MILLER, Gertrude (nee Gingras) Born in Leross, Sask. on January 5, 1912, passed away on Saturday, October 31, 2009. Predeceased by her husband of 67 years, Robert (Don) and her son Donald. Lovingly remembered by her children Gary (Penny) and Marion (Joe Lochnan). Wonderful grandmother of Adam (Melanie), Christopher, Patricia (Kevin), Dianna (Frank), Matthew (Julie Ann) and Brennan (Vannessa). Cherished great-grandmother of Emma, Maren, Henry, Clarissa, Evelyn, Percy, Finley and Jack. Her life was spent caring for her family and always finding the good in others. Mum spent the past few years at Billings Lodge and St. Patrick's Home. We will be forever grateful to those who treated her with loving care. JEAN ELIZABETH DOAN It is with love that the family of Jean Doan announces her quiet passing on Thursday, October 29. She will be missed and forever remembered by her son, Robert (Louise), daughters Audrey (Norman) Draper and Shirley (John) Hoffman, five grandsons, Jason (Laura), Jamie (Rebecca), Kevin, Andrew, Darrin, four great granddaughters, and two great grandsons. Jean was predeceased by her husband, Edwin, in 1967. Mom was born in Regina on December 24, 1916 where she lived most of her life. She loved to travel, even if it meant a short trip to the grocery store. Her priority was her family and friends. She loved to bake cookies and would share them with all she knew. The family would like to thank the staff at Sunset Extendicare for the exemplary care given to Jean, particularly in her last days. The family would also like to thank her dear friends for their loving support over the past three years. Dear sister of Giovanni and wife Maria Pozzi; Santino and wife Nickie Pozzi, all of Windsor; Antonietta Pozzi ; and Letizia and husband Giulio Anella, all of Italy. MINIONS , James Robert (Jim) December 19, 1934 - October 31, 2009 Jim died peacefully at his home on October 31, 2009. He is lovingly remembered by his wife of fifty-two years, Donna, his five children, Michael (Anne-Marie), Stephen (Lesa), David (Ruth), Peter (Tara), Leslie (Ian) and his brother John. He will be remembered fondly by his grandchildren Elizabeth, Nikolas, Alex, Adrian, Genevieve, Sarah, Patricia, Christina, Carmanah, Calvin, Willa, and his cherished relatives Ron and Joan. Born in Brandon, MB, Jim grew up in Neepawa. He graduated from Brandon College and had a long career as a geologist with Suncor Energy. Jim played hockey all his life and enjoyed his games with the Brandon College Caps, the Calgary Oldtimers, his sons at Friday Night Hockey and his grandchildren at the Boxing Day Game. He and Donna skated with the Optimist Seniors' Group. An active volunteer, he coached soccer and hockey for the Lakeview community. After retiring, he shared his passion for sports by attending his grandchildren's many hockey and soccer games. Jim was an avid gardener, birder, reader, wine aficionado, and cook. Following Jim's wishes, a private family Memorial will be held. The family would like to extend their thanks to the palliative care team and Dr. Deanna Campbell. Honour Jim's memory by taking a walk, puttering in the garden or playing some hockey with friends. TUNSTALL Troy God Bless Troy, born May 29, 1967 in Edmonton, AB. Passed away October 29, 2009 after a lifetime of struggles. He is at last safely home and at peace. He will be sadly missed by his one true rock, and the forever and unconditional love of Mom (Vi). Loved by his deceased father Ron and brother Leigh. KENNEDY, Jean (nee Tierney) Peacefully On Sunday, November 1st, 2009 in her 90th year. Beloved wife of the late Joseph Kennedy. Loving mother of Pat (Carole) and Dan (Maureen). WOLFE , Willi Evans Our gentle Willi, of St. Andrews, New Brunswick, born on the 21st of March 1943 in Cincinnati, Ohio died of cancer at the Charlotte County Hospital on the 30th of October 2009 surrounded by family who had come from far and wide to be with her as she would have done if they had died first and the roles had been reversed. Her life was marked by her caring and giving nature. She took her mother into her home at Jemseg for the last eighteen months of her life. She spent a year in Chicago looking after her grandmother and a year in Colombia helping her sister Caroline after the birth of her first child. She returned often as the Colombian family grew. She was always there if family - or anyone else - needed her and she was always gracious with a gentle smile on her lips and in her eyes. Hearing her soft tones on the phone wiped the furrows off your brow. In her presence you knew you were valued, be you prince or pauper. She was an accomplished musician, linguist and weaver. She was passionate about the arts and whatever she turned her hand to you knew would be done well. Her word was her bond. She is survived by sisters, Mary Bapst in Geneva, Switzerland, Caroline Villa in Tampa, FL, Anne Lanctot in Bedford, QC, brothers John in Minneapolis, MN, Tom in North Harwich, MA, Nick in Benson, AZ and Ed in Sunapee, NH. By her three stepchildren Jason Wolfe in Vancouver, BC, Rebecca Wolfchild in Belleview, WA, Marius Wolfe in Montreal, QC. By her husband Max in St. Andrews, NB and by a legion of nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. The world is a poorer place for her passing. A Memorial Service will be held at the Wesley United Church in St Andrews on Thursday, November 5, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to Medecins Sans Frontieres.
