Passed away at the Hamilton General Hospital on April 9, 2001 at age 81. Loved by his devoted wife of 58 years, Jean (Metherall). Grandfather to David (Lori) and great-grandfather to Katlyn and Christopher, born this day. One brother-in-law, Lionel Dauphinee (Daisy) of Halifax. Predeceased by his sister Daisy, and parents Susan and George. A ship designer during WWII in Halifax, Roy moved to Ottawa to assume a Naval Architect position with National Defense. An avid sailor and mean harmonica player, Jean and Roy danced many the night away at the yacht club. He retired to Welland and eventually Port Colborne, with a winter home in Florida for 23 wonderful years. Lavoie & Fils inc. 18, du Foyer Sud St-Pamphile le vendredi 13 avril de 19h à 22h et samedi jour des funérailles à compter de 9h, suivi du service religieux à 11h en l’église de Saint- Pamphile et de là au cimetière Bellevue de Saint-Pamphile. Le défunt laisse dans deuil outre son épouse et ses enfants, ses petitsenfants: Marie-Josée (Mario Leblanc), Sandra (Francis Pelletier), Robin (Tina Desbiens), ses arrière-petits-enfants: Sébastien, Alysson, Jessica et Rébecca; ses soeurs: Annette (feu Elie Vaillancourt), Cécile (feu René Vaillancourt). Il est parti également rejoindre ses frères et soeurs: Amédée, Philippe, Hilaire, Emma et Rolande. Il laisse également dans le deuil ses beauxfrères et ses bellessoeurs de la famille Bourgault: Lucien (Etiennette Deschênes), Gabrielle (feu Patrice Anctil), Louisette (feu Laurent Jean) et feu Albert, André et Marie- Anna; ses filleuls M. Jean-Paul Gamache et M. André Lord et sa filleule Céline Bourgault; ses neveux et nièces, cousins et cousines. Un remerciement spécial au personnel de 3e étage de l’Hôtel-Dieu de Montmagny et à Mme Sylvie Bourgault infirmière au CLSC de Saint- Pamphile. «Le vrai Tombeau des morts, c’est le coeur des vivants» Edouard Herriot.
