Joan served during World War II in England and Northern Ireland with the Womens Auxiliary Air Force (WAAF). Emigrated to Canada in 1954 with her husband and young family. Survived by her husband, Wellwood, two brothers in England: Hugh (Evelyn) Ross and Alan (Jane) Ross. Mother of Robin (Carlyne), Valerie (Robert Otterman), David, deceased 1991 (Janet), Peter (Debbie), Derek (Ingrid). Also ten grandchildren Stephanie (Paul Heins), Shannon (Edward Hendrycks), Andrew Otterman (Michele), Michael, Gillian, Megan, Ryan, Kyle, Rebecca and Maia. Two great-granddaughters, Victoria Hendrycks and Katelyn Heins. Her family expresses sincere thanks to the staff of the Renfrew Victoria Hospital for their loving care and help, especially, the Dialysis and Chronic Care units. (August 20, 1932 - March 1, 2001) The righteous man leads a blameless life, blessed are his children after him. Proverbs 20:7Herman Braunberger, aged 68, died after a 3 year battle with cancer. He was a loyal husband and best friend to Joan, and a loving father to Lois, Karen, Marilyn and Peter. He was brother to Stan, Delphi, Norb, Roy and Bill. He is predeceased by his father and mother Jacob and Caroline (Schalo), and his brothers Virgil and Bob. He leaves thirteen grandchildren. Herman was born in Drumheller, Alberta - where many stories of poverty, adventure and a rich life began. A long and successful career with Canada Post brought Herman and his family to Calgary and then to Ottawa. In retirement he served with missions in Canada, Chile and Pakistan. He was also a great support to his children and grandchildren. He leaves a legacy of a critical and thinking mind and a gracious heart and spirit. We knew we were in his prayers daily, and were honored by his faithful walk with God. Those who survived him will greatly miss his quiet strength and example. Of Bath, Ontario, Montreal and Ottawa. Passed away peacefully at the Glebe Centre at the age of 102 on Saturday, March 3, 2001. He was a loving father to Constance, Barbara and the late Patricia. He was predeceased by his wife Mildred Jardine and his brother Ernest. He is survived by his sister Madeline Jackson. With his very great spirit for life "Hoppy" will be missed by his friends and family; by his sons-in-law, Bruce McFarlane and Noel Rutland; by his five grandchildren, David and Brian McFarlane, Ceri, Catherine and Michael Rutland and their respective spouses; and by his nine great-grandchildren. A Service of Remembrance and reception will be held at St. Matthew's Anglican Church, Glebe Avenue at Bank Street, Ottawa on Saturday, March 10, 2001 at 2 p.m. The family wishes to thank the physicians, nurses and other staff at the Glebe Centre for their loving care. He was the beloved husband of Brenda (Campbell). Dearly loved Dad of Tracy Laird (Scott) of Kingston and Craig of Vernon. Dear brother of Geraldine Collins (Irvin) of Pembroke and Betty Holmes (late Woodrow) of Winchester. He was a very special son-in-law of Dorothy Campbell (late Leo). Doug was like a brother and mentor to Jeanette McDowell (Gordon), Barbara Lewis (Dwyane), Linda Heron (Alex), Leo Campbell (Christine), Andrea Ames (James), Paul Campbell (Andre) and Martin. He was predeceased by his parents, George and Lulu Acres, brothers Lorne and Ross, sister Lillian and his godchild and niece Kristy Dawn McDowell. He will be sadly missed by many niece and nephews.
