In hospital at Ottawa while surrounded by loved ones on Friday afternoon, January 19th, 2001 following a 2 year bout with cancer, only 2 days after the death of his beloved wife Jean, who died at Arnprior on Wednesday morning, January 17th, 2001. Richard Loring "Rick" Hopkins of White Lake at the age of 58 years. Dear son of the late Anson and Elizabeth Ann Hopkins and stepson of Mrs. Jean Anderson-Hopkins of Orleans, Ontario. Dearly loved brother of Kenneth Hopkins (Lee) of Mille Isles, Quebec and Judy Devey (Brian) of Orleans, Ontario. Special uncle of Wendy Hopkins (Blake Owen), Robin Devey, Dawn Kenton (Colin) and Dayle Devey. Rick will also be fondly remembered by Jean's family especially her son Bryan Osborne (Hilary) of Kars, Ontario and her daughter Carolynne Floyd (Robert) of Arnprior. Private family visitation will be held at the Pilon Family Funeral Home & Chapel, 50 John Street North, Arnprior on Monday. A private family funeral service will be conducted in St. Anthony's Mausoleum, Capital Memorial Gardens, 3700 Prince of Wales Drive (Highway 16), Nepean on Monday morning, January 22nd, 2001. Rev. On Saturday, January 20, 2001 at the Elisabeth Bruyere Centre Betty passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer. A woman of great strength she will be missed by her family and friends. Betty (nee Bracher) of Ottawa, a Veteran of the R.A.F. and of W.A.A.F. during WWII was 83 years old. Beloved wife of the late Lloyd Logan, dear mother of James (husband of Ann) of Nepean and David (husband of Christine) of Brampton. Loving grandmother of Lianne, Jenna, Laura, Matthew, Patrick and Andrew. Betty is survived by her sister Vera Bracher of London, England. A private family funeral will be held at the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 150 Woodroffe Avenue at Richmond Road on Tuesday, January 23, 2001 at 2 p.m. followed by cremation. L’abbé Métivier est né à St-Louis de Pintendre le 2 janvier 1924. Élève au Collège de Lévis de 1936 à 1944 tout en étant pensionnaire au Patro de Lévis, il poursuit ses études en théologie au Grand Séminaire de Québec de 1944 à 1948. Il sera ordonné prêtre le 20 juin en l’église Notre- Dame-de-la-Paix par Mgr Maurice Roy. L’ a b b é Métivier a répondu généreusement aux attentes pastorales de son évêque en exerçant un ministère de service auprès de toutes les personnes qui lui furent confiées. Vicaire successivement à Ste- Anastasie de 1949 à 1954, à St-Flavien de 1954 à 1964, à St- P a s c a l - d e - M a i z e r e t s de 1964 à 1970, curé de St-Agapit de 1970 à 1981, de St-Benoît Abbé de 1981 à 1992, il prendra sa retraite bien méritée à la Résidence Déziel à Lévis. Dr. Joseph L. Goodman, 69, died on January 6, 2001. He was the son of the late Isaac and Rose Goodman of Avonmore, Ontario. He received his bachelor's degree at Queen's University, Kingston, Ontario and was a graduate of the University of Ottawa Medical School, Class of 1960. He is survived by his wife, Dr. Theodora Goodman, sons Irwin and Ronald (Michelle), grandchildren Christina, Jennifer and Ronald, two sisters, Irene Schwartz (Harry), Sheila Tanner (Morton) and by several nieces and nephews. On January 16, 2001, after a long courage battle with Parkinson's Disease in the Ottawa Civic Hospital in his 82nd year. Dear husband of Mae Green (Gunther, McCall) of Perth, Ontario. Loving father of Michael, David and Elizabeth. Grandfather of Nicola, Camilla and Oliver all of England. Survived by brother Weldon (Jean) and sister Marjorie Robb. Predeceased by brothers Arthur "Bud", Theodore "Ted" and Garfield, and sister Helen Welter. Bill will also be sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great- nephews as well as his step-daughters and step-grandchildren. During W.W. II Bill served in the Royal Canadian Army in England, France and the low countries. Eventually reaching the rank of Captain he was mentioned in despatches. On his return to Canada following demobilization he attended Queens University and graduated as a Chemical Engineer. In death he continued to be of service by donating his brain to Parkinson's Research. A great soul is watching over us. A great man is no longer with us. Esther-Bondin, Lachine le 21 janvier 2001 de 14 à 17 h et de 19 à 21 h 30, célébration de la Parole à 19 h 30. Les funérailles auront lieu en la chapelle de la Maison mère le 22 janvier 2001 à 13 h 30.
