O'NEILL (Allan), Jennie Jennie passed away peacefully in St Albert at the age of 92. Jennie is warmly remembered by her six children, Frank Boal (Nina), Ron Boal (Jan), Pat Kinnell (Wayne), Gordon Boal (Anne), David Boal (Julie), and Debbie Hamer (Del); also mourning Jennie's passing are 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Jennie was predeceased by husbands Frank Boal (1967) Les Allan (1982), Ray O'Neill (1999) and daughter-in-law Agnes Boal (1996). Jennie was born in Winnipeg in 1917, the middle child of three Lange sisters. She met her first husband Frank at the age of fourteen and married as a young woman of 19. Over the course of raising her family of six children she lived in Winnipeg, Lethbridge, Calgary and for the last 36 years Jennie has been a resident of St. Albert, the community she most loved. An enthusiastic community participant, she received the St Albert Citizen of the Year Award in 1980 in recognition of her many hours of volunteer service in elder care and veterans affairs. For the past nine years, Jennie was a resident of Mission Hills Village, where she truly enjoyed sharing wonderful times with some of her nearest and dearest friends. There she continued to be an active community participant by leading the choir, maintaining the Jennie O'Neill Rose Garden and chairing a number of committees. We are happy to know that until her last three months she led an independent life filled with the love of friends and family. The family would like to thank the staff and physicians of the Youville Home for their care and compassion. Special thanks to Dr. Leon Lefebrve for his skill and kindness and for including Jennie in every decision during her final journey. The family also thanks Dr. Harvey Albrecht as Jennie's family physician for over 30 years for his continuing support. Jennie's Memorial Service will be held at St Matthews Anglican Church, 125 Larose Drive, St Albert on October 22, at 2:00 p.m. Friends are welcome to join the family at the service as well as at the Celebration of Life which will be held immediately following at Mission Hills Village, 78 McKenney Avenue, St Albert. LUNDMAN, Mary Rowena (nee Shirtliff) Peacefully at the Garry J. Armstrong Home on Saturday, October 10, 2009, at the age of 81. Beloved wife of Edward (Ed) Lundman for 60 years. Mrs. Elsie Elizabeth Pappenfus (nee Sarauer) The death of Mrs. Elsie Elizabeth (nee Sarauer) Pappenfus of Quill Plains Centennial Lodge, Watson, (and formerly of Humboldt and Annaheim), occurred on Thursday, October 15, 2009, at her residence. She was 93 years of age. Elsie will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her son, Harold (Caroline) Pappenfus of St. Brieux; and by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and siblings. The Prayer Service for Elsie will be held on Sunday, October 18, 2009, at 7:30 p.m., and the Funeral Mass will be offered on Monday, October 19, 2009, at 10:00 a.m., celebrated by Fr. Emile April. COOPER _Albert Eddie. In memory of Albert Eddie Cooper, Oct 29, 1919 Oct 18, 1969. It's been 40 years since you left us so suddenly in the prime of your life. Our father served in WWII with the 2nd Canadian Armoured Regiment, Lord Strathcona Horse, he was wounded twice in Italy. Dad worked for Canada Post for nearly 20 years and was a dispatcher at the time of his passing. He loved the outdoors, camping, fishing and hunting, those memories are fondly remembered. The years have gone by but you are not forgotten, always remembered by your sons, Dennis and Rae and our families now 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. John Siemens It is with great sadness that the Siemens family announce the peaceful passing of John on Friday, October 16, 2009 at Elmwood Lodge Saskatoon, SK at the age of 51. John was born on June 28, 1958. He attended John Dolan School and then worked at Cosmopolitan Industries where he received his 31 year pin in 2007. John lived at home till he turned 40. He then went to live at Elmwood Lodge where he has received many years of loving care and friendship. John continued to work at Cosmo Industries till September, 2009 where his symptoms of Parkinson's and Alzheimer's took a toll on his health. John is survived and will be dearly missed by his sisters, Helen (Bert) Smith, MaryLou Siemens, Kathy (Skip) Wake; brothers, Francis (Tena) Bailey, Peter (Dorothy) Siemens; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. John's extended family includes the residents and staff at Elmwood Residence and Cosmopolitan Industries. John was predeceased by his father, Pete in 1995 and his mother, Louise in 2007. The family would like to thank Elmwood Residence staff and Cosmopolitan staff for providing John many years of loving care and friendship. HERWARTH (HENRY) THUMANN February 27, 1930 October 15, 2009 Henry passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 15, 2009 at City Hospital at the age of 79 years. A Prayer service will be held on Sunday, October 18, 2009 at 8:15 p.m. at Holy Spirit Parish. A Funeral mass will take place on Monday, October 19, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Spirit Parish, 114 Kingsmere Place, Saskatoon, SK. Lunch will follow. Henry was born in Germany in 1930. He learned the trade of goldsmithing as a young adult. In 1952 he moved to Canada. He spent many years goldsmithing in Saskatoon. Henry met and married Rita Lacoursiere in 1963 in Saskatoon where they spent 46 years of married life and raised four children. Henry had keen interests in music, cycling, kayaking and photography. He