BURY-BURZYMSKI , Minnie September 21, 1913 - October 4, 2009 Minnie Bury-Burzymski of Calgary passed away peacefully at the Rockyview General Hospital on Sunday, October 4, 2009 at the age of 96 years. Minnie was born in Blackpool, England on September 21, 1913. Minnie worked as a WAF in WWII where she was a truck driver and mechanic. She married her husband Joseph after the war and immigrated to Canada in 1950, settling in Calgary. Minnie worked for the Hudson's Bay Company for over twenty years, until her retirement in 1978. Minnie loved the mountains, hiking, travelling, classical opera, knitting, stitchery, and working on crosswords in pen. Minnie is survived by her sister Joan Tavares of Cornwall, England, and by many nieces, nephews, and dear friends in England, Scotland, and Canada. Minnie was predeceased by her beloved husband Joseph in 1970. A Memorial Service celebrating Minnie's life will be held at St. Stephen's Anglican Church (1121 - 14 Avenue S.W.) on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com . JACK , Lorraine Katherine October 7, 1931 - October 2, 2009 Lorraine Jack of Calgary passed away peacefully on Friday, October 2, 2009 at the age of 77 years. She was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba where she met her husband Bob before ultimately moving to Ontario, France, Alberta and British Columbia. Lorraine built an enviable career in banking, starting at the age of fourteen years and spanning a time frame of over fifty years. In the latter years of her life, Lorraine devoted her attention to assisting many needy families and individuals each year, especially those forgotten and lonely elderly who gave so much of themselves to this country, and are now without adequate support and are too proud to ask for it. Lorraine will be most remembered for her compassion and generosity towards those in need. It was her sincere hope that the rest of us will continue to carry on with her charitable work. She was sadly predeceased by her one true love, Bob in 2002 and now eagerly goes to join him in the hereafter. Lorraine is survived by her son Robert, daughter-in-law Maxine, and three grandchildren, Kirsten, Tiffany and Jordan. Lorraine is also survived by three of her five siblings, Beverly, Judy and Ron. KEEN , Julianna (Julie) February 5, 1923 - October 1, 2009 It is with great sadness we say goodbye to our beloved Mother and Grandmother. Julianna was born in the Blue Hills of Nebraska, she moved to Calgary at the age of five with her family where she married and raised a family of her own. Julianna was the daughter of Peter and Anna Reiber of Calgary. She was predeceased by her husband, Roy Keen Sr., her parents, two brothers - Fred and David Reiber and one sister - Anna Anderson. She is survived by her daughter, Carrie and her son Roy Jr. of Sydney, Nova Scotia; one sister - Doris Dadey of Okotoks and one brother - Pete Reiber of Rimbey. ANDREWS Andrew Matthew 1922 - 2009 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing away of Andrew Matthew Andrews in his 87th year on October 06, 2009 at Peace Arch Hospital, White Rock. He is survived by his loving wife, Florence (ne?e Grippo) and seven children: Tony, John (Marian), Andy (Christine), Vince (Barb), Michael (Trudy), Jordan (Janise) and Maria (Bruce) Funston. He will also be missed by his fifteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Andrew was a World War II naval veteran and following the war worked as a transit operator for fourty-one years. BLAIR Nairn It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of (Percival) Nairn Blair on October 4, 2009 in Chilliwack, British Columbia at the age of 69 years. Nairn was born September 28, 1940 in Glasgow, Scotland. He is survived by his devoted and loving wife Sharon and son Christopher, daughter-in-law Tanya and 2 grandchildren Alicia and Sean. Nairn comes from a family of 3 brothers: Colin, Allan and David and 2 sisters: Fiona and Carol but beyond his immediate family Nairn embraced everyone he knew as a family member in his life. Nairn was known for his wit, pride, generosity and "larger-than-life" personality. Nairn lived with principles that exuded dignity, fairness and integrity. He was an avid golfer, curler and enjoyed playing cards with friends. He was the ultimate host and well-known as the life of the party with his "one-of-a-kind" laugh. He took pride in helping others, and giving back to his community. He enjoyed the ability to assist others through his banking career. Following his retirement from banking he succeeded as a prominent entrepreneur and spent his time volunteering at the Chilliwack YMCA foundation, Rotary Club, Chilliwack Golf & Country Club and other organizations. His family wishes to thank the compassionate staff of The Cascades Hospice Residence that provided comfort and care during his final days. In addition, a heartfelt thank you to the outpouring of support and care from friends and family. A Celebration of Life will be held on October 22nd, 2009 at the Chilliwack Golf & Country Club, 41894 Yale Road, Chilliwack from 2 - 4:00 p.m.. BEAULIEU Louise - 1952 - 2009 À l'Hôtel-Dieu de Québec, le 27 septembre 2009, à quelques jours de ses 57 ans, comme un dauphin, Louise a passé la vague sereinement et paisiblement. Elle demeurait à Saint-Marc-des-Carrières. Un service religieux sera célébré en l'église de Saint-Marc-des-Carrières, le lundi 12 octobre 2009 à 11h30. La famille accueillera à l'église parents et amis une heure avant la cérémonie. L'inhumation se fera ultérieurement à Sherbrooke, son lieu de naissance. Après avoir fait le deuil de ceux et celles qu'elle aimait, Louise nous laisse avec le nôtre; Denis Fréchette, son époux, Caroline Pelletier (Stéphane), Alexandre Fréchette, enfants qu'elle considérait comme les siens, à qui elle a tant donné et qu'elle a tant aimés. Arnold leaves four nephews, Larry Paulson, Bill Paulson, David Simpson, Don Simpson and a niece, Janice McCaine (nee Paulson), Clare Simpson (widow of nephew Allan Simpson) and their respective families to mourn his passing. He was predeceased by his parents, William and Bessie Paulson, his twin brother Lloyd Paulson, Lloyd's wife Viola, his sister Vera Simpson (nee Paulson), her husband Allan, and his nephew Allan Simpson. Board of Director's, Management, Staff and the many volunteers of the Welland & District Humane Society are also left to grieve over the immense loss of a dear friend and supporter. A memorial in honour of Dr. Paulson will be held at the upcoming Welland & District Humane Society's AGM on Thursday October 22, in the community room of the Welland detachment of Niagara Regional Police on Lincoln St., Welland, starting at 7 p.m. Cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held at a later date at the Brookside Cemetery, Winnipeg, Manitoba. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to the Emergency Animal Relief Fund, (EARF), care of Welland & District Humane Society would be greatly appreciated.

