(nee Senyk) Slipped away to her restful heaven on Saturday, April 7, 2001. Dedicated and prayerful mama of Nadia Senyk, Sofia Sawka (husband Bohdan) and Lesya Laschuk, all of whom she helped to educate for the careers of their choice through her arduous manual labours. Funny and perohy-providing Babunya of Petrus, Ludmilla, Katie and Damyan; lifelong dear friend of Maria Reshitnyk; predeceased by her husband Pawlo Laschuk and her Senyk sisters and brothers in Nakonechne II, near Lviv in Ukraine where she was born on April 2, 1915. Dedicated countless hours of volunteer time to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and visiting and providing comfort to many sick and disabled Ukrainians, especially baking and delivering Paska baskets to them on Easter Sunday to remember them individually. We remember her running down the street under an umbrella with a large potato stuck on its tip. When it was pointed out, she stared at the potato, snatched it off the umbrella tip, stuck it in her pocket, and kept running off to work. Other times, hair wrapped back Ukrainian style in a kerchief, she would show her Ukrainian dance steps while cooking in the kitchen, recite poetry she learned as a young girl in grammar school, or sing songs of seemingly endless verses. A long-time Flamborough resident, Gerry was predeceased in 1982 by her husband of forty-two years, Lambertus Albers, and by her great-grandson, Samuel Dobbie. Dearly loved mother of Bill and Henny of Cambridge, Mary and Harry Huurman of St. George, Gezina and Gary Pluim of Kitchener and Peter of Rockton. Adored grandmother of twenty grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. Funeral took place in Israel on Friday. Due the advent of passover there will be no shiva. 1926- 2001 À l’Hôpital Général de Québec, le 5 avril 2001, est décédé le père Robert Picard, s.m., à l’âge de 74 ans. Il était né à Saint-Lambert de Lévis le 6 juillet 1926, d’Ernest Picard et d’Angélina Gosselin. Profès dans la Société de Marie à New York le 8 septembre 1948, il fut ordonné prêtre à Château-d’Eau le 2 août 1953. En 1954, il abordait ce qui aurait dû être une longue carrière dans l’enseignement. Il apportait à cette tâche talent, enthousiasme et passion. Mais après neuf ans de professorat dans diverses institutions dont le Petit Séminaire d’Ottawa (1955-56), de G a s p é (1956-58), des Pères Maristes de Sillery (1954-55; 1958- 61), enfin au collège classique de Roberval (1961-63), gravement atteint dans sa santé, il dut accepter d’abord le confinement à un fauteuil roulant, puis la réclusion de sa chambre. En 1969, il entra à l’Hôpital Général de Québec. Pendant plus de 25 ans, il y exerça avec un courage admirable son ministère de prêtre par la célébration de l’eucharistie pour la communauté des malades et par l’accompagnement spirituel auprès de nombreuses personnes qui voyaient en lui un homme à l’esprit clairvoyant et au coeur sage et bon. Pendant toutes ces années, il fut entouré de soins attentionnés de la part des Soeurs A u g u s t ines, notamment de Soeur Marie-Paule Marquis. Elles l’avaient adopté comme un frère. Il laisse dans le deuil, outre ses confrères maristes, sa soeur Jeannine (Gérard Barbeau), Cécile (feu Réal Gosselin); ses beauxfrères: Roland Rémillard et Gaston Vidal; ainsi que de nombreux neveux et nièces. La dépouille sera exposée au salon Lépine Cloutier Ltée 975, Marguerite- B o u r g e o i s le vendredi 6, de 19h à 22h et le samedi à partir de 10h. Les funérailles seront célébrées en l’église Saint-Michel de Sillery, le samedi 7, à 14h.

She will be sadly missed by her children Thomas, Eileen (O'Connell), Patricia (Gordon Stokes), Kevin and Stephen, grandchildren Timothy, Loreen, Erica, Alicia, Leslie and great-grandson Anthony.
