Also survived by his sister Fleur de Mai Fontaine. He will be sadly missed by his many nephews and nieces and friends. (1912-2001). Born November 8, 1912 in Istanbul, passed away at the Jewish General Hospital in Montreal on March 27, 2001. He was a graduate of St. Joseph's French College, Istanbul, and was fluent in many languages. He enjoyed an outstanding philosophy on life. His humour, warmth and kindness will be with us forever. Dearly loved and sadly missed by his wife Sofia Kalfas, his nieces and nephews and many friends. Predeceased by his sister Fannie. Passed away peacefully on March 24, 2001 in Welland, Ontario. Robb will be fondly remembered by many for his kind deeds to others, his love of his family, his service to the Central United Church in Welland, and his strong competitive streak in tennis and bridge, which he played avidly and loved to win with his wife Joyce. Robb was born on December 5, 1933 in Beckenham, England. He emigrated to Canada in 1955 with his first wife, Marlene, whom he met and married while stationed in Bermuda with the British Royal Navy, where he was a top cricket and soccer player. Marlene predeceased Robb in 1975. In addition to his wife Joyce, Robb is survived by his children Matthew and wife Becky Roof; Shelley; Wendi and fiance Cam Haygarth; Andrea and husband Coner Haines; Peter and wife Jane. He is also survived by his stepchildren, Kathy Lavern and Byron Godfry, cousin David Craske, brother John Cutts, brother-in-law Peter Singer and wife Louise, mother-in-law Madelaine (Dee) Overton, and grandchildren Madelaine and Abigaille Cutts, Hanna Cutts and Chad, Marlene and Coner Peter Haines. Robb's family would like to thank all of their friends and extended family in Montreal, Vancouver, Bermuda, Daytona Beach Shores, Florida, England, and Australia for their prayers and wishes during Robb's short illness. The family also expresses their appreciation to Dr's Hurst and Findley, Ms. Solveigh Grey RN with ParaMed, and the staffs at Welland General and Hotel Dieu Hospitals for the exceptional care given to Robb. A memorial service celebrating Robb's life will be held on Saturday, March 31 at 3 p.m. at Central United Church in Welland, followed by a reception in the church hall. 1923-2001. In Montreal on March 24, 2001 at the age of seventy-seven, after a short illness. Marion died suddenly in her home in Montreal. She is survived by her five children (Judy of Ann Arbor, Mary and Mark of Los Angeles, Eric of Belgium and John of Montreal) and her eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She is also survived by her husband Lewis of Vermont. She grew up in Roger City, Michigan and lived there until 1960 when she moved to Port Cartier, Quebec pioneering a new community on the north shore of the St. Lawrence River. In 1970 she moved to Montreal where, after her nest emptied, she graduated from Concordia University. She worked as a journalist, editor and freelance writer and was actively involved in her community, volunteer work and with her close friends up to the time of her death. Consistent with her wishes, a memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 28 at the St. Lambert United Church, 85 Desaulniers Blvd. Donations to either of her favorite charities, Chez Doris (a woman's day shelter), 1430 Chomedey, Montreal, or Amnesty International.
