NOLET, Ronald Joseph - With saddened heart the family of Ronald announces his passing at the Welland General Hospital on Sunday October 4th 2009 at the age of 67. Loving and devoted husband of Claudette (Seguin) Nolet, cherished father of Brigitte Nolet, Stefanie Desjardins, Chantal Nolet and spouses. Dear brother of Germaine Ethier, Roland, Denis and Daniel. Ronald will be sadly missed by his granddaughter Téa Lochner as well as by his many nieces, nephews and brother and sisters-in-law. He was predeceased by his parents Victor and Rose Anna, brothers Lucien, Gaeten, Léonel and Lauréat. He was a wonderful husband, great dad and grand papa and a good friend to many. Ronald was born in Ste Sabine Station, Quebec. He worked at Whiting's Equipment for over 30 years, he also was a volunteer firefighter at Niagara Falls Station #6 for over 15 years. The family will receive relatives and friends at the WELLAND FUNERAL HOME 827 East Main Street Welland on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Saturday at Église Sacré Coeur at 10 a.m. Cremation to follow. Jean will be remembered for her active participation in her Community which included: her previous role as president of the Smiths Falls Curling Club, Board member of the Perth & Smiths Falls District Hospital, volunteer with the Merrickville Union Cemetery Board and she was also very active at the Smiths Falls Golf & Country Club and Smiths Falls Curling Club. Predeceased by her husband Cameron Cripps, parents Bill and Irene Coleman, sisters Eva and Belva. Survived by and lovingly remembered by her brother Jim and sister Nettie. FIORANTE Antonio With great sadness we announce the passing of our dear husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather Antonio Fiorante, born on April 25, 1926 in Civitanova del Sannio, Italy. Antonio is predeceased by his beloved grandson Tony Angelo Faccone, his beloved daughter Anna Mary Faccone and his sister Ines Fiorda of Toronto. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 62 years Amerina; son Clorindo; daughter Luciana (Luigi) Marzitelli; son-in-law Luigi Faccone; grandchildren Marco (Lucia) Faccone, David (Daun) Fiorante, Lisa Fiorante, Angela, Joe and Marco Marzitelli; great-grandchildren Elizabeth, Marina and Anthony; his sisters Letizia (Gino) Ditomaso, Maria (Luigi) Bevilacqua, Nella Fiorante, Suor Maria Giulia Fiorante of Italy; his brother Benedetto Fiorante and many nieces and nephews. Antonio immigrated to Canada in 1951 and was later joined by his wife and family in 1954. Antonio worked at B.C. Ice and Cold Storage for 21 years, until his retirement. Katherine Kargut October 5, 1913 October 4, 2009 Our sister Katherine was born in 1913 in the Warman area, the oldest of 8 children born to Peter J. and Katherina Friesen. She was raised and educated in the Warman district. As she grew up, she began working in different homes, including those of Reverend I. P. Friesen and Dr. Wilkin, who would later deliver her only child. She worked very hard for all of her life, always giving it her best. She had a hearty laugh, which was contagious. In 1934 she married Henry Kargut. Times were hard, but she always found ways and means to supplement their income. Her daughter Janice was born in 1944, and Katherine's life was entirely devoted to her beloved child. They lived in the small town of Langham, SK for many years. She was a skilled gardener, who loved to watch things grow. She was also a wonderful cook and we have enjoyed her meals many times. She never lost her sense of style, and was a talented seamstress. It was through the Janz Team ministry that Katherine saw her need to accept Christ as her Saviour. Some time after their move to Saskatoon, she was baptized at University Alliance Church and she attended as long as she could. When her health started failing, it necessitated a move from her home to Bethany Manor and then to the Central Haven Care Home. Reuben and Betty Friesen were a great influence and encouragement in her last months, bringing to her a greater sense of peace. She was predeceased by her husband, Henry Kargut; her parents; her brothers, Harry and John Friesen and her sister, Margaret O'Neill; two sisters-in-law, Erma and Charlotte Friesen; three brothers-in-law, Clifford O'Neill, Frank Baerg and Edward Fisher. