Miss Marie Clarke passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2002. She was born in London, Ontario on June 23, 1916. A resident of Starwood/Extendicare Nursing Home and formerly a resident of Thorncliffe Place Retirement Home. She is predeceased by her parents Marie and Andrew Clarke and her two brothers. Marie was a veteran who served overseas as a police matron in WWII. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, June 18 at 4 p.m. at the Pinecrest Cemetery Chapel (2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa). Marie, Thomas (wife Patsy) of Toronto, Rudy (wife Madeleine) of Richmond Hill, Joseph "Joe" (wife Jeanne) of London, Hubert of Etobicoke and Elizabeth "Betty" Séguin (husband Arthur predeceased), friend Ransom O’Malley predeceased) of Sudbury and Gerry "Gédéon" (wife Lori) of Edmonton, Alberta. Predeceased by his brothers and sisters, Rosanna Gauthier (husband George predeceased, husband Eddie Hamel predeceased), Leone Thibeault (husband René of Cobourg), Georges (wife Marie of Ansonville), André and Marie. Euclide Doucette was a devoted retired employee of Canadian Pacific Railways, with 25 years of service. He loved people and traveled throughout Canada and the U.S.A. Euclide was a member of the St. Jean de Brébeuf parish, where he loved to sing at services and in his youth, served as an alter boy. He also enjoyed his daily walk. He was predeceased by parents, Frederick and Caroline, siblings, Elsie, William, Dora, Albert, Lillian, Leonard, Hilda, and Miriam. Beloved husband of Ruby. Loving father of Lt. Colonels Mervin (Mary Belle), Sharon (Eric Dean). Cherished grandfather of Linda (Steven Leigh), Bill (Jan), Todd (Kathy) Heather, and Bram. Great-grandchildren, Christine, Kate, Tara, Kristopher, Kyle, Mary, Sean, and Kirsten will dearly miss their "Gramps". Arthur was a life long member of The Salvation Army. For many years Arthur was a member of the Woodroffe Temple Band and Songsters. Arthur worked in the Textile Industry for many years, was the Executive Director for the Union Mission for Men, Ottawa and the Kawartha House, Peterborough. For 10 years Arthur was involved in Social Work with The Salvation Army in Clearwater, Florida. He was a proud member of the RCAF Band during WWII touring many European countries ministering to servicemen. Arthur will be greatly missed by his family and his many friends across the country. His influence will continue to live in our hearts. Annie passed away on May 2, 2002, at Riverview Health Centre, Winnipeg, MB, cared for tenderly by the staff of CD2, and with her daughter, Janet, by her side. Annie was born on August 29, 1916, in Belfast, Northern Ireland, the second daughter of Sarah and William Walker. She was educated at Methodist College, Belfast, then studied for a career in the Northern Ireland Civil Service. She was proud to have worked in Stormont Castle during WWII. In 1949 she immigrated to Canada to marry her fiance, William Ernest Knox, who had arrived the previous year. Together they lived in Kimberley, BC, Moose Creek, ON, Sherbrooke, NS, Westville, NS, Paisley, ON, and Fort Coulonge, PQ. Willie was ordained in the Presbyterian Church in 1955, and Annie admirably and wholeheartedly fulfilled her role as Minister's Wife. After his death in 1975, she moved to Ottawa, ON, and spent happy years working in the History Department at Carleton University. In retirement, she enjoyed the company of her friends and family, and remained very active in her church. Mom will be missed and lovingly remembered by her three children, Elizabeth Blanchard and husband Ray of Hull, PQ, Dr. Janet Roberts of Winnipeg, MB, and Dr. John Knox of Espanola, ON; by her seven grandchildren, Celine, Valerie, Loretta, Christal, and Adam Blanchard, and Christopher and Leigh Roberts; by her beloved sister Lily Hood of Northern Ireland; and by her extended family on both sides of the Atlantic. She leaves faithful friends across Canada and around the world. Throughout her life, Mom placed strong faith in a very personal and loving God and Saviour Jesus Christ. Also by three sisters Rita Pilon, Therese Belanger and Jeannine Ouellette. Predeceased by sisters Yvette Desormeaux, Simone McCrystal and brothers Zephirin Potvin and Roger "Peter" Potvin. He is desperately missed by his loving wife of 58 years, Marge, his sons Josh and Stephen, their wives Vivian and Anita, and his daughter Lynn and her husband John. Granddaughters Tara, Helen, Cheryl and Elizabeth were a great comfort in his last days. Ed had a lifelong love of people, from his upbringing in Saskatchewan to his adventurous war service, through his lengthy and distinguished career seeking out and helping Veterans, to his retirement and extensive involvement with the Royal Canadian Air Force Escaping Society. ALBERT, Cyril R. "Cy" In loving memory of Cyril R. "Cy" Albert, 74 years, of