LENNY, Katherine "Kate" Linda (nee Belisle) 1972-2004 Katherine "Kate" Linda Lenny (nee Belisle) of Nanton, Alberta succumbed to injuries from a car accident at Nanton, Alberta on January 8th, 2004 at the age of 31 years. She is survived by her loving husband and fishing partner Greg Lenny of Nanton, her mother Linda Belisle (nee Popowich) of Sudbury and her brother Ralph Belisle of High River, AB. She was predeceased by her father Barry Belisle of Sudbury. Kate is also survived by her Aunt Joan Addison (husband Stan) of Skead, Uncle William Popowich (wife Jean) of Sudbury, Aunt Debbie Comish (husband John) of Sudbury, Uncle Mark Popowich (wife Corleen) of Walden and many cousins. Kate will also be sadly missed by her God-parents Linda Carry and William "Bill" Gregory, both of Sudbury. Kate was born and raised in Sudbury, Ontario. She graduated from Cambrian College in Sudbury with honors and scholarships for further studies in accounting. She received her Certificate for Certified General Accountant in September, 1999. She had worked for KPMG Chartered Accountants in Sudbury before moving to Calgary to complete her studies. Kate married the love of her life Greg Lenny on July 26th, 2003. She was working for Malmberg Muth and Co. in High River at the time of her death. Kate loved the outdoors (fishing and camping) and animals especially her two husky dogs, Jewels and Foxy. She will be sadly missed for her loving smile, strength of character and her dedication to her family, friends and co-workers. Funeral Service in the R.J. DEVEAU (Boudreau), Mary Ann - 77, Halifax, passed away in the VG Site, QEII, Palliative Care. Born in Little Anse, Cape Breton, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Eugenie (Samson) Boudreau. She spent most of her life in Halifax. She was a kind, generous, loving person with a "heart of gold". She will be greatly missed by her husband and family. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Arthur; sisters, Maud (Joe) Bourque, New Glasgow; Lizer Mae Samson, New Brunswick; Hilda (Arthur) Landry, North Sydney; Marina (Helaire) Marchand. ANNA YVONNE "ADAM" SMITH (nee BILODEAU) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a wonderful Mother, Grandmother and Friend. Anna was predeceased by her first husband Karl Adam, father of her children, predeceased by one daughter, Linda and her second husband Louis Smith. Anna is survived by her three remaining children, Ron (Grace) of St. Pierre, MB, Carol (Maurice) of Grande Pointe, MB and Sandra (Jim) of Winnipeg, MB. Lovingly remembered by Daryl, Lisa, Chauntelle, Crystal, Ryan, Chad and Brady as well as six great grandchildren, brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. If there is one thing the family can all agree on it is how strong Mom was. She was a counsellor, a teacher, someone you could depend on and everybody knew that "twinkle" in her eye. The only regret we have is that she left us too soon, but we know that she is with GOD. We would like to thank Pastor Lewis and Chaplin Timothy Fenlon for spending time with Mom and family. It was truly appreciated. Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 19 at the Springs Church, 595 Lagimodiere. LAVIOLETTE, Gillian Mary It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Gillian Laviolette in January of 2004. She leaves to cherish her memory her two loving children Jean-Michel and his wife Fiona and their child Alexandra, as well as daughter Katya and her husband Francois Morrison. Good friends also mourn the loss of their wonderful companion: Cynthia and Jack Fuller and Terry Usher, as well as many others here and in England. Gillian was born in Southport, England on February 20, 1947 and came to Edmonton with her two children in 1976. She had a gentle, loving and generous spirit that shone when she was at work as an intensive care unit nurse at the University of Alberta hospital and, particularly, as the proud parent of two exceptional children. An animal lover, Gillian loved the arts and was an avid outdoor enthusiast, often taking her bike out for hours at a stretch. A celebration of Gillian's life will be held at the All Saints Cathedral, 10035-103rd Street, on Saturday, January 31, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. If friends so desire, and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Edmonton Humane Society, 12251-67 St NW, Edmonton, T5B 1M8 (491-3507).

