On Sunday, May 19, 2002, 2 months before his 79th birthday, Keith left our world to begin his life eternal. For 48 years he was the adored husband and constant companion of Joan (nee Allam, formerly of Montreal) and the devoted son of the late Mildred and Ernest Bradley of Mansonville, Quebec. Keith earned an undergraduate degree in Agriculture from McDonald College of McGill University and a graduate degree in Extension Education from the University of Vermont. His career focussed in the area of public participation and community development, first in Quebec, then in Vermont and later with the Public Service of Canada. Passionate about his forebearers, United Empire Loyalists, Keith loved the land. This connection was reflected in the grounds of his home and in his principal hobbies of woodworking and photography. His loving "family" and friends will long remember his wisdom, his unfailing support, his quiet humour and his generosity of spirit. Cremation has taken place. (nee Marshall) Of Gagetown, NB, passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2002 at the Oromocto Public Hospital following a lengthy illness. Allison was born in Ottawa on August 26, 1936 and earned her nursing degree at the Kingston General Hospital. She began her medical career in Ottawa and later worked as an operating room nurse in Miramichi and at the Oromocto Public Hospital. She was clerk of the Village of Gagetown for 13 years. She was active for many years in the Girl Guides of Canada providing leadership for many young women. In recognition of her devoted service, the National Council of Girl Guides of Canada - Guides du Canada awarded Allison with an Honorary Life Membership in April of 2000. Allison is survived by her brothers Gordon (Ann) of Ottawa and Stewart of Montreal, sister Elaine MacNabb (Bruce) of Ottawa and several nieces and nephews in Ottawa and Fredericton. She was predeceased by her husband, Roy Blair of Gagetown and her parents Christiana and Wilfrid Marshall. Interment will be on Wednesday at 3 p.m. in the Blair Family Plot at the Riverside Cemetery, Miramichi. There will be a memorial service and reception at St. John's Anglican Church in Gagetown on Saturday, May 25, at 3 p.m. If desired, donations may be made in Allison's name to the Oromocto Hospital or to the Girl Guides of Canada, Oromocto Gagetown Division, c/o N. Richard B. Kircher The family of Richard “Dick” Kircher sadly announce his passing on Saturday, May 18, 2002. Dick was born Nov. 7, 1930 in Dusseldorf, Germany. He emigrated from Germany to Canada in October, 1951. He married Margaret MacKenzie (Maggie) on March 7, 1953. His first employment in Canada was in Sapawe, Ont. for Nels Pearson Logging Camp. Dick and Fritz Silver then started the construction company of Silver and Kircher Ltd. in 1956. Their contributions to the landscape of Fort Frances are still apparent today. Upon retirement, Dick’s love of the outdoors and his “Cat” led him to a second career, resulting in a substantial development of the Bear’s Pass area. Dick was predeceased by his son, James, in 1980. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Margaret; his daughter, Patricia Maskerine; son-in-law, Bernie; son, David; three grandchildren, Nathan and Courtney Maskerine, and Ross Kircher; and brother, George, in Germany. A memorial service will be held at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances on Wednesday, May 22, 2002 at 2 p.m. Honourary pallbearers will be Betty and Mihlan Cawston, Maggie and Charlie Tarrant, Judy and Gaston Saunders, Lynn Kehler, and Bonnie Watson. George Anthony Drazenovich It is with great sadness that the family of George Anthony Drazenovich announce his sudden passing on Saturday, May 18, 2002. George was born Aug. 22, 1932 in Nashwauk, Mn. to Anton and Helen Drazenovich. He graduated from Nashwauk High School in 1950, served in the U.S. Air Force Fighter Interceptor Squadron from 1951 until 1955, and completed his under-graduate and post-graduate studies at the University of Minnesota, Duluth. His teaching career took him to Floodwood, Mn., Coleraine, Mn. Merced, Calif., Gilbert and Biwabik, Mn., and in 1966 to Fort Frances High School in Fort Frances, Ont., retiring in 1989. George was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed countless hours of fishing and hunting, and he passed that love to his sons and grandsons. His love and devotion to our Lord brought him to daily mass and recitation of the rosary. George looked forward to those happy times around the coffee table with his buddies at Sister Kennedy Centre. Rainycrest Home for the Aged also held a special place in his heart, and he loved each and every one of them dearly. He was an outspoken advocate for pro-life. When asked what he was doing in his retirement, George’s answer was, “I labour in the Lord’s vineyard. The pay isn’t great, but the benefits are out of this world.” On Aug. 13, 1955, George married June Suomi in Nashwauk, Mn., who survives with six sons, Dan (Lynda) and children, Danny, Marya, Greg, and Lianna of Sault Ste. Marie, Ont., Mike (Dorothy) and children, Sallee, Mila, and Ben of Maple Grove, Mn., Mark (Ann Taylor) of San Diego, Calif., David of San Diego, Calif., George (Lori) and Aila of Thunder Bay, Ont., and Bill (Lisa) and children, Mark, Hannah, and Holly, of Maple Grove, Mn.; one daughter, Mary Ann and children, Christina, Ron, David, Theresa, A.J., and Anthony; and three great-grandchildren, Kailee, William, and Mary, all of Winnipeg, Man. Also surviving are three brothers, Joe (Carol) and John (Gaile) of Hibbing, Mn., and Tom (Mary Clare) of Grand Rapids, Mn.; sister-in-law, Helen Lamprecht (Don) of Virginia, Mn.; brother-in-law, John (Jean) Suomi of Babbitt, Mn.; uncle, Steve Shebly of Walker, Mn.; aunts, Anna Philipps of Hibbing, Mn., and Marion Barta of Pengilly, Mn.; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, Anton in 1960 and Helen in 1993. Mass of the Resurrection will be held Wednesday, May 22, 2002 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Fort Frances. Fr. Eugene Whyte O.M.I. will officiate, with interment in Holy Cross Cemetery in Fort Frances. Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 21, 2002 from 7 until 9 p.m. at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church. Parish prayers will be offered at 7:30 p.m. Pallbearers will be George’s six sons, Dan, Mike, Mark, David, George, and Bill Drazenovich. Honourary pallbearers will be Bob Fryer, Eugene Pierce, Adrian LaFreniere, Ed Domanski, Chris Von Niebelschutz, and Walter Jay Prymak.
