Daughter of the late Charles and Anastasia Voldock. Beloved mother of Raymond of Toronto, Edward (Marie) of Arnprior, Susan Kuehl (Carl) of Killaloe, and Paul (Brenda) of Barry's Bay. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her brother Joe (Anne) Voldock, daughter-in-law Elizabeth, sisters-in-law Julia Lorbetskie, Marge Voldock, and Theresa Stamplecoskie, and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Predeceased by her brothers Edmund and Don. Visitation at O'Reilly Funeral Home, Barry's Bay, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and after 9:00 a.m. Tuesday. The family of Barbara Meiklejohn (nee Eason) is sad to announce her death on June 7, 2002, at Victoria General Hospital at the age of 87. Barbara was born in Saltash, Cornwall, England in 1914 and emigrated to Canada in 1936. Except for the period of the Second World War, she lived from that time on in Canada, in Ottawa until 1965 and in Victoria since then. She was trained in dance and drama and taught drama at Elmwood School, Ottawa, the Ottawa Little Theatre and Norfolk House in Victoria. She was also involved for much of her adult life in amateur theatre at the Ottawa Little Theatre and with several companies in Victoria, along with her husband, Michael, who predeceased her in 1989. She is survived by her daughter Julia (and husband Colin Hodgetts) of Hartland, Devon, England and son Christopher (and wife Belle) of Winnipeg; grandchildren Andrew, Claire and Laura Meiklejohn and Catherine Hodgetts and great-grandchildren Jacob and Amylea Meiklejohn. Many thanks to the staff of Craigdarroch Care Home where Barbara had lived since May 2000, to the many friends who supported Barbara at Craigdarroch, to Mary Green and the staff of Marycare Support Services and to Dr. Jane Wright and to the staff of 6C North at Victoria General who provided care and deep compassion in the last week of her life. Funeral arrangements were handled by McCall Bros. of Victoria. Cremation was occurred. A Memorial Service will be held at the Church of St. John the Divine in Victoria on Thursday, June 20, at 2 p.m., the Rev. Karen Fast officiating. Flowers are gratefully declined. Roger was a great outdoorsman enjoying fishing and hunting. He was a member of "Club d’Age d’Or" St. Charles member of the Sudbury Power Squadron and also member of the Rod and Gun Club of St. Charles. Roger also enjoyed working with small engines and puttering around the house. Mr. Champagne worked for INCO, retiring in 1999 after 32 years service. Elizabeth Freudenberger Elizabeth Freudenberger, 91, of Rainycrest Home for the Aged, 550 Osborne St., Fort Frances, Ont., passed away at her residence Friday, June 14, 2002. She was born March 4, 1911 in Kislod, Hungary to the late Andrew and Teresia Pinter. Elizabeth immigrated to Canada in October, 1951 and settled in Stratton, Ont. She had worked at the CN Hotel in Rainy River, Ont. for several years. She later moved to Fort Frances, where she had lived since. She was a member of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church and the Catholic Women’s League, and also was a member of the senior citizens’ club in Fort Frances. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and sewing. Elizabeth was united in marriage Oct. 10, 1955 to Erich Freudenberger, who predeceased her Oct. 25, 1979. She also was predeceased by her first husband, Johann Masori in 1939; infant son, Lawrence; two sisters, Anna, who passed away in Kislod, Hungary, and Veronica, who passed away in East Germany; brother, Rudolf, who passed away in Kislod, Hungary; and her brother-in-law, Tony Marosi. She is survived by one daughter, Frances (Wenzel) Kepes of Fort Frances, Ont.; three grandchildren, Betty (Monroe) Plumridge of Fort Frances, Ont., and John (Angela) Kepes and Robert (Suzanne) Kepes, all of Thunder Bay, Ont.; two great-grandchildren, Kevin Plumridge and Mark Kepes, both Thunder Bay, Ont.; as well as nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 18, 2002 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church. Fr. Eugene Whyte O.M.I. will officiate, with interment in Holy Cross Cemetery in Fort Frances. Loving mother of Huguette Girard (husband Claude predeceased) of Sturgeon Falls, Colette Carrière (husband Gaston predeceased) of Noëlville, Valeda Brunet (husband Hector) of Gatineau Québec and Michel (wife Gail) of Pickering. Dear sister of Reverend Sister Eva Rancourt, S.C.O. and Reverend Sister Valeda Rancourt, S.C.O. both of Ottawa, Rhea Tremblay (husband Noël) of Espanola. Predeceased by her brothers and sisters, Edmond, Valentine (husband Albert Venne), Rodolphe, Victor (wife Marie-Ange predeceased), Florida Poirier (husband David), Alphonse, Alice Beaulieu (husband Eugene), Gelinas (wife Yvonne). Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her 10 grandchildren, Luc, Carole, Denis, Alain, Sylvie, Michel, Raymond, Jason, Marc and Bryan and by her 10 great-grandchildren. KALLONEN, "John" Jouni Antton In loving memory of "John" Jouni Antton Kallonen, 69 years of Cambridge who passed away Friday afternoon, June 14th, 2002 at the Cambridge Memorial Hospital. He was born in Koivisto Finland and married Doreen (McCann) in Sudbury in 1958. John came to Sudbury in 1957 moving to Cambridge in 2000. He was a mechanic at INCO, CIL and Power Tel Utilities retiring in 1982 with 36 years service. John had been a faithful member of Glad Tidings Tabernacle actively participating in the church’s ministry and fellowship; when he moved to Cambridge he continued his worship & service to the Lord at Calvary Pentecostal Church. He was also an active volunteer at St. Luke’s Place in Cambridge. Beloved husband of Doreen (McCann) Kallonen of Cambridge. Loving father of Bob (wife Kendra) of Cambridge, Eliza (husband Pastor Ralph Willan) of Kitchener, and Frank (wife Anne Marie) of Sudbury. ARSENAULT, Carroll (Carl) Reginald In loving memory of Carroll (Carl) Reginald Arsenault, 78 years, who passed away peacefully Friday afternoon, June 14th, 2002 at the Sudbury Regional Hospital - Laurentian Site. Carl was born in 1923 at Parsboro, Nova Scotia. He enjoyed life to the fullest, spending his time in the outdoors, boating, fishing and hunting. Carl was a veteran of W.W.II having served throughout Europe with the Royal Canadian Armed Forces, reaching the rank of Captain. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Carl enjoyed spending time at the Vermillion Lake Marina with his friends. He was a gentle, kind man who was loved by all who knew him. Even during his failing health he was quick to greet you with a cheery hello and warm smile. His family feel blessed to have had him in their lives and to have shared many good times together. Carl enjoyed his family and he leaves them a rich legacy of love and happy memories to cherish.
