PETERS, George Francis (Frank) Passed away on Wednesday, November 20th, 2008 at the age of 68. He will be missed by his wife Marie-Rose, his son Terry (Donna), his daughters Kim (Tom) and Kelly (James) and their mother Joan. His granddaughters Stephanie, Michelle, Grace, Caleigh, Aubrey and Gillian. His brothers Pierce (Helen), Robert (late Sherry), David and his sister Barbra (Joe). He also leaves behind his niece Tammy and his nephews Rob, Chad and Christopher. He will also be sadly missed by the Savoie family. CHAPMAN, Glen Isaac "Ike" Mr. Glen Isaac "Ike" Chapman, 63, of Damascus, Maryland died Saturday, November 22, 2008 at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital in Rockville. He was the husband of Brenda F. Lukian Chapman. Born May 21, 1945 in Jackson County, Minnesota, he was a son of the late Glen H. and Mabel Cook Chapman. Mr. Chapman was a veteran of the U.S. Airforce and was employed as a software developer. Surviving besides his wife, is a half-sister Elizabeth Matuska; two nieces; two nephews; and two step-children Anthony Mawer and Heather Mawer. KELLAND, Grace (nee Reid). October 23, 2008 at The Griffith-McConnell Residence, Cote St. Luc, Quebec. Loving wife of the late Frank Kelland, mother of David and Devon and grandmother of six and great-grandmother of eight. Grace was born in 1907 and lived all her years in Montreal, graduating from McGill University in 1929. Internment took place at the Mount Royal Cemetery October 27. EMOND, Christopher Joseph Andrew We have lost a remarkable member of our family. Chris Emond passed away on Monday November 24, 2008, after an incredible 62 years of life. Born with Downs Syndrome on July 31, 1946 in England, Chris moved with his parents to Ottawa in 1947. With the support of Lucy McCordick-Boisvenue and Community Living, Chris lived an independent and productive adult life in Renfrew. He held many jobs there, but none that he enjoyed more than working for his longtime friend, Barry Breen. Chris became the self-proclaimed official ribbon cutter at most opening ceremonies in Renfrew and would arrive fully prepared with his own ribbon and scissors, impeccably dressed in suit and tie. Chris also attended all Town Council meetings as long as his health permitted and Mayor Howard Haramis eventually named him Deputy Mayor of Renfrew! He was so proud of his honorary title. Because of his father's military career, Chris was able to join the Royal Canadian Legion, and marched in Remembrance Day parades in Renfrew for many years. He was a vibrant member of the Renfrew community and an inspiration to all who knew him. It was a loss when they were no longer able to see his smiling face as he walked downtown every day. Chris is predeceased by his father Ernest and his loving mother Elizabeth Emond. He has left an empty space in the heart of his brother Phil and his wife Sherry (Sherry Baby to Chris!!), along with their children Matthew, Ryan and Ariana. He is also survived by his brothers Robert (Danielle) and Paul (Donna) and their families all of Ottawa. Many people contributed to Chris being able to live up to his potential and realize his dreams, but it would have been impossible without the dedication, determination, friendship and love of Lucy McCordick-Boisvenue. We will be forever grateful. Friends may call at the Anderson Funeral Home, 22 Raglan St. S., Renfrew on Wednesday from 7 - 9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in Calvary Pentecostal Church, Renfrew on Thursday November 27th at 1 p.m. Cremation to follow. STARKEY, Patricia Ruth (Pat) - Unexpectedly, after a short illness at the Kenora Hospital, Pat died peacefully on Nov. 17. She is survived by her beloved husband, Tom Brown and one loving son, Jack William Brown. She was the daughter of Mrs. Eileen Starkey and the late Len Starkey of Gananoque. Her brother, Jack Starkey, and his family also survive in Oakville, Ontario. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Arthritis Society and would be thankfully acknowledged by the family. BETTS, Doreen (nee Hayes) March 3, 1924 - November 18, 2008 Doreen Betts, beloved wife and best friend of Doug, passed away peacefully on November 18, 2008 at the age of 84 years. Doreen was born in Sunderland, Great Britain to Frank and Isabella (Betty) Hayes. The family immigrated to Canada in 1924 and resided in Banff, AB. Doreen met and married Doug in 1945. She loved to play golf, travel and spend time with her grandchildren. Besides her loving husband of sixty-three years, she is survived by her son Don and daughter-in-law Jane and her three cherished grandchildren, Nicole, Dan and Brian. She is also survived by her brother Don of Jasper, niece Terry and nephews Scott and Richard as well as numerous grandnieces and grandnephews. MACDONALD, David Duncan. 1919-2008. After a courageous battle with cancer Dave passed away peacefully at the St. Anne's Veteran Hospital in his ninetieth year. Dave served overseas for five years with the Royal Montreal Regiment. He was an avid rifleman and traveled to South Africa, New Zealand and Australia with the Regimental Rifle Club. He was an active curler at St. Anne's Curling Club and received an honorary lifetime membership. He was predeceased by his brothers Bill (Phyllis), Jim (Joan), Duncan (Bernice) and survived by his loving sister Jean Poirier and her daughter Judy who was his lifeline. Dear uncle Dave will be sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews and their families. We wish to thank the staff at St. Anne's for their loving care. A memorial service will be held at Collins Clarke MacGillivray White, Pointe Claire, 222 Autoroute 20 on Saturday, December 6, 2008 at 11 a.m. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service. DE ROSE, Carmine 2008-11-25 It is with great sadness that the family of Mr. Carmine De Rose, age 90 years of Dublin Avenue, announce his peaceful passing in hospital with his family by his side on Saturday, November 22, 2008. Carmine was born in Belsito, Italy on April 26, 1918. He served in the Italian Army during The Second World War. He had many interesting stories of his time spent in Africa and England. On February 19, 1949 he married Annina Prezio and they spent 56 wonderful years together. In 1951 Carmine immigrated to Canada to find a better life for his family, leaving behind his wife and infant daughter. He worked at various jobs in Montreal and Toronto then became employed by the C.N.R.. In 1953, he was joined by his wife and daughter, they settled in Sioux Lookout and lived there for the next 30 years. In 1983 Carmine retired from the C.N. Railroad, and he and Anna moved to Thunder Bay to be near family. Carmine loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He looked forward to having a game of cards with his family and friends. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed gardening and took great pride in his harvest, sharing it with all. Carmine was a member of St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church and belonged to the St. Anthony’s Seniors Club. Carmine’s family always came first and were always in his thoughts. His generosity and big heart was felt by everyone he knew. He will be forever missed. Carmine is survived by his daughters Mira Arella and Adela De Rose (Rob) both of Thunder Bay; and son Tony De Rose (Jackie) of Winnipeg; grandchildren Carm Morancy (Jim), Robert Arella (Liz) both of Thunder Bay, Aleisha De Rose (James), Erin Unrau-De Rose (Adam) and Brenon De Rose all of Winnipeg; great grand children MacKenzie and Matthew Morancy and Caitlyn, Sarah and Alex Arella. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives in Sioux Lookout, Toronto, Montreal and Italy. Predeceased by his beloved wife, Annina in November of 2004; parents Antonio and Maria De Rose; brothers Vincenzo, Michele and Santino; sister Angelina and son in law Eugenio Arella. Funeral Services for the late Mr. Carmine De Rose will be held on Friday, November 28, 2008 leaving the EVEREST FUNERAL CHAPEL, 299 Waverley St. at Algoma, at 8:50 a.m. to St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church for the Funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. Entombment to follow in Our Lady of Charity Mausoleum, St. Andrew’s Cemetery. Frère Benoit Marcoux F.É.C. Frère Benoît Marcoux, de la communauté des Frères des Écoles Chrétiennes, est décédé à la Maison St-Joseph, 2555, ch. des Quatre-Bourgeois, Québec, le 21 novembre 2008, à l'âge de 86 ans. Fils d'Adélard Marcoux et de Marie-Délia Drouin, il naquit à Thetford Mines, le 29 novembre 1922. Entré chez les F.É.C. en 1939, il travailla particulièrement à la formation des aspirants et des novices de la communauté, d'abord à la maison provinciale de Ste-Foy, puis à Compton. Il fut animateur au centre de pastorale «Villa des Jeunes», à St-Augustin-de-Desmaures, pendant plusieurs années. Il fut aussi adjoint du supérieur provincial, à Québec et en Haïti. Il laisse dans le deuil, outre les membres de sa famille religieuse, ses soeurs: Isabelle (feu Jean-Paul Poiré), Rita (feu Gaston Vaillancourt), Denise, s.c.q., Claudette, c.n.d. et Madeleine (feu Roger Rousseau); son frère: Guy (Lisette Héroux); des belles-soeurs: Denise Bourbeau (feu Patrice), Madeleine Brodeur (feu Rock) et Nicole L'Heureux (feu Denis); un beau-frère: Marcel Mathieu (Simone Veilleux) ainsi que plusieurs neveux, nièces, cousins, cousines et amis. Il était également le frère de feu Émilien Marcoux (dame feu Florence Corriveau). ROBINSON, Charles MacGregor - Charles MacGregor Robinson of Owen Sound and formally of Meaford, passed away peacefully and with his family by his side on November 23rd, 2008, in his 88th year. Loving husband of 61 years and survived by his wife, Catherine (Sanderson). Dear father of Mac, father-in-law of Jennifer and doting, proud and much loved grandfather of Duncan and Laura. Known as Charlie or Mac to family and friends in Meaford, and Greg to friends, fellow fishermen and customers in Owen Sound, he was the son of E. Leonard Robinson and Marjorie (Sewell). Orphaned shortly after birth, he was raised in the Meaford home of his grandparents, Leonard B. and Alice Maude (Glover) Sewell, and under the care of his mother's siblings Naine, Gordon and especially Laura. A veteran of WW II, he served aboard the destroyer HMCS Huron during North Atlantic convoy mission and in 1988 was decorated with the USSR's Medal of Victory. Following the war, he was employed for 41 years by Grafton & Co. until his retirement. Greg was a member of North Star Masonic Lodge and The HMCS Huron Association. A private graveside service will be held at Lakeview Cemetery in Meaford. 11332923

DESSUREAULT, Jeannine Boucher - The family of Jeannine Dessureault sadly announces her passing at her residences on Sunday November 23rd 2008 at the age of 62. Mother of Manon Dessureault, Stephan Dessureault (Raven) and Nancy Gage (Mike), loving daughter of Edouard and Claire Boucher, dear sister of Real (Madelaine), Raymond(Gyhslaine), Jacques (Rollande), Denise (Raynald) and Rollande Boucher. She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren; Richard, Rene, Karter, Summer , Mackenzie and Brady. Jeannine was a member of the Filles D'Isabelle and was a volunteer for the Club Social.