enjoyed singing in Holy Spirit choir. Henry is survived by his loving family: his wife Rita; three daughters: Angela (Kevin) Keswick, Lauretta Thumann (Ken McWhirter), Katherine Thumann (Alan Leugner) and one son Rene Thumann; seven grandchildren: Kimberly, Michelle, Meghan, Dylan, Cara, Christie and Ian. He will be remembered by numerous brother and sisters-in-law; as well as nieces and nephews. EMERY Jeannie Mackay R.N. After a long, and for the most part happy, healthy life, Jeannie passed away in Sechelt on October 14th, at the age of 91. She was born and raised in Medicine Hat, and trained as a nurse in Ottawa. She married Art Emery in 1941. In 1946, after he returned from the war overseas, they settled in Haney (Foodland and E & D Sportshop). Retirement brought them happy times in Indio, California and Bridge Lake, B.C. Jeannie loved the outdoors, swimming, fishing at Bridge Lake, knitting, and garage sales! Her sunny personality and bright yellow jacket will be missed in Sechelt. Jeannie is predeceased by her son Allan, husband Art, sisters Florence Noot and Norma Carswell, and brother Ron Mackay. She loved, and was much loved by, seven grandchildren and their spouses, by her eight great-grandchildren, her daughter Arlene, and son-in-law Lloyd (Sam) Grant. Please, no flowers. In Mom's memory just do a kind deed for someone (pay it forward!). At her request there will be a Memorial party next summer in Sechelt complete with bagpipes. MATHISON Wendy Gale 1960 - 2009 Wendy ended her courageous battle with skin cancer on the morning of October 8th. She will be remembered for her strength, sense of humor and energy. She had an extreme love of the outdoors, which she shared with her daughters and all those close to her. Wendy's summers were spent horseback riding and traveling around North America. An accomplished geologist, she realized a successful career in the mining industry. Wendy will be greatly missed by her three loving daughters, Zoe, Clare and Emily, her partner, David Cooper, along with her family and friends. A memorial service and celebration of Wendy's life will be held at Fraserview Church, 11295 Mellis Drive, Richmond on Monday, October 19th, at 3:00pm. CAMPBELL , Emily S. Campbell (Nee Rasmussen, Sherriff) Emily passed away on October 15, 2009 at the age of 93 years young. Emily is lovingly remembered by her daughter Muriel Langley, and two sons Barry (Lynn) Sherriff and Jim (Shirley) Sherriff, as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. PEROZAK, Ed 2009-10-17 1914 ~ 2009 Ed passed away peacefully at home on October 8, 2009 at the age of 95 years. Ed served with the army in WWII, later he worked at Canada Car and Husky Oil Refinery. He was a chartered member of the Lakehead Search and Rescue and honorary member of the Westfort Prosvita Society. In his younger years he loved to spend time paddling his canoe, exploring the surrounding area. Ed built his own pontoon boat and cruised Lake Weikwabinonaw, Cloud Lake and Shebandowan Lake. Ed is survived by his wife of 67 years Rose, sons Dennis (Rosa) and Larry (Marcia); grandchildren: Jeffrey (Melanie) Perozak, Leanne (Scott) Anderson, Shelly, Michelle and David (Erin) Perozak; great grandchildren: Mikayla and Brittany Anderson and Nicole, Morgan and Lauren Perozak; sisters: Bernice Bryson, Helen Dembicky and Jenny Sobchak, sister-in-law Carol Perozak as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, sisters Anne Low and Louise Ciffarelli, brothers Frank and Martin as well as brothers and sisters-in-law. Cremation has taken place and a casual celebration of Ed’s life will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2009 from 1:00 until 4:00 PM at the Travel Lodge (Airlane). MAH So Me October 19th,1925 to October 10th, 2009 Predeceased by husband Bun Kin Mah in 1969 and son Henry Mah in 2002. Survived by daughter Mary. Born and raised in Toisan, China, So Me immigrated to Canada in 1958 from Hong Kong. She worked as a seamstress, and became a caregiver in the community and with St. Luke's parish in later years. Her greatest loves involved spending time with family and relatives, cooking, gardening, and attending aquafit classes at Kerrisdale Community Centre. Her courage, strength and determination were some of the many attributes present throughout her life, but were especially evident after her stroke in 2008. Her beautiful smile and gracious loving spirit will be dearly missed. Donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, SPCA or charity of choice. La liste des gens à remercier est tellement longue, mais nos remerciements particuliers vont à Mme Julie Lefrançois, infirmière auxiliaire, pour le dévouement modèle dont elle a fait preuve durant tout le séjour de Mme Juhász. Également, nous désirons souligner le professionnalisme exceptionnel de Mme Caroline Piché, pharmacienne responsable de l'établissement. Et nous avons une pensée chaleureuse pour Mme Ágnes Horváth, préposée aux soins, qui, outre le dévouement dont elle a fait preuve, a pu offrir à Mme Juhász un air de son pays d'origine en communiquant avec elle dans sa langue maternelle. Mme Juhász laisse dans le deuil: au Québec, sa fille Julianna Juhász (Jeannot Fecteau) et sa petite-fille Katharina Kent; en Suisse, sa fille Mária Juhász (Thomas Fodróczy) et ses enfants Gregory et Eva; en Hongrie, son fils, le Dr Béla Makláry (Ida Poór) et ses enfants Máté et Dávid. Après des funérailles religieuses intimes à Québec, les cendres de notre chère Julianna seront rapatriées et inhumées dans sa Hongrie tant aimée, parmi les siens, à Budapest.