JAMES "JIM" MATTHEW HOULE It is with great sadness that the family of Jim Houle announces his sudden passing at Ebb & Flow, MB at the age of 66 years. Jim was born at Westbourne, MB on August 6, 1937. He married his wife Mary C. on August 6, 1960 and together they started their family life. Jim was employed in Thompson in the construction industry and after several years, he returned to Ebb & Flow to work with band housing projects. He also worked for C.N.R for a number of years until retirement and was also a bus driver for the Ebb & Flow School. Jim enjoyed spending time outdoors, hunting, trapping and cutting wood. He enjoyed watching hockey and baseball games with his friend David St. Paul. His grandchildren brought him much happiness and joy. He would take them out to eat and just enjoyed spending time with them. Jim had a great sense of humour. He was always laughing and joking. Jim will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Jim was predeceased by his parents, Vital and Maggie Houle; and his brothers, Gary Houle, Gordon Houle and John Gilbert. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 43 years Mary C; his children, Bradley of Ebb & Flow, Wanda (Ivan) Davis of Winnipeg, Shirley (Gerald) Hastings of Ebb & Flow, Brenda (Wayne) Berens of Winnipeg; along with his grandchildren, Pamela, Danielle, Linda, Jennifer, Jaylee, Dylan, Tori; and his special grandson Craig. He is also survived by his brothers, Rufus (Lena) Houle, Willard (Dawn) Houle, Cecil (Audrey) Houle, Harry Houle; and by his sister Delphine (Dave) Rundle; his godchild Carol Flett; along with numerous extended family members and friends. A traditional wake and prayer service was held on Tuesday, February 3, 2004 beginning at 5:00 p.m. from the residence of Mary C. Houle, Ebb & Flow, MB. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 4 at 2:00 p.m. from St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Ebb & Flow. Fr. Dominique Kerbrat will officiate with the interment following in the Ebb & Flow Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be, Ivan Davis, Wayne Berens, Gerald Hastings, Martin Houle, Willard Houle and Cecil Houle. All of Jim's family and friends are to consider themselves as honorary pallbearers. JOMPHE, BERNADETTE - Des funérailles auront lieu le 25 février 2004 à 16 h 15 pour Bernadette Jomphe de Hearst, décédée le 21février à l'âge de 95 ans. Née le 30 octobre 1908 à Lévis au Québec, elle est arrivée dans la région en 1920. Elle a travaillé pendant plusieurs années comme technicienne en radiologie à l'Hôpital Notre-Dame de Hearst avant de prendre sa retraite en 1974. Membre des Filles d'Isabelle, elle était toujours prête à rendre service. On la décrivait comme une personne très joviale qui aimait beaucoup les enfants. C'est le père Réal Veilleux qui célébrera le service funèbre. Elle fut précédée dans la mort par tous ses frères et toutes ses soeurs. Elle laisse dans le deuil trois belles-soeurs : Fernande Samson (Feu Louis) de Hearst, Fernande Samson (feu Adrien) de Wawa et Pauline Samson (feu Albert), ainsi que plusieurs neveux et nièces. On apprécierait des dons au Foyer des Pionniers.

ROLAND EDMOND LUSSIER 1919 - 2004 It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our dear husband, father, grandfather, Mr. Roland Edmond Lussier. Dad was born March 2, 1919. The eldest son of Edmond and Delphine Lussier. Dad married Mom, Agnes (nee Collette) on October 12, 1946. Dad is survived by our dear mother, and children, Donald, Rene, Noella, Richard, Guy, and Bernard. He is also survived by son-in-law Fernand and daughters-in-law, Marguerite, Dianne, Wendy and Nancy. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Margot, David, Robert, Christine, Danielle, Michelle, Patrick, Paul, Mark, Cory, Tyler, Janelle, Kendra and Kaitlin; and great-grandson Matthieu. Dad is also survived by brothers, Emilien, Leo and sister Edmee. He was predeceased by his three brothers, Aurele, Gilles and Roger. Dad served in the Canadian Army from 1942 to 1946 defending Canada's west coast. Upon his release from the army, Mom and Dad started their family and made their living farming in the Ste. Elizabeth, MB area until retiring from farming for 27 years. In 1973, they moved to St. Pierre where Dad drove a school bus until retirement in 1982. Throughout his life, Dad was active in numerous community affairs. Dad will always be remembered as a loving husband and father who never failed in lending a helping hand to friend or stranger. He was greatly admired and respected by family and friends. Cremation has taken place. Prayers commencing at St. Pierre Catholic Church at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 31, followed by a Mass of Resurrection at 2:30 p.m. A special thanks to the staff of St.Pierre Hospital and Home Care. KOOIMAN, Hendrik. Peacefully in his seventy-second year at the Jean Talon hospital, after a brief illness. Survived by his children Janet, Pieter and John, ex-wife Peggie of thirty-two years, daughters-in-law Pauline and veronica, grandchildren Michael, Nathalie, Benjamin, Alisa, Alexander and Jennifer, brother Vincent, sisters Mineke and Annie. Predeceased by grandson Bryant and sister Tineke. Having immigrated from Holland in 1953, Hein attained 2nd class honours in McGill University Law, was called to the bar in 1959 and thereafter pursued a legal career for over forty years. Hein was active in the Dutch community having served as the President of the Montreal Netherlands Association for many years for which he was awarded the Order of Orange Nassau by the Dutch governemnt. Hein will be missed by his family, friends, the Dutch community and colleagues in the legal profession. The family appreciated the assistance provided by Janice McGregor and Pauline Richard in the late years of his life. BETHEL, Frances Josephine, M.D. Peacefully, in hospital after a sudden illness, in her 89th year. Beloved elder daughter of