CAMERON , Glen Alexander November 20, 1947 - September 28, 2009 Glen Cameron passed away unexpectedly at the age of 61 years in Doha, Qatar, where he had been residing and teaching since 2002. Glen was the loving husband of Madeleine (nee Perrott), his wife of fourteen years, and the cherished father of daughter Tina and son Daniel. He was adored by his stepchildren Nicole, Claudine and Brad Perrott, and grandsons Dagan and Emmett. Glen was born in Edmonton and was raised on the family farm near Alcomdale, Alberta. After high school he completed the Telecommunications Technology program at NAIT in 1969 and worked as an equipment installer throughout Manitoba and Saskatchewan with Cowley Electronics and GTE Lenkurt. In 1974 he joined the Bank of Montreal, Telecommunications Training Department, based in Montreal. Leaving the bank in 1977, he moved back west to Calgary where he joined the SAIT Electronics Department and instructed Telecom courses. A major career change in 1984 saw him back with the Bank of Montreal as their Calgary based Western Regional Manager for telecommunications for the next ten years. Then in 1995 it was back with SAIT, working on international communications projects in Thailand, Vietnam and Mexico. The year 2000 he was back in the private sector in Calgary, as Manager of Western Field Operations with 360 Networks. Finally, in 2003 he joined the St. John's, Nfld. based College of the North Atlantic at their new campus in Doha, Qatar where he developed and managed the Telecommunications Technology Program, until his untimely passing. Glen was a "larger-than-life" individual who was continually educating, not only others but himself through extensive world travel as well as academically. Along the way he acquired a Bachelor of Vocational Education (with distinction) from U of A and an MBA from Dalhousie University, Halifax. Glen is also survived by four brothers and three sisters: Evan (Nettie) Cameron, Elaine (the late Ron) Eglen, Mabel (Gordon) Knight, Doug (Jackie) Cameron, Gail (Stan) Nordstrom, Stuart (Wilma) Cameron, and Bruce (Bev) Cameron and a large extended family. Glen was predeceased by his parents Archie and Florence Cameron and younger brother Neil (Sharon) Cameron. Relatives and friends are invited to a Celebration of his Life on Sunday, October 11, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the St. Albert United Church (20 Green Grove Drive, St. Albert, Alberta), with a reception to follow. Interment will take place 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 12, 2009 in the family plot at the Forest Hill Cemetery, Busby, Alberta. MacLEOD, Barbara Lillian (Lang) - Forever in our hearts, our lovely, gracious, elegant kind mother, grandmother, great- grandmother entered into rest, surrounded by her loving family. Barbara went to be with her Lord and Saviour in her 81st year at St. Joseph's Lifecare Centre on Sunday, October 4, 2009. Barbara was predeceased by her husband R. Leonard MacLeod (1999), her precious grandson (age 6) Gary Gallant (1988), brothers Orville, Calvin, Wilbur, Inard and sister Greta (October 2009). She is survived by brother Delwyn and sisters Noleen and Phyllis. Barbara was a devoted and loving mother to Rod (Mary), Neil (Kathy), Carol (Pierre). She will be remembered by grandchildren Rodney Jr. (MacLeod), Jacqueline (Jorin Lukings), Scott (MacLeod), Christine (MacLeod), Jefferey (MacLeod), Dionne (Regan Kenny), Pam Gallant. Great-grandchildren Reese, Kenny, Nina, Kenny, Garrett Gallant. After a long and rich life Barbara no longer suffers from the affliction of Alzheimers. Throughout her life she was sustained by her very deep faith in God, and she now knows her Hope in Jesus Christ...eternal life in Heaven. We will miss her gentle and loving spirit. Barbara touched many by her kindness, her compassion and she will be held dear in the hearts of her family and friends. Graham was the beloved husband of the late Yolande Belland.
