Survived by his wife, Joyce (Burns) Bridges; children, Philip (Patti) Bridges, Margaret “Maggie” (Alan) Clarkin, Scott (Krista) Bridges; grandchildren, Blaize and Bronwyn Bridges; Jayce, Alana and Colton Clarkin; Brett, Haiden, Ilena and Koby Bridges; brother, Earl (Myrna) Bridges, Edmonton, Alta.; sister, Shirley Adams, Kensington; brother-in-law, Derek (Bonnie) Burns, Charlottetown; sister-in-law, Brenda Burns, Toronto, Ont.; mother-in-law, Peggy Burns, Summerside; and by a special uncle, William Bridges, Mount Pleasant. Predeceased by a sister, Carrie Foy-Be; stepfather, Montgomery Owen; and by a brother-in-law, David Adams. Resting at the Moase Funeral Home, Summerside, until Saturday, then to Trinity United Church, Summerside, where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Interment in People’s Cemetery, Summerside. WOODROW, Susan - It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Susan Woodrow (née Boucher) at the Kirkland & District Hospital on Saturday, November 15, 2008. She will be dearly missed by her beloved husband of 33 years, Doug. SANDOZ-BANKS Deborah - (in her 59th year) passed away peacefully at home in Barrie, on Monday, November 10th, 2008. Deborah Sandoz-Banks, beloved wife of Garnet Banks, cherished sister of Janet McFarlane (wife of John, Saratoga, CA) and brother David Sandoz (husband of Melinda), Mission Viego, CA, loved aunt of Andra McFarlene (Atlanta, GA), Kirstin Mcfarlene (Saratoga, CA), Stephen Sandoz (husband of Libby. Ocean Springs, MS) and Michael Sandoz (Barrie, ON). Cherished daughter of the late Oscar and Audrey Sandoz. She is also survived by loving mother-in-law Aileen Sheila Parker, sister-in-law Patricia Brady (wife of Cecil), nieces Shala (and John), Christina (and Peter) and nephews Allen and Dana: Step-children James Banks and Dale Smith (and Mike). A most dedicated teacher, Deborah was born in Halifax, NS and grew up in Ottawa, ON. A graduate of Nepean HS in Ottawa, Deborah went to Queen's University, Kingston, for her B.A. (Hons) then to (U of T) for her M.E.D. She began teaching in Wasaga Beach and completed her career in Barrie except for a 3 year secondment to Nippissing University to share her experience with new teachers. She retired from her teaching career at West Bayfield School in 2007. Loved by family and friends, Deborah was a kind and unique person and enjoyed the natural wonders of the world; we will all miss her dearly. An open house celebration of her life will be held Saturday, November 29, 2008 from 2-6 at 26 Carr Drive in Barrie. BAKER, Margaret Ann Beloved friend to many, passed away on Wednesday, November 19, 2008 in the Cardston Health Center, Cardston, Alberta at the age of 88 years. Margaret was born in Killarney, Manitoba on April 10, 1920, then moved with her family to White Rock, B.C. Margaret spent her years from age seventeen to seventy-one in institutional care. In March of 1991, Margaret came to live with Edra Pilling in Abbotsford, B.C. there Margaret became acquainted with Jody Egger who was also in the Pilling home. Although Margaret and Jody liked to "push each other's buttons", their fraternal love and bonding was evident and ever present, right to the end. Margaret will be greatly missed by all the Pilling family and especially Jody Egger. It was at this time, 1991, that Margaret became reacquainted with her brother, Dr. James Baker, and his children in Victoria, B.C. Margaret was able to visit yearly with them and became especially fond of her nieces, JoMarie and Suzzane. Margaret was predeceased by her parents, Hugh and Marjorie Baker, and three brothers - James, Stanley and Burt. Margaret loved knitting, doing jigsaw puzzles and collecting photos of friends and family. Margaret will be fondly remembered by all who knew her, her beautiful smile will be a pleasure to remember. BROWN, Verna Florence (nee Moxley) Passed away peacefully at the Mayfair Care Centre in Calgary, Alberta, at the age of 90 years. She was born in Ottawa, Ontario on August 30, 1918. She married Frank Brown, a soldier from Didsbury, Alberta, on June 29, 1945, in Ottawa. One year later they moved west to Alberta, where