(Ross) At Renfrew Victoria Hospital, March 3, 2001. Born in Dublin, Ireland, August 13, 1921. Joan served during World War II in England and Northern Ireland with the Womens Auxiliary Air Force (WAAF). Emigrated to Canada in 1954 with her husband and young family. Survived by her husband, Wellwood, two brothers in England: Hugh (Evelyn) Ross and Alan (Jane) Ross. Mother of Robin (Carlyne), Valerie (Robert Otterman), David, deceased 1991 (Janet), Peter (Debbie), Derek (Ingrid). Also ten grandchildren Stephanie (Paul Heins), Shannon (Edward Hendrycks), Andrew Otterman (Michele), Michael, Gillian, Megan, Ryan, Kyle, Rebecca and Maia. Two great-granddaughters, Victoria Hendrycks and Katelyn Heins. Her family expresses sincere thanks to the staff of the Renfrew Victoria Hospital for their loving care and help, especially, the Dialysis and Chronic Care units. At Joan's request there will be no visitation and she will be cremated and returned to her beloved Nova Scotia. A service in Joan's memory will be held at Parkview Free Methodist Church, 563 King Street, Renfrew at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 8, 2001. those wishing to honour Joan are asked to remember her through the Equipment Fund of Renfrew Victoria Hospital. Peacefully on March 1st, at Kingston General Hospital, Wendell Dorrington Carrothers in his 76th year. Del loved life and fought courageously to overcome unbeatable odds. He leaves his wife and soul mate Mary Jane and their five sons Del, Kerry, Dan, Robin and Mark of whom he was so proud and who, along with their wives, Carolyn, Debbie, Kim, Alice and Melanie, presented him with fifteen grandchildren. Del was a Chemical Engineer with Atomic Energy of Canada, an avid collector of toys, model cars and boats. He loved antiques, cars and canoe trips but his passion was his family.
