and Steve (Susan Kastuk) of Sackville, NB, and six grand-daughters; Dr. Tracy Steinitz (Dr. Dan), Stephanie, Rosalyn, Rebecca, Emily and Julie. He attended Commissioners' High School, Quebec City, PQ before enlisting in the Canadian Army in 1939 for a career that spanned some 34 years until his retirement in 1973. He served as an armourer and was a veteran of overseas service in the Second World War, Korea and with NATO forces in Europe. He served with the Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME) in various postings including service with the 1st Battalion, Royal 22nd Regiment at La Citadelle in Quebec City. He ended his career as a Warrant Officer at the Defence Research Establishment at Canadian Forces Base Valcartier, PQ. He enjoyed his retirement in Sackville, NB, for many years before a move to the beautiful surroundings of rural PEI. A private family committal service will take place in the Sackville, NB, Cemetery in the near future with the assistance of the Reverend Kevin Stockall. If desired, donations may be made to the Beach Grove Home, Charlottetown, PEI or to the V.O.N. Sackville, NB Branch - Palliative Care Volunteer Program.