they settled and raised their family. Verna will be sadly missed by her three daughters and sons-in-law, Sherylle and Ken Embree of Port Coquitlam, B.C.; Donna and Gordon Smith of Calgary, Alberta; and Cindy and Gerhard Wiens of Winnipeg, Manitoba; her three grandchildren Shannon (and James) Hennig, Kevin Smith and Makara Wiens, along with other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Frank in 1999, her brother Thomas Moxley and two sisters, Beatrice Quigg and Elsie Currie, and her mother Florence Moxley. Verna was a very faithful and loving wife, mother and friend. McCULLOUGH, Elizabeth (nee Wright) Beth McCullough passed away suddenly in Calgary on November 15, 2008 at the age of 58 years. Beth is sadly missed by her husband of thirty-three years, Mark; children Megan and Benjamin; granddaughter Brooklyn; her parents, Gordon and Isabel Wright; siblings Ken (Grace), Jim (Frida) and Kathy (Ian), along with many, many family members and friends. Beth earned degrees in Occupational Therapy and Social Work and contributed her knowledge and skills to vulnerable populations in a variety of agency and government settings in Edmonton and Calgary, where she was highly respected by her colleagues. She and Mark built a life together, supporting each other's accomplishments, raising two children, helping raise a grandchild and travelling extensively. Beth was always there to listen and provide compassion and advice. She loved cooking, sewing, crafts and reading, especially when doing them with her granddaughter. Beth delighted in seeing the world anew through the eyes of her granddaughter and enjoyed many four-generation family gatherings. ROHL, Gerald (Gerry) Alexander August 6, 1938 - November 20, 2008 Gerry Rohl, beloved husband of Darlla Rohl of Calgary, passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2008 at the age of 70 years after a short courageous battle with cancer. Gerry was born to Mary and Philip Rohl and raised in Calgary. He attended Bridgeland Jr. High and Crescent Heights Senior High. Following graduation, Gerry worked at Imperial Optical in charge of stock, which started his career in the Optical business. Gerry was co-owner with Al Hardstaff of Chinook Optical for numerous years. Even after retirement, Gerry enjoyed working part-time for the new owner. In his spare time Gerry enjoyed the outdoors camping and fishing with his family. He took great pride in his home and garden. Besides his loving wife Darlla, Gerry is survived by his two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Kathy and Darryl and Teresa; two grandchildren Tyler and Melissa; and sister Lois Durheim of Spokane, WA. STODOLA, Peter 1913 - 2008 Peter Stodola passed away suddenly on November 18, 2008 at the age of 95. Peter was born at Skaro, Alberta to parents Michael and Tilly Stodola (Nee Kutney). He is survived by his wife Mary, daughters Nadia (David), Mary-Jo, and son Michael (Gisele); two half-brothers and one stepsister; stepdaughter Joanne (Jerry), stepsons Michael (Dianna) and Dan (Lee), as well as six grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, and seven step-great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife Sophie in 1974. Peter moved from farming to construction at an early age and became very successful in his own Redi-mix Concrete business operating in Calgary and then Saskatoon. He was active with the Shriners in both cities. Peter loved life and people and was a model of integrity for all of those who knew him. Peter will be dearly missed by family and friends. Prayers will be held on Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at 7:30 p.m. at LEYDEN'S CHAPEL of Remembrance (corner of 17 Avenue and 2 Street S.W.). Hans Joachim “Joe” Klinke died peacefully November 11, 2008 at the Temiskaming Lodge after a lengthy illness. He was 80. He was born in Munster, Germany on April 30, 1928 and immigrated with his wife Hildegard to Canada in 1953. He and his family moved from Toronto to Haileybury in 1968 where he owned and operated the Lakeshore Hotel for 25 years. Afterwards, Mr. and Mrs. Klinke relocated to New Liskeard to enjoy their retirement. