Chaplin and son Douglas H. Chaplin. Dearly loved mother of Norm (Judy) Chaplin of Innerkip, Ontario. Edna is survived by her granddaughter Christine Smith and husband Jeremy of Innerkip, grandson Bradley Chaplin and his wife Mereille of London, daughter-in-law Janice Chaplin of Bowmanville, grandson Cory Chaplin and his wife Angela of Ottawa and granddaughter Lisa Love and her husband Ian of Bowmanville. Cherished great-grandmother of Hadley and Willow Smith, Brooke Chaplin, Brianna and Hunter Love and Benjamin Chaplin. She was the dear sister of the late Laura Ferguson, Ruby Roberts and Norman Kirkham and will be fondly remembered by all her family and friends. MIDDLEMAN, Harry Thomas Peacefully at his home, on Sunday, June 21, 2009 after a lengthy battle with Esophageal cancer in his 57th year. Survived by his beloved Sheila nee Bolton Currie-Alder "Sheila C. Alder", her son Bruce Currie-Alder (Nora). Predeceased by his parents David and Renee Middleman. Harry was blessed with many, many friends including some who took the place of the siblings he never had, especially Sandi and Pat McLaughlin, Elizabeth Holden, Victor and Patricia Tolgyesy, Beulah Wadsworth, Marc Gerin-Lajoie, Tasia Papadatos and Peter Hargraves and Linda and Bill Balke. Harry worked first for his father in the family business founded by his grandfather - Middleman's House of Fashion on Sparks St., then went into the Public Service, serving for over 29 years. BARRETT , Ronald John April 26, 1952 - June 20, 2009 Ron Barrett was successful in defeating cancer. He won the courageous battle when he passed away in the loving arms of his wife of thirty-three years, Peggy, with daughters Erin (Dan) and Brooke by his side. He is also survived by his sister Donna (Alan); brother Gary (Kim) and man's best friend Morgan. Ron was a true Calgarian who was born at the Calgary General Hospital and graduated from Forest Lawn High. An avid gardener and natural athlete, Ron excelled at all sports but his true loves were his daughters. He was so very proud of all their accomplishments and heart broken that he was unable to attend Brooke's last convocation. He will be greatly missed by all family and friends whose lives were touched by "Uncle Rummy". EDGAR , (Vance) Jennifer Passed away suddenly on Saturday, May 16, 2009 at the QEII Hospital in Halifax. Jennifer was born on October 23, 1948 in Faulkirk, Scotland, and immigrated with her family to Nova Scotia as a small child. She grew up in Londonberry and spent several years in Alberta before returning to Halifax. She is survived by her children, Andrew, Lisa, Alexandra and Bernie; grandchildren, Brandon and Jonathan; stepfather Stan; brothers, Stuart, Kenneth and Gerald; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Anne Frankoski and Donald Vance; brother, Wayne. She was loved by many and will be sorely missed. By request there will be no Visitation. IRWIN , Denise Alfreda (Wright) Passed away in Toronto on 20 June, 2009 in her 70th year. Loving mother of Tim and Tony (Julia) Irwin; grandmother of Emily Elisabeth and Abigail Grace; aunt of Steve Clarke and great-aunt to Jonathan, Andrew and Stephanie; loving sister of Marlene Clarke, Wallace Wright (Dianne) and Lenita Schellenberg (Bob), and will be forever in our hearts. Predeceased by parents Elisabeth and Auburn Wright. A graduate of Erin District High School and Shaw School of Business. Worked for many years at Ford Motor Co., Oakville and Maclean-Hunter, Financial Post and Canadian Tire in Toronto. She was the lady who gave the best dinner parties in her prime but struggled for thirty years with Huntington disease which was devastating psychologically, physically and emotionally. The family wishes to thank the staff of Runnymede Healthcare Centre in Toronto who looked after Denise so well over the last four years. JOHNSON , Brian E. December 8, 1954 - June 17, 2009 Brian: father, son, brother, uncle and friend to many, passed away suddenly in Invermere, B.C. He was in the company of friends, mountain biking in the mountains he loved. Originally from Calgary, Brian has lived and worked in Invermere for seven years. He moved to the valley for the lifestyle and was generous in sharing his love of the outdoors with all who knew and visited him; skiing in the winter, biking and hiking in the summer. Brian is survived by his daughter Caitlin and partner Francois; mother Betty; siblings Kathleen and Peter, Beverly and Richard, Bruce and Christina; and all of his nieces, nephews and friends. SKUCE , Todd Robert June 4, 1969 - June 20, 2009 It is with deep love and incredible memories that the family of Todd Robert Skuce announces his unexpected passing on Saturday, June 20, 2009 in Calgary, Alberta. TEMOIN , Ruth (nee Wheatley) Passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2009 a few days after suffering from a stroke at Markhaven Home for Seniors in Markham, Ontario. She would have celebrated her 91st birthday on Sunday, June 21. Ruth's devoted husband, Bernard Charles Temoin was at her bedside when she passed. Ruth is survived by her faithful daughter Terese Temoin Downs and son-in-law Neil Downs, her son Eugene Temoin and loving grandchildren Kenneth Downs and his fiance Basia Smetny-Sowa. Adrienne Temoin Smith (nee Downs) and her husband Peter, Cameron Downs, Kevin Downs and the family dog, Merlin. As many of you know, Ruth suffered from Alzheimer's disease for many years and fought this insidious disease with the strength, determination and resolve for which she was well known. The family wishes to thank the entire medical, nursing, caregiver and administrative staff and volunteers at Markhaven who provided Ruth with so much support during the past five years. She was loved and cared for in a wonderful Christian atmosphere and we could not have asked for a better home for her to live out the last years of her life. Ruth was born on June 21, 1918 in Banff, Alberta to