Loving husband of Verna (nee Gordon) and beloved father of Gordie (Helen), Aurora, Ont.; Mary (Tim Gormley), Charlottetown; and Adam (Sarah Jones), Charlottetown. Grandfather of Caroline. Survived by brothers John (Janet), Sam (Irene), Primrose; and Warren (Bev), Fanningbrook; sisters Laura Dixon, Gaspereaux, and Kathryn Acorn, Kingsboro, and by brothers-in-law Bill (Ella) Gordon, Murray River, and Lowell Gordon, Dover. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents Chester and Ruth (MacDonald) Acorn and infant brother Donald. Resting at the Southern Kings and Queens Funeral Home, Murray River, for visitation on Wednesday, April 1, from 6-9 p.m. Funeral service on Thursday, April 2, from the Murray Harbour Baptist Church at 10 a.m. Interment in the Acorn Cemetery, Dundas. Beloved wife of the late George Fulford III. Eileen was predeceased by her parents, Dr. Joseph A. McMillan and D. Eileen McMillan, and her niece, Victoria F. McMillan. Eileen is survived by her siblings — Colin (Sandy) McMillan, Charles (Kazuyo), Tom, Maura (Arthur) and John (Audrey), and by 14 nieces and nephews in P.E.I., Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, Boston and New York City. Loved Grandpa of Heather Eileen Colquhoun (Mark Perkins), Allan Bruce Colquhoun (Cachelle Fry), Michael Francis Portt (Amy Steggles) and Andrea Elizabeth Portt. Great-grandpa of Sophie Alexandra Perkins. Son and only child of the late Thomas H. and S. Elizabeth (nee Exley) Portt. Also survived by several cousins. An active Mason as long as his health permitted, Bruce was Deputy Grand Master of Prince Edward District in 1962-63. He represented Tyendinaga Township on the Bay of Quinte District High School Board for a number of years and was Chairman of the Board in 1963. Allan was predeceased by his first wife Leona (nee Bazinet) (d. 1979) and his second wife Irma (nee Dowdall) (d. 1997). He was the beloved father of Murray Jackson (Danielle) of North Bay, Louise Clarke (Steve) of North Bay and Cindy Deschene (Chris) of Stoney Creek; Grandfather of Trevor, Tara, Tyler, Melissa and Keith and Great-Grandfather of Leland and Grace. Allan was the dear brother of Evelyn Johnston of North Bay and was predeceased by his sister Myrtle Roberts and brothers Bert, Algernon and Jim Johnston. CROOKS, Tyler Kevin George - While serving and honouring his country in Afghanistan, Corporal Tyler Crooks was taken from us on March 20, 2009, which was his 24th birthday. Tyler will be forever missed by his parents Alfred and Karen Crooks, his brother Tage and the love of his life, his fiancée Kelly Maxwell. He is survived by his Grandmother Margaret Wagner, many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. Tyler is predeceased by his Grandfather's Kevin Wagner and Archie Crooks and his Grandmother Rose Crooks. Tyler's humour and infectious smile will be sadly missed by his close friends and family. Summer cottage trips, fishing and hunting trips with his buddies will never be the same. Tyler loved his job whole heartedly and loved serving in Afghanistan for his country with the 3rd Battalion of the Royal Canadian Regiment. Tyler will always be remembered as a true Canadian HERO. He will live on forever in the hearts and minds of all of his Brothers in Arms. Tyler was excited to be coming home to marry his high-school sweetheart this summer. SWEENEY, John (Keyboard Magic) Passed away peacefully at the Brantford General Hospital on Saturday March 28th, 2009 surrounded by his loving family in his 75th year. He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years Elizabeth. Devoted Dad to Teresa Hinton (Jeff) Brian Sweeney (Kerry) and Jennifer Slamen (Kevin). Fun and loving grandfather of Stephanie and Melissa Hinton of Brantford and Leah, Eric, Alexander and Danielle Slamen of Richmond Hill. John is predeceased by his parents Catherine and Patrick of Port Glasgow Scotland. John will be sadly missed by his many relatives and friends in U.K. Canada and Florida John was retired after 24 years as an electrician for Massey Ferguson. He also enjoyed working many years of entertaining at the Old School Restaurant and in Florida. John served his apprenticeship in the shipyards in Greenock Scotland, He also worked many years for Ontario Hydro (Nanticoke), a twenty five year member of the musicians union. He served in the British army in Korea in 1952. He enjoyed his Toronto Maple Leafs, Celtic football club and golfing. Entertaining and Wee Betty were the love of his life. John has left a memory for all of you of his music on You Tube, type jbsmb in the search engine and enjoy. A great thank you to the nurses and doctors at the BGH ICU for the wonderful care of John's final days.
