Anna Mae Mackay, 79 Anna Mae Mackay, 415 Wood St. E., Prescott, died Dec. 7, 2000 at Brockville General Hospital. She was 79. Born March 25, 1921 in Prescott, she was the daughter of Fred Wallace and Anna Roney, who predeceased her. She was also predeceased by her husband, William Duncan Mackay, whom she married Aug. 15, 1953 at St. Mark's Rectory in Prescott. Mrs. MacKay is survived by her son John (Kate) Snyder; daughters Terry Ann Snyder and Peggy Arcand; grandchildren Jaunni Snyder, Jason, Nathan and Anna Ashley Arcand and by a sister, Jean Baker. She had worked as a mother and homemaker at home. Visitation was held at the Chris Slater Funeral Home, Prescott, 9 to 10:30 a.m. on Dec. 9, 2000. A mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Mark's Roman Catholic Church Dec. 9 at 11 a.m., with Father J. Appelman officiating. A committal service will be held in the spring at Sandy Hill Cemetery. The pallbearers were Jason, Nathan and Ashley Arcand, Jaunni Snyder, Nikki Jonkman and Heather Huckabone. Donations may be made to the Humane Society of Leeds and Grenville.

John Anderson, 54 John Anderson died suddenly Dec. 30, 2000. He was 54 years old. Mr. Anderson is survived by and will be dearly missed by his wife Norah of 32 years; his son Michael Jesse, mother Beatrice Anderson (nee Martineau); sisters Susan (Fred) Visser and Carole (Laurie) Clifford; as well as many nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Mr. Anderson was predeceased by his father Jack Anderson in 1991. He had volunteered much of his time to many community events, especially minor hockey and amateur boxing. A memorial service was held Friday, Jan. 5, 2001 at 1 p.m. at Hainstock's Funeral Home, 9810-34 Avenue, Edmonton, AB. January 21, 1908 - January 7, 2001 Charlotte died peacefully on Sunday at the end of her 93rd year at the Township of Osgoode Care Centre. Her legacy to all that came in contact with her was her loving, kindly and caring disposition. A widow for the last 34 years, she is loved by her two sons, Charles Edward (Ivy) and John William (Joclyn); 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, her sister Dorothea King of Arizona and her brother Warren Beall of North Carolina. Suddenly after a lengthy illness, at the Ottawa Hospital Civic Campus on Monday, January 8, 2001. Sidonie Edith Marshall (nee Robins) in her 80th year. Beloved wife of J. Lawrence Marshall. Loving mother of Brian (Janet) of Toronto, Robin (Kathleen) of Kentville, N.S. and Susan Moore (Shawn) of Waverly, N.S. Grandmother of Lara Kalins, James Marshall and Heidi Moore and great-grandmother of two. Predeceased by sisters, Doris and Freda. Born and raised in Watrous, Saskatchewan, Sidonie gave much of her time to worthy causes including becoming a young CO of the Watrous Women's Military Reserve in the W.W. II period. While living in the Montreal area of Baie d'Urfe (1946 to 1977) Sidonie joined and later led the I.O.D.E. Chapter and spent most of her weekdays as a volunteer at the Veteran's Hospital in Ste. Annes de Bellvue, where she became head of the group. Upon moving to Ottawa in 1977, her declining health gradually reduced her activity in the volunteer service. Loving father of Deborah (Bonnie Simpson), Rosemary (Dave Fraser) and Margery (Michael Farrell). Devoted grandfather of Luke. Dear brother of Margaret Stinson and the late Donald Leach. Dr. Leach will be sadly missed by many relatives and friends. He graduated from Queen's Medical School in 1943 and served as a Captain in the Army Medical Corps in Britain and Germany. He studied Dermatology in Montreal and practiced that specialty in Ottawa for forty years. Retired Chief of Mining and Metallurgy The Dominion Bureau of Statistics 1946-1974 Quietly in his sleep at the Queensway-Carleton Hospital on Tuesday, January 9, 2001, age 86. Joe was married to Anne (nee Pajaczkowski) who predeceased in 1996. Dear father of Joe Jr. (Kathryn), Rosemary and Ray (Judy LeClair), his grandchildren Carla, David, Andrew, Kyle and his great-grandson Aidan. He also leaves his sister, Stella Obszarny in Mississauga, ON and his brother William Parchello in Hampton, NB and many nieces and nephews. Joe Parchelo was a graduate of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Toronto. During World War II he worked at the Steel Company of Canada. He joined Statistics Canada after the War and served as Chief of Mining and Metallurgy until 1974. In retirement, Joe was an active member of the Poplar Grove Golden Age Golf Club.
