Ne a Sudbury le 22 aout 1919, Maurice etait le cinquieme des treize enfants de Leo Regimbal et Emma Frappier. Diplome de l'Universite de Sudbury (College du Sacre-Coeur), Maurice obtient son brevet d'enseignant du College d'Education de l'Ontario avec une specialisation en education physique. Membre du Regiment Algonquin, 4e division (1942-1946), il participe a la liberation de la Hollande et complete sa carriere militaire au rang de Major. Maurice epouse Clemence Rivet le 5 aout 1946 et commence sa carriere de professeur et entraineur en education physique a l'ecole secondaire de Kirkland Lake ou il est reconnu parmi les meilleurs formateurs d'athletes du Nord-Ontario. La famille demenage a Sudbury en 1953 ou Maurice est recrute par la nouvelle Universite Laurentienne a titre de Doyen des etudiants et Directeur des sports et est membre fondateur de l'Ecole des Sciences de la sante er de l'education physique. Membre du conseil d'administration de Hockey Canada, president-fondateur de l'Ontario Intercollegiate Athletic Association, et president de l'Union sportive collegiale canadienne, il poursuit sa carriere d'enseignant et directeur du programme de hockey a St. Michael's College High School a Toronto (1979-1984). Maurice prend sa retraite a l'age de 75 ans de son poste de directeur de Franc-O-Forme, organisation qu'il fonda en 1988. With dignity and peace, Patricia Anne Jones (nee Drew) age 76, passed away at home, with her family at her side, on Thursday, March 22, 2001, after a brave few months battling a relentless cancer. Beloved wife of Cdr. Donald S. Jones RCN (Ret'd), devoted mother of her daughter Alison (her partner Michael McLenaghen) and of her son David (his wife Wendy and their daughter Laura). Also survived by her sisters Marion (George Pope) of Calgary, AB, and Carol (Dennis Fleming) of Surrey, BC. Pat was born and educated in Calgary and helped to pave the way for women in radio by producing and hosting her own daily program in Calgary in the early 1940's. That changed in May of 1948 when she married Don and proceeded to England where a most successful career as a Navy wife began. Over 50 years later, her family, her Naval and other friends, her close association with the First Church of Christ Scientist in Ottawa, and her long involvement with the International Club of Ottawa were still the cornerstones of her personal life. Pat was known as a caring and genuine friend to everyone she met. Special thanks to the staffs from St. Elizabeth Health Care, and the Palliative Care Outreach Program. Their dedication, experience and compassion allowed Pat to remain at home, as she wished. A Memorial Service to celebrate Pat's life is being planned for Saturday, April 21, through the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry. A further announcement will follow. At Scarborough General Hospital on March 23, 2001. Aged sixty-four years, Janet Chrenko, beloved wife of Donald and cherished mother of Ron (Stephanie) and Lynda (Craig). Sadly missed by her dearest friend and sister Mary Lovas (John). Proud grandma of Genevieve, Alexandra, Jamison, Brooklynne (Gladysz); Arran, Cody, Melissa and Braden (MacRae); all of whom she lovingly adored. She was also a dear 'Auntie Janet' to Robert, Tom, Wanda, Carolyn and Christopher. A gathering celebrating Janet's life will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 23, 2001 at the Paul O'Connor Funeral Home, 1939 Lawrence Avenue East (between Warden and Pharmacy) followed by a Memorial Service in the Chapel at 11 a.m. In lieu of flower, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated.