Alice and Frank Wheatley. She was the second youngest of ten children and was predeceased by her brothers and sisters: Wilfred, Jim, Frank Jr., Ralph, Ken, Muriel, Marietta, Alice and Grace. Ruth was a Charter Member of Whitevale Golf Club where she had many fond memories and friends. She was also a member of the Toronto Real Estate Board, developing a very successful career in real estate and becoming one of the first female real estate brokers in Toronto. In addition, Ruth was a member of Zonta International, a service club for women and was very involved in their many charitable and fundraising activities. She also volunteered for Princess Margaret Hospital, the Toronto Symphony Orchestra Women's Committee and The Grange at the Art Gallery of Ontario. Friends were received at the DIXON-GARLAND FUNERAL HOME, 166 Main Street North (Markham Road), Markham on Monday, June 22 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Service in the Chapel on Tuesday, June 23 at 1:00 p.m. Cremation. TOFFAN , Craig Robert April 22, 1962 - June 18, 2009 Craig passed away on Thursday due to complications with pancreatic cancer at the age of 47. He is survived by his partner Lyn (Turnbull), daughters Siena and Scarlet, mother Arleen Toffan, father John Toffan (Cheryl), brother Jay, sister Jill (Simon), and predeceased by his sister Sharon. Craig was born and raised in Calgary returning here in 1999 after spending about five years in Vancouver. It was back in Calgary that Craig found his way back into the heart of his childhood sweetheart and started a family. He was a very dedicated father and there was simply nothing more important to him than Lyn and his two little girls. As a conscientious and talented carpenter, building custom homes, his work took him from Calgary to Vancouver, Whistler, and Japan. His other true passion was for the outdoors where he had a natural gift for fishing. Craig was completely at peace on the river and it was special to watch him cast that little bit of magic. His strength of character defined his dignified approach towards his battle with cancer and is also reflected through the many lifelong friends he leaves behind. Craig has gone fishing one last time and he will be missed. GREGORIS, Maria (nee Signoretti) - In loving memory of Maria (nee Signoretti) Gregoris, 83 years of Sudbury who passed away Sunday, June 21st, 2009 at the SRH- St. Joseph's Health Centre. She was born in Copper Cliff and married Giorgio Gregoris in 1955 in Sudbury. A devout Roman Catholic, Maria attended St. Patrick's Church. She has worked in the SPD Dept at the Sudbury General Hospital. She was a faithful volunteer at the Caruso Club often helping in the kitchen. She was an excellent cook who enjoyed hosting family and friends for dinner. Beloved wife of Giorgio Gregoris predeceased 1990. Loving mother of Henry (wife Christine). Cherished grandmother of Arthur Gregoris and step grandson Nathaniel Misouri. Dear daughter of Enrico and Anita Signoretti predeceased. LaMONTAGNA , Pasquale January 28, 1937 - June 21, 2009 Pasquale LaMontagna, beloved husband of Guiseppina LaMontagna of Calgary, passed away after a lengthy illness at home surrounded by his family on Sunday, June 21, 2009 at the age of 72 years. Pasquale was born January 28, 1937 in Marigliano, Naples, Italy. He immigrated to Calgary in 1959 and in 1961 was joined by the love of his life, Guiseppina. Pasquale and Guiseppina were married in Calgary on December 9, 1961. Pasquale began his working career as head machine operator for Consolidated Concrete, leaving in 1984 after twenty-five years of service to pursue new interests. He embarked upon his new career as custodian with Catholic School Board, and in 2002, at the age of sixty-five, he retired. Pasquale had a great passion for fishing; at any opportunity he could be found out in his boat, enjoying the quiet and relaxation of the outdoors and being on the water. He also loved to tend to his garden, growing the best tomatoes and green peppers, which he gladly shared with his family and friends. Family was always first in Pasquale's life; to be in the company of his loving wife, children and grandchildren were the most precious of times. He was very proud of his family and of the life he had made in Canada. Pasquale is survived by his loving wife Guiseppina; children, Filomena and Milton Pratt; Roger and Leann (nee Mraz) LaMontagna and Raffelina and Norman Fillion; grandchildren, Ryan and Riley Pratt, Madison and Morgan LaMontagna, Dawson, Connor and Francesca Fillion; brothers, Tony and Inga of Vernon, BC, Sam and Sevaria of Italy, Guy and Sabina of Calgary; sisters, Lucia and Marcello Davino of Italy, Sister Lidia LaMontagna of Italy, Maria and Reg Serpico of Calgary, Sister Angelina LaMontagna of Italy and Sister Teodora LaMontagna of Italy; brothers and sisters-in-law, Luigi and Filomena Ardolino, Frank and Maria Ardolino as well as numerous nieces and nephews. WEATHERBEE, Muriel (Sloan) - in her 75th year, passed away quietly at Hamilton General Hospital on June 20, surrounded by the love of her family. Left behind to remember her kind heart and caring nature are Derald, her husband of 57 years, sons David (Deb) of London, Dan (Trudy) of Wilsonville, DJ (Alice) of Brantford, and daughters Joyce Hutson (Ken) of Brantford and Norma-Lee (Donald Kennedy) of Elverta, CA. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great- grandchildren, brother Jim Sloan (Pauline) Mt. Pleasant, sisters Audrey Stanley (Verne) Mt. Pleasant and Maryann Sloan (Kitchener) and many nieces and nephews. She raised her family in Scotland for 22 years where she and Derald were instrumental in introducing the Boy Scout movement to the youth of the community in 1959. Her door was always open, the coffee always on and her ears always ready and willing to listen to the trials of anyone who sat at her table. At her request, cremation has already taken place.
