MELLOR, Margaret Anne She died as she lived, with God's grace, surrounded by family on August 23rd, 2009 at home at age 63 after a battle with cancer. Beloved wife of Gary Mellor. Loving mother of Paul (wife Annaliese Smyth), Beth (husband Shannon Douglas), Jennifer (husband Ted Hartley), Marie (husband Justin Currie), Therese (husband Steve Berube), Kathleen (husband Marc Jossinet), Matthew (fiancee Elyse Ferland), Grace and Rebekah (husband Seth Potter). Cherished grandmother of Meghan, Rachel, Jacob, Brent, Michael, Micailie, Greta, Isabelle, Lauren, Jessica, Alex, Katie, Hannah, Max, Gavin, Xavier, Paxton, Andrew, and Baby Potter. Daughter of the late Orville and Kathleen O'Hara. Predeceased by brother James O'Hara and sister Katherine, survived by sister Marian Briand and brother Greg O'Hara. In recent years, she served as Coordinator of Ministries at St. Mary's Parish. A graduate of Ottawa Teachers' College, she spent many years as a classroom and supply teacher. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. The family will receive friends at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home 1411 Hunt Club Road at Albion Road on Tuesday and Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9. PAULETTE, Doris Fejer Passed away on August 11, 2009 at the Montfort hospital at the age of 85. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother before everything. Somewhat reserved by nature with an adventurous heart and silly, playful side, she was always keen to travel to exotic new locations with her husband and son. She read with a passion, enjoyed long walks, eating chocolate, window shopping, evening Mass, listening to Placido Domingo, lunchtime swims with her husband, and relaxing anywhere peaceful and quiet. Her appreciation of nature has been passed on to her son and grandchildren. She is survived by her brother Rolf Bruhlmeier of Switzerland, son Paul Fejer, his wife Shelley and their children Kailey and Evan, and her care giver Venus Ubaldo. She was predeceased by her husband Stephen who passed away in December, 2008. She will be sadly missed and remembered with love by family and friends. IRVINE, Dr. Donald MacLean - Dr. Donald MacLean Irvine of Welland (formerly of Guelph), passed away peacefully on August 17th, in his 90th year. Beloved husband of Jeanne Irvine (nee Holman) for over 51 years and loving father of Susan Pietz (Jeff) of Fenwick, Donald of St. Catharines, Ken (Liane) of Guelph and Robert (Roberta) of Cambridge. Sadly missed grandfather of Brian, Kevin, Carl Pietz and Taylor Irvine. Predeceased by parents William Hector and Elizabeth Isabelle Irvine (nee Stewart) of St. Catharines and survived by Sister Jean Crawford of Toronto. Don grew up in St. Catharines and attended St. Catharines Collegiate. He worked for his father William, owner of the Sanitary Dairy (the first dairy to pasteurize milk in St. Catharines). He attended the Ontario Agricultural College in Guelph and upon graduation he joined the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps. He served overseas as 1st Lieutenant, directing truck convoys with munitions and supplies to troops and front line positions from 1942 to 1946. After the war Don completed his M.Sc. and PhD at the University of Wisconsin in Madison and returned to Guelph where he was offered a position as Professor and Head of Food Science at the University of Guelph. Teaching and researching Cheese Technology, Don consulted and lectured in the United States, Brazil, Holland, France, Denmark, England, Germany, Greece, Trinidad and Tobago, Jamaica and Saudi Arabia. He spent numerous years judging international events such as the World Cheese Competition in Green Bay, Wisconsin, The British Empire Cheese Show, The Canadian National Exhibition and the Royal Winter Fair. Don served the community of Guelph as a minor hockey coach and convener and President of the Guelph Minor Hockey Association. He was a member of the John McCrae Memorial Legion, The Wellington County Men's Club and a member and elder at Knox Presbyterian Church for many years. A memorial service will be held on August 28th at 11:00 am at LAMPMAN - MUIR FUNERAL HOME, 724 Canboro Road, Fenwick, On., 905-892-4701. A private interment will follow. A celebration of Don's life will be held at the University of Guelph Arboretum, Auditorium on Thursday, September 3, from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. KONEFAT, Elaine Helena (nee Koltok) - Passed away peacefully at the age of 88 on Sunday, August 23, 2009 at the Trillium Health Centre in Mississauga, of complications following cancer surgery in May. Predeceased by her husband, Steve with whom she built a successful business, Huron Industrial Insulation Ltd., with operations in Sudbury and Collingwood. Daughter of the late John and Rose Koltok, Elaine was born in Poland and raised in Kirkland Lake, Ontario, along with her brother and six sisters. Elaine was a high- spirited, hard-working woman who enjoyed life to the full. She tackled her illness with the inspirational level of strength and optimism that were her hallmarks. Elaine was predeceased by her brother John and sisters Ann and Bea; survived by sisters Toni (Mary), Kay, Chris, and Jessie, her “Buddy“, with whom she shared a special bond; her sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews and their children. Elaine wanted to acknowledge the love and support provided by her many friends and neighbours, with special thanks to Dr. Irish at Toronto General Hospital. Paul Edouard Cormier 1922-2009 À l’Hôpital de Moncton, le mardi 25 août 2009, est décédé Paul Edouard «Pollard» Cormier, âgé de 87 ans. Né le 10 avril 1922 à Moncton, il était le fils de feu Edouard et Leona (Bourque) Cormier. Paul était employé du CN avant sa retraite et membre du Club de curling Beauséjour. Il adorait passer du temps avec sa famille et ses amis, chasser, pêcher et surveiller le hockey et le baseball à la télévision. Il laisse dans le deuil son épouse de 64 ans, Marguerite (Biddington) Cormier; trois filles: Paulette Cormier, Margaret-Ann Green et Monique Murray (James), tous de Moncton; une sœur, Gilberte (feu Louis) de Hartford, CT; quatre petits-enfants: Michel et Gilles (Shelley) Arsenault, Chris (Amanda) et Tim (Jill) Murray; trois arrière-petites-filles: Taylor, Teagan et Tahlia ainsi qu’un neveu, Rick Cyr (Karen). Il fut précédé dans la tombe par un petit-fils, Matthew. La dépouille mortelle sera exposée le dimanche 30 août de 19h à 21h au Salon funéraire Frenette, 88, rue Church, Moncton. Les funérailles auront lieu en l’église Christ-Roi, rue Dominion, Moncton, le lundi 31 août à 10h. L’inhumation se fera au cimetière Notre-Dame-du-Calvaire, Dieppe.
