A kind, loyal and simple soul Hershey passed away on Saturday, June 16 after a long illness. Hershey was the loving and beloved son of Ida and Samuel Sofer, the brother of Seymour Sofer and Rose (nee Sofer) Lightstone. all predeceased. He is survived by his sister-in-law Reisha Sofer, brother in-law Reuben Lightstone, nephews Steven, Susan, Richard, Alec, Leslie, Braha, Leo, Libbi and Sam and their children. Hershey was a devoted Habs and Expos fan whose gentleness reached beyond his disability. B.Com (Queen's) Passed away peacefully on June 16th, 2001 after a brief battle with cancer, in his 78th year. Beloved husband of Ruth (Singleton) and father of Joe of Unionville, Susan (Morbey) of Amherst, N.H., Mary (Prospero) of Vaughan and Tom of Kingston. Grandfather of Andrew, Naomi, Beth, David, Douglas, Peter, Joe, Eddie, Anne-Marie, Andrew, Robert and Spencer. Predeceased by his parents Henry Duncan (Dunc) and Florence (Losee), sister Margaret (Fisher) and brother Joe. Professionally, Hank was Editor and Publisher of the Napanee Post-Express and a statistician at Statistics Canada in Ottawa. He served as a councillor and deputy reeve in Napanee, and as the founding Chairman of the Board of Lennox and Addington Hospital. His many friends remember him for his humour, wisdom, music on the piano, and lifelong determination not to be hindered by the effects of polio. Hans was born in Kattowitz, (Upper Silesia) Germany, May 25, 1910 and worked in Berlin until 1939. He was a survivor of the ship St. Louis. Formerly lumber and building materials manager at M. Edward Gordon Clappison October 02, 1930 - June 15, 2001 At the Forest Heights Nursing Home on June 15, 2001 in his 71st year. Loving father of Michele Clappison and Mike Clappison (Shelley). Caring grandfather of Chantal and Jonah. He will be sadly missed by many brothers, sisters, relatives and friends. Ed was an endless entrepreneur, and an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. # 58, Hamilton. He was trained with the Royal Canadian Airborne and was very proud of his wings. A service of remembrance will be held at the DODSWORTH & BROWN Funeral Home “ROBINSON CHAPEL” (King St., East at Wellington, Hamilton) on Tuesday June 19, 2001 at 2 pm.