Sudbury, who passed away Thursday morning, June 13th, 2002 at the Sudbury Regional Hospital - St. Joseph’s Health Centre. Cy was born and raised in Coniston & lived his life in the Sudbury area. He worked in the Transportation Dept. at INCO retiring in 1982 with 39 1/2 years service. Always a sociable person he generously shared his gift of conversation with all he knew whether bartending at Cassio or meeting a friend at a local coffee shop. An avid fisherman, he spent many happy times at his trailer on Providence Bay. Cy will be remembered as a determined person who lived life to the fullest and with whom you always knew where you stood. He will be missed but not forgotten. Sadly missed by niece Cora, husband Olaf of Greifswald and Peter of Berlin. Very sadly missed by her cat Tippy. Cora came from Germany to Canada in 1954. She became a Librarian and retired from the Sudbury Public Library in 1988. After retirement, Cora travelled extensively and soaked up the culture and language of places she visited. Her favourite places were Greece and Manitoulin Island. Her enjoyment of life came from the Opera Guild, the Weavers and Spinners Guild, reading, swimming, gardening and her family. Emily Marion Jean Boles (nee Elliott) Passed away January 21, 2002 in the Palliative Care Unit of St. Mary’s of the Lake Hospital. Emily was born in Glassville, New Brunswick to the late Aurilla and Frederick Elliot but lived in the Kingston area for the past 49 years. Wife of the late Frank D. Boles (1984), she was employed at the Alcan Research Centre for 34 years performing various secretarial and administrative functions. She retired from her position in Human Resources Administration in 1987. Emily was a member of the Alcan Retirees Club, Order of Eastern Star Chapter 146, various women’s groups and committees within St. Margaret’s Church. Throughout her life, Emily was a "keen" and enthusiastic gardener and spent many hours tending to her home at Churchill Crescent. After retirement, she travelled extensively and enjoyed recounting and sharing memories of her trips with her many family members and friends. Her dog "Scampi" was her pride and joy. She loved shopping, taking bus trips with the seniors, and back yard BBQ’s with her friends. She enjoyed her life to the fullest and is missed by many family, friends and neighbours. Emily is survived by her sisters Mary (Mrs. Herbert Marshall) of Toronto, Ontario; Maude (Mrs. Fred Mooers) of Houlton, Maine; and many loving nieces and nephews from Northwest Territories, Ontario, New Brunswick, Maine and New York. She was predeceased by her husband; her sisters, Jessie (Mrs. Lewis Welch) of New Brunswick; Gladys (Mrs. George Forbes) of St. John, New Brunswick; Margaret (Mrs. Roy Boles) of New Brunswick; and her brother Frederick Elliot of New Brunswick. The funeral was held at James Reid Funeral Home Cataraqui Chapel with a Memorial Service and Celebration of Life following cremation. MME JEANNE ST-LOUIS née Beaudoin née à Hull le 15 juin 1912, décédée paisiblement dans les bras de sa fille, le jeudi 13 juin 2002, à l'âge de 89 ans. Elle fut élevée par ses grands-parents aujourd'hui décédés: Elise Doran et Joseph Beaudoin. Elle était l'épouse de feu Israël (Lionel) St-Louis; la fille de feu Raymond Beaudoin et de feu Yvonne Paquette. Elle laisse 2 fils: Gaston (Juliette) et Jean-Guy (Carole) tous deux de Gatineau; 2 filles: Jeannine Dunlop d'Ottawa et Jocelyne Lessard (Guy) de Hawkesbury. Elle fut prédécédée par 2 filles: Paulette (1955) et Raymonde (2001). Elle était la grand-mère bien-aimée de 15 petits-enfants et de 20 arrière-petits-enfants. Elle fut aussi prédécédée par 2 frères: Hervé et Raymond. Elle sera regrettée par sa belle-soeur et amie Marguerite St-Louis Renaud. Elle reposera au: FUNÉRARIUM BEAUCHAMP 105, boul. Gréber Gatineau (Québec) 561-1969 Visites: lundi de 14h à 17h et de 19h à 21h, ainsi que mardi à compter de midi. Funérailles: mardi à 14h, en l'église St-François de Sales, 1, rue Jacques-Cartier, Gatineau; suivi de l'inhumation au cimetière Notre-Dame de Hull. (nee Stockton) Peacefully in her sleep at Bendale Nursing Home in Scarborough, Ontario on June 11th, 2002. Born in CARLYLE, Saskatchewan, August 29, 1910 to parents George White Stockton and Harriet Melvine Chambers, the 7th of 10 children. Predeceased by her husband Jack, professor emeritus of Western's Business School in London, Ontario. Dear mother and mother-in-law to Peter and Meridel and proud, loving grandmother to Desta and Cailan. Margaret was a classy lady with a great laugh and terrific sense of humour. Living at times in Montreal, Ottawa and London, Ontario Margaret enjoyed travelling, curling, entertaining, flower-arranging, playing bridge and being with family and friends. Margaret will be sadly missed by all of her relatives and many friends. At her request a private cremation has taken place.
