Passed away in Victoria, B.C. on June 15, 2001. Born in Medecine Hat on February 17, 1919, she was raised in Taber, Alberta and is survived by her sister, Mary Hassard, Euless, Texas; niece Kelley (Bob) Mulligan and family, Calgary; nephews Kerry Blacklock and family, Edmonton and Kevin (Freda) Blacklock, Houston, Texas. A graduate of Holy Cross Hospital in Calgary, Margaret served for four years with The Royal Canadian Air Force during World War Two. She obtained her Bachelor of Nursing degree from McGill University and in 1950 joined the hospital staff to teach the nursing students public health. She was appointed Director of Nursing in 1964. She retired in September 1983 from the Montreal Chest Hospital Centre and moved to Victoria in 1988 where she recently resided in Berwick House. The family would like to thank the staff of Berwick House for the kindness and care given to Margaret. A mass celebrating her life was held in Victoria. She is dearly remembered by her daughter Anna and her son-in-law Jerzy Dunski, as well as her son Tadeusz and her daughter-in-law Alicja Maj. She is especially remembered by her granddaughters Ania and Eliza who stood by her till the very end. Also by her grandsons Tomasz and Krzysztof. She leaves family in France and Poland. Loving 'Nanny' of Shelley Badham (Lynus Butler), David Badham (Dale), Don Badham (Linda), Ian Badham (Julie), Doug Bayford (Kerri), Dan Bayford (Cathy Cleary), Tracie Langford (Rick), Tom MacIntyre (Sandra), Jason, Kevin and John Pierce. Beloved sister of Myrtle (the late Harold Grainger) and sister-in-law Grace Wilson. December 22, 1914-June 15, 2001. Today, we lost an angel. My darling wife of fifty-seven years succumbed to pneumonia after a valiant struggle Alexis was born in Sydney, Nova Scotia. She trained as a nurse, and did post graduate work in obstetrics and gynecology at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal. She leaves to mourn, me, her loving husband, Gerry Scallion, her devoted daughters, Maureen of Montreal (George Fajzel), Melissa of Toronto (Brian Lynch), and son Gerry of Vancouver. Her beautiful grandchildren Stephanie, Jeffrey and Alexandra of Vancouver, and Katie and Mickey of Toronto will miss her terribly. Mass will be held at Annunciation Parish, 75 Roosevelt, Town of Mount Royal, on Tuesday, June 19, 2001 at 1 p.m. Donations to St. Mary's Hospital Foundation, 3830 Avenue Lacombe, Montreal, Quebec.