the late Percival Humber and Lilias Josephine Shelton of Regina, Sask. and Montreal, loving wife for 60 years of the late Lt. Col. Vincent Walter Bethel and dear mother of Patricia and Margaret (Mark). Predeceased by her sister Charlotte Althea and an infant sister Lilias. After a first year at Luther College, Regina, she graduated from the University of Saskatchewan, completing the pre-med programme in the old Greenhouse there and continued her studies at the University of Toronto, from which she graduated in the class of 1940. As an Army wife, she spent a peripatetic career in Kingston, Eastern Passage, Ottawa, Montreal, Shrivenham, England and Edinburgh, Scotland. She interned at Women's College Hospital, worked during the war at the Kingston General, in several Montreal hospitals including the Children's Memorial and later in Ottawa at the NDMC, CFB Uplands, the Department of Health and the Ottawa Separate School Board. Former Treasurer and President of the Medical Women's Association of Ottawa, enthusiastic rockhound, member of the WLC and the Canada Korea Society. She had a phenomenal memory, a wicked wit and a passion for travel. BONVICINI, Giuseppa Passed away at the age of 89 with her daughter and son-in-law at her side. She was predeceased by her husband Albino, brothers Antonino, Ferdinando and Giuseppe and sisters Concetta and Maria. Krystina, Melissa, Jessica and Erika were the love of her life and they will greatly miss their "cara nonna". WADSWORTH, Michael A., Q.C. It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Michael A. Wadsworth, Q.C., a football star who parlayed his love of sport and competition into an extraordinarily diverse and distinguished career as a criminal defence lawyer, broadcaster, corporate executive, Canadian diplomat and athletic director at his alma mater, Notre Dame University. Michael died after battling cancer for the second time in the past two years. He was 60. Far beyond his accomplishments on and off the football field, Michael will be remembered for his devotion to his family and in particular to his wife of 38 years, Bernadette, his greatest love and enduring passion. Though large in stature and a fierce competitor, Michael was a gentle, loving soul who possessed tremendous grace and was deeply respected by all who knew him for his strong faith, modesty and unfaltering integrity. He will be missed immeasurably by Bernadette, his daughters Carolan (Brent Lesaux), Mary (Rupert Hamilton) and Jane (Matthew Flynn), and by his grandchildren Madeline, Michael and Brendan Lesaux, Ryan and Michael Hamilton, and Caitlin and Emmett Flynn. Michael leaves behind his mother Catherine, brothers Frank, Peter and Jeffrey and sister Kathy. He was predeceased by his sister Joan. Born to Bernard (Bunny) and Catherine Wadsworth in Ottawa on June 4, 1943, Michael and his family moved to Toronto where he attended De La Salle College. He excelled on the sports field and in the classroom earning him a scholarship to attend Notre Dame University and play football for the legendary Fighting Irish. Michael continued his football career with the Toronto Argonauts while studying law at Osgoode Hall. He entered private practice in 1971 and over the ten years that followed became a highly respected member of the bar. He defended his clients vigorously, representing them at all levels including the Supreme Court of Canada. Throughout this period, Michael worked part time as a journalist and commentator covering Canadian Football League games. Following a decade in the corporate arena, Michael was appointed in 1989 as Canada's ambassador to Ireland where he worked diligently to raise Canada's profile. True to his humble nature, when Michael was asked what he was doing in Ireland he would simply say that he was "working for the Canadian government." In 1995, Michael assumed the role of director of athletics at Notre Dame University. In the next five years, Notre Dame enjoyed the most successful period in athletic competition in its 158 year history. The graduation rate for student athletes was 99 per cent, a statistic of which Michael was extremely proud. Michael had an affinity for young people and loved to learn as well as teach. His life and the way he conducted himself had a profound effect on those around him. He set a shining example, embodying such values as personal excellence, virtuousness, compassion, and devotion to family. For all of his accomplishments perhaps the most remarkable part of Michael's life was his love story with Bernie. The couple met at a Catholic Youth Organization dance in Toronto in the early 1960s. They were married when they were barely out of their teens and Bernie had their first child, Carolan, at age 22. Throughout their lives together, Michael and Bernie remained deeply in love. While they adored spending holidays with their family and friends, their most treasured times were together during one of their many voyages that spanned the globe or spending a lazy Saturday morning resting in bed. They doted on each other constantly and could scarcely manage to spend more than a few hours apart. Last year the couple defied incredible odds when Bernie emerged as the perfect kidney donor for Michael, extending his life and giving them another year together. Michael's legacy will live forever as will his memory in the hearts of those who loved him. The family will receive friends on Thursday April 29th between 7 and 9 p.m. and on Friday April 30th between 2 and 4 p.m. and 7 and 9 p.m. at the Rosar-Morrison Funeral Home, 467 Sherbourne Street, Toronto. Mrs. Mary Lucy Yoell passed away peacefully at Grandview Lodge four daysafter celebrating her 101 birthday. Born May 4, 1903 in Rimouski Quebec, she moved to Fort William as ayoung child. On December 31, 1927 she married Godfrey Yoell in PortArthur and together they moved to Windsor, Ontario in 1942. AfterGodfrey passed away, she returned to Fort William in 1966.
