FOSTER, George Hatton - Peacefully, surrounded by his family, at St. Mary's on the Lake Hospital in Kingston Ontario. Born October 28th, 1929 in Manchester UK. George came to Canada in 1954, and shortly after, met the love of his life Dorothy Caveen, whom he married in 1960 and adored every day of their life together. Lovingly remembered by daughters Michelle (Richard Chretien), Janine (Tom Elmslie), and Denise (John Sullivan), and grandchildren Danielle, Becki, Shelby, Haylie, Cole, Eric, and Brennus. AITKEN, Thomas Sr. - Passed away peacefully on August 31st, 2009, at the Glen-Stor-Dun Lodge, Cornwall, ON, at the age of 97. Beloved husband of Helen (nee Poapst) of Cornwall. Cherished father of Alex (Lois) of Little Rock, Arkansas, Tom Jr. (Marina) of Cornwall, and Jim (Norma) of Calgary. Will be sadly missed by 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by parents Thomas and Elizabeth (nee Carruthers), brothers John and Bill, and sisters Jean Thompson, Mary Esdale, and Liz Martel. Will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews, neighbours and friends. A Memorial Service in celebration of Mr. Thomas Aitken, Sr.'s life will be held on Friday September 4th, 2009 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of the Glen-Stor-Dun Lodge, 1900 Montreal Rd., Cornwall. DEKKER, Joan - Passed away peacefully at the Stedman Community Hospice on Sunday August 30, 2009, in her 75 th year. Joan is predeceased by her brother Lloyd (2006) and is survived by her nephews Rens and Tom. Thanks to the Eagle Place Seniors who made Joan feel a valued member of the club. Cards, visits and flowers were the high points of her final days. A special thank you to Bill and Kathy, Doug and Kay, Edna, Betty, Marjory, Dorothy, Norma and Isabelle and Linda. Joan was one of the priviledged few to experience the care and compassion provided by the staff and volunteers at the hospice. In Joan's words “they treated me like Royalty”. HALSTEAD, Jack - Passed away on Saturday, August 29th at Algoma Manor, one week before his 93rd birthday. Jack came to Canada in 2002 following the death of his wife, Beryl, to live with his only child, Susan (Marks) Kerr (husband Robert). He will be sorely missed by all his family here, particularly grandchildren Mathew Knickelbein (Allasua) of Iqaluit, Nunavut, and Heather McClelland Hein (James Panico) of Sault Ste. Marie; and his great- grandchildren, Schyler, Shania, Simeonie, Malaya - not forgetting his 'nearly' great grandchildren, Lewis and Makayla - nor his “almost“ daughter, Marianne Moreau. Jack's extended family includes sister-in-law Doreen Bailey (late Tom) and her daughters - Kathryn Bailey-Pfeffer (Issy) of B.C., Nancy Bailey (Dave Ryce) of Sault Ste. Marie, Dorrie Bailey (B.J.) of Texas; and cousin Shirley Burrows of Blackpool, England. A proud and gentle man, Jack lived his life with dignity and integrity. He humbly served his country during WW2 (1939-1946) - “first in, last out“! He was a loyal friend, devoted husband, loving son - and the best dad ever! At Jack's request, there will be no visitation. Cremation has already taken place. Harvey will be remembered as an avid golfer and, in his younger years, was a member of various area fastball teams. At Mr. Hopkins' request, cremation has taken place. KINGSTON, Susan Jean (nee Edwards) 1952 - 2009 After a courageous battle with a liver disease, Susan succumbed, peacefully, in the Toronto General Hospital, Thursday, August 27th 2009, at the age of 57 years. Loving wife of Hal Kingston, Oxford Mills; daughter of Jean and Gordon Edwards, sister of Cheryl Lemire (Dan), daughter-in-law to Bob Kingston (June Kelley); sister-in-law to Barbara Regel (Steve) and Marlene Taylor (Warren); aunt to Ashley and Robyn Lemire, Candice Grant (Shawn) and Brent Regel, Patricia, Victoria, Warren Jr. and Kira Taylor, all of Ottawa. Susan was a great lover of animals; she and Hal had three Brittany spaniels - Gus, Tanner, and Toby. She also loved horses; Snickers to ride, and Rat as a pet. She loved living in the country; and their farm was her showplace. Susan will be sorely missed by her family and friends; one of her special friends being Terry Reich, Susan's long-time running partner, in healthier days. A 'Celebration of Life' will be held at the Grant Brown Funeral Home, Rolston Chapel, 805 Prescott Street, Kemptville, Ontario, Thursday, September 3rd, 2009 at 1 pm. OBITUARY DR. GEORGE MAURICE DUNDASS November 29, 1921 - August 29, 2009 "GMD" died peacefully in his sleep. A competitive sportsman, avid poker player, entertaining raconteur and accomplished dentist, George led what he called a "full and wonderful life." He was predeceased by his wives Doris and Luise, and siblings John, Howard and Roberta. George is survived by his children Donna, Murray, Helen and Debbie, ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. As an officer in the Armed Forces, he began a remarkable dental career that spanned more than half a century, including a term as president of the Montreal Dental Club. He was a long-time teacher at McGill's dental faculty. His contributions were recognized by the Montreal Dental Clinic. Recently, the Kanawaki senior club championship was named in his honour. Some of his favourite moments were on the screened porch of his Dunany cottage, surrounded by family and friends. Special thanks to caregiver Rani Sushma. MOLYNEAUX , Sharon Gwen (nee Lunseth) May 25, 1946 - August 30, 2009 Sharon passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Sunday, August 30, 2009, at the Father Lacombe Care Centre at the age of 63. Sharon was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her caring, compassionate nature was reflected not only by her unwavering commitment to family and friends, but also through her extensive volunteer endeavors. Nellie was born in Grandview, Manitoba. Her greatest joy was her family. PLOUFFE , Travis Richard September 22, 1991 - August 26, 2009 Travis Plouffe of Calgary passed away tragically in a car accident on August 26, 2009, at the age of 17 years. Travis will be lovingly remembered by his father Rick; sister Jennifer; grandmother Peggy Desaunoy; godmother Jacquie Bertrand-Plouffe; and godfather Mark Desaunoy. He is also survived by numerous extended family and friends. Travis was predeceased by his mother Christine Plouffe; grandfather Henry Desaunoy; grandparents Paul and Margaret Plouffe (2009) and cousin Selena Plouffe (2009). Travis enjoyed playing hockey and golf as well as spending time with friends. He lived each day as if it was his last. Travis will be sadly missed by all who he has touched in his life.
