Nancy died peacefully in her sleep at her sister Elizabeth's home in Barrie, Ontario. Beloved daughter of Nancy and Douglas Stiles of Toronto. Dear sister of Elizabeth Stiff of Barrie and Ruth Williams (David) of Calgary. Loving aunt of David and Douglas Stiff and James and Elizabeth Williams. Nancy had a distinguished career serving her country in the Foreign Service over the last 29 years. Her career included appointments to The Hague, Havana, London and later as High Commissioner to Sri Lanka and Ambassador to Brazil. In Ottawa, she held many senior positions including Senior Foreign Affairs Co-ordinator for Y2K Preparedness and Director General, Bureau of Assistance for Central/ Eastern Europe. She appreciated greatly the support of the caring staff at Sunnybrook & Women's Hospital. Nancy lived life to the fullest and will be sorely missed by her many friends and relatives. Father Romuald, omi The Congregation of the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate is sorry to announce that Father Romuald Boucher, omi. has died peacefully at his residence - Edifice Deschatelets - Friday, January 19, 2001. he was 79 years old and 11 months. He was born at Danville, QC, on February 6, 1921. He was the son of Omeril Boucher and Demerise Beaulieu. Besides his religious family, he leaves 2 brothers: Gerard (of Shipton) and Louis-Georges (of Asbestos), his sister Helena (of Warwick) and many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. After his secondary and college studies at the University of Ottawa he entered the Oblate Order in 1940. He studied philosophy and theology at Richelieu, QC and at Saint Joseph's Scholasticate in Ottawa, ON. Ordained to the priesthood on February 9, 1947, he was professor of mathematics and prefect of discipline at the High School of the University of Ottawa from 1948-1958 and assistant librarian at the Central Library of the University of Ottawa from 1958-1983. He succeeded Fr. Gaston Carriere omi as Director of the Archives Deschatelets, Ottawa, in 1983 and held that position until his death. He has been a dedicated secretary of the Canadian Catholic Historical Association (french section), editor of "Etudes d'Histoire religieuse" and of "Vie Oblate Life" for many years. He was the archivist during the hearing for the beatification of Mother Elizabeth Bruyere, and notary during the hearing for the canonization of Marguerite D'Youville. The Oblates will receive the family and friends at their residence, Edifice Deschatelets, 175 Main Street, Ottawa, Tuesday, January 23 from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday, January 24 from 9:00 a.m. There will be a prayer service on Tuesday evening at 7:30 p.m. at the same location. The funeral service will beheld at Sacre-Coeur Church, 591 Cumberland Street, Ottawa, on Wednesday, January 24 at 2:00 p.m. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Maison Racine, Robert & Gauthier.
