Au Pavillon D. Tétreault des Soeurs Missionnaires de l’Immaculée- Conception, est décédée, le 12 mars 2001, à l’âge de 97 ans et 11 mois, Sr Marguerite Jobin m.i.c., fille de feu M. Albert Jobin et de feu dame Julie Anna Delage. Outre sa famille religieuse elle laisse une soeur Mme Cécile Lortie (Lucien); une belle-soeur Mme Blanche De Léry (Dr Pierre); ainsi que neveux et nièces, cousins, cousines et amis. Elle a été exposée à la maison de SS Missonnaires de l’Immaculée Conception, 100, Place Juge Desnoyer, Pont-Viau, Laval Québec, le 14 mars 2001. At St. Joseph Hospital in Elliot Lake on Sunday, March 18, after a short illness, in his seventy-ninth year. Predeceased by his beloved wife of forty-six years, Beryl Annie McNight. Dear father of Bill (Lorra), Linda (Gary), Janice (deceased) (Scott), Cathy, Nancy, Tim, Beth (Martin). Charlie will be sadly missed by his grandchildren: Vicky, Shannon, Ryan, Jenny, Kelly, Eric, Patrick, Emily and Charlotte. Born in Montreal, Charlie served his country with distinction in the Royal Canadian Air Force during the Second World War (1940-1945). After graduating from Sir George Williams College, he rejoined the RCAF in 1950 with a permanent commission and retired in 1970 with the rank of Flight Lieutenant. Charlie then joined Dufferin Aggregates as a Purchasing Agent, retiring in 1987. He and Beryl moved to Elliot Lake in 1991. At Charlie's request, there will be no funeral services; friends may make a donations in his name to the Longterm Care Bed Fund of St. Joseph Hospital. Former corporate pilot, he worked for Bombardier and several other companies. (nee Dyment) In her 85th year, peacefully, on Tuesday, March 20, 2001 at Eden Manor, Toronto, surrounded by love. Cherished wife of the late Max M. Lamb (1991) for almost 50 years. Dearest and devoted mother of Karen (Rick Betteridge), Doug (Gloria), and Judy (Wayne Page and the late Floyd Hill). Wonderful Nan to the Betteridge grandchildren, Jamey (Josie), Kim (Craig), and Steve (Sheri); the Lamb grandchildren, David (Robin), Geoffey,and Sean; and the Page grandchildren, Matthew and Michael. Very special Great-Nan of Brandon, Max and Mackenzie Betteridge. Fondly remembered by Ashley and Erik Mathisen, and dear sister-in-law of Thais Holmes of Ottawa. Frère Roland Bourassa de la communauté des Frères des Écoles Chrétiennes, est décédé à la Maison Saint- Joseph, Sainte-Foy, le 19 mars 2001, à l’âge de 88 ans et 8 mois. Fils de Napoléon Bourassa et de Marie- Louise Bournival, il naquit à Saint-Étiennedes- Grès, le 20 juillet 1912. Il entra au noviciat des F.É.C., à Sainte- Foy, en 1928. Il se dévouera à l’éducation des jeunes pendant de nombreuses années, d’abord à Port-Alfred (La Baie) et à Québec (Académie et école Saint-Jean-Baptiste), puis à Trois-Rivières à partir de 1945: professeur à l’école Saint- Philippe et à l’Académie De La Salle. Il laisse dans le deuil, outre les membres de sa famille religieuse, sa soeur Jeannette; son frère Léger; deux belles-soeurs, ainsi que des neveux - dont Claude Bourassa, diacre - , nièces, cousins, cousines et amis. Le défunt sera exposé à la Maison Saint-Joseph 2555-B, ch. des Quatre-Bourgeois le mercredi 21 mars de 14h à 17h et de 19h à 21h (prière commune à 19h30). Les funérailles auront lieu en l’église Saint-Jean-Baptiste de La Salle, coin De Chèvremont- Biencourt, Sainte-Foy, le jeudi 22 mars à 14h. Major Douglas G. C.D., RCASC (Ret.) Peacefully on March 18, 2001 at the Ottawa Hospital, Civic Campus, after a brief but difficult struggle. Born May 5, 1927 to William John Arthur (Jack) and Ellen Elizabeth Alice (Nell, nee McDermott) in Esquimalt B.C. Doug was predeceased by his parents and brother Edward (Ted). He is survived by daughter Susan Ellen, granddaughter Ellen Elizabeth and grandson Robert Douglas Jacobson, as well as brother John Francis (Jack) and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and colleagues, too many to mention. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, March 24, 2001 at 2 pm at St. Basil Roman Catholic Church, 940 Rex Ave. Ottawa, followed by a reception for all friends and family at the site of the infamous "Bridge Club", Ramada Hotel Lounge, 111 Cooper St. Ottawa, 4-7 pm.