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Janice, into whom Katherine poured her whole life and love; one brother, Jack Friesen; three sisters, Helen Friesen, Anne Baerg, and Elizabeth Fisher; one sister-in-law, Sara Friesen; and several nieces and nephews. Katherine reached the age of 95; she was just one day short of her 96th birthday. She was admitted to St. Paul's Hospital on Monday, September 28 and the Lord called her home on Sunday, October 4. All her storms of life, which were many, are now past and all is perfect peace at last. We loved her dearly and will miss her, but we are thankful that she is safe in the arms of Jesus. Visitation for friends and family will be held on Thursday evening, October 8, 2009 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 9, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. officiated by Pastor Jack Bridal. Both will be held at Acadia-McKague's Funeral Centre (915 Acadia Drive). Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Clayton (Jamie Mac) Laframboise Jamie, age 32 years, left us to be with his Saviour on October 5, 2009. He is survived by: son, Avery; father, Clayton, and Brenda; mother, Helen, and Larry; sisters: Carrie, and Paul Dessmann; Carla, and Terry; Candi, and Mawein Akot; Rayanna, and Meichelle; and grandparents, Frank and Neva Mirasty; and Avery's mother, Laura Knight. He is also survived by special niece, Shaneen, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by grandparents, Michael and Corrine LaFramboise; Aunt Bev and Uncle Ronnie. Jamie was a spiritual person and followed in the Lord's footsteps and that give him direction each day of his life. He was taking Bible Study at City Centre Church at the time of his passing. His spirituality reflected on everyone who surrounded him. His passion and the greatest joy of his life was spending time with his son. He loved going to church and was active in his community. He enjoyed nature and a variety of outdoor activities. He truly loved spending time with his family and friends. Jamie started hoop dancing at age 8 at St. Mary's School and continued to perform until his passing. His goal was to be a youth worker at the church and he wanted to share his love for the Lord with the community. A Wake will be held on Thursday, October 8, at 4:00 p.m. at Saskatoon Full Gospel Native Ministries, (635 Avenue H South) with Father Andre officiating. A second Wake will be held on Friday, October 9, 2009, 3:00 p.m., at Flying Dust First Nation, Meadow Lake, SK. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2009, 1:00 p.m. at Flying Dust First Nation, Meadow Lake, SK with Pastor Frank and Neva Mirasty assisting. Jamie's favourite phrase was, Don't say good-bye, I'll see you later. This is not good-bye, this is a new beginning. We all love you Jamie Mac. Leslie Sadler (1920-2009) Leslie Sadler, who was born on September 29, 1920 in Sheffield, England, passed away on October 5, 2009 in Saskatoon. One of four brothers who served in the British Armed Forces during the Second World War, he enlisted in the R.A.F. in 1941 as an aircraftsman and was sent to Canada with the Commonwealth Training Plan. He married Pauline Tkachuk in 1942 and shortly after was transferred to England. Pauline and infant Beverly followed him to England only to find he was soon to be sent to Singapore. After the war the family moved to Canada, where Les worked as a mechanic in Unity and Saskatoon before assuming positions first with Studebaker and later with Lincoln Engineering. Left to mourn him are his daughter, Beverly Oster (John) and sons, Leslie (Michelle) and Raymond; grandchildren, Kathy, Tanya, Chelsea, Regan, and Liam; and great-grandchildren, Stephanie, Lisa, Rachel, Jordan, Zoe, Cheyanne, and Kai; and his special friend, Helen. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Vi in England; his brother-in-law, Louis Tkachuk; and his sister-in-law, Mary Zaichkowsky. He was predeceased by his brothers, Harold, Raymond, and Leonard and his sister, Rose. Les was an active member of the Canadian Legion with 59 years of service, much of it with the Nutana Branch. Among his many interests were ham radio, computer technology, antique cars, and bowling. The funeral service will take place on Saturday, October 10, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Christ Church Anglican, 515 28th Street West, Saskatoon, SK. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery. CRUISE Gordon Colin Chisholm (May 2, 1914 - October 2, 2009) Last surviving child of 6 born to Albert W. and Isabella (Chisholm) Cruise, a pioneer Point Grey family. Educated in Vancouver, Gordon served in the Canadian Army, married Frances Canavan (of Boston) in 1950, spent his working life in Vancouver, and his leisure time woodworking and playing golf. Family vacations were at Redrooffs, and many later winters were enjoyed in Palm Desert. Gordon is survived by his wife Frances, daughter Frannie (Bill Mahony) and grandchildren Cole and Laurel, son Brian (Barbara Arnold) and grandsons David and Graham, daughter Cathie (Chris Philips) and granddaughters Peggy and Patricia, 3 nieces and 2 nephews. Gordon's determined, always helpful and cheerful approach to life, inspired many and will be greatly missed. MERCER Lorraine Darling (nee Inge) It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our loving wife, mother and grandmother, Lorraine Darling Mercer (nee Inge) of Burnaby. Lorraine's memory will be cherished by her husband, Allan of 56 years, and her children Pamela Grassi (Mike), Jeff (Delores), Trevor (Debbie) and Carolyn Lige (Kerry). Lorraine was a wonderful grandmother to Stephanie, Matthew, Lucas, Victoria, Alexandra, Jonah, Austin and Bryson. Lorraine was born and raised in Vancouver where she attended Kitsilano High School and the Duffus School of Business. In the early years of marriage, she was a very busy and dedicated mother and homemaker raising her four children. Together Lorraine and Allan embarked on a lifetime of various business endeavours, including real estate, Mercer Electric Motor Service and the Hairem Salon. She loved to travel, boat, fish, hobby farm and scrapbook. Those who knew Lorraine knew of her generosity to others and her love for animals. She was a long time member of the Beta Sigma Phi, Preceptor Upsilon Sorority. Lorraine especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends at their vacation homes in Palm Springs and Birch Bay. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her. The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff at Burnaby Hospital for their kindness and support. Recognizing Lorraine's lifelong love of animals, a donation to the Burnaby SPCA would be a welcome acknowledgement. A Celebration of Lorraine's Life will be held on Tuesday, October 13th at 2:00 pm at Willingdon Church, 4812 Willingdon Avenue, Burnaby. SAVAGE - Marjorie (nee May) It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our loving mother Marjorie. Predeceased by her mother Frena May; father Randall May; brothers Harry, Arthur, Don, Edgar and Pete; sister Norah; and husband Douglas Savage of 66 years. Mother to Linda M. Savage and Janice M. Savage; Nana to Stephanie M. M. Kelly. She also leaves behind 1 brother Godfrey (Buck) May, sister-in-law Aunt Gladys (best friend), many nephews and nieces, and family friend Maisie Gagno. Marjorie was a hairdresser in the early days. Also a member of the Eastern Star & Daughters of the Nile & Palettes. We love you mom/nana and you will be dearly missed by family and friends. A Celebration of her life will be held Thursday, October 15, 2009 at 2:00 pm at the Richmond Funeral Home, 8420 Cambie Road in Richmond. BURNIE, Leonilda "Lee" Passed away peacefully on Tuesday October 6, 2009 at Huron Lodge. She is predeceased by her husband Norman Shaw Burnie and her nephew Lou Cudin Jr. Lee will be missed by her brother Lou Cudin & his wife Emma and their children Mary Cudin, John Cudin and Patty & Scott Hemphill and their daughter Lauren. MAILLOUX, Michelle Claire I left this physical world on October 7, 2009. Remember me!! ST. LOUIS, Gene (Eugene) 64 years. Died peacefully on October 7, 2009 at Hotel Dieu Grace Hospital, surrounded by his family.
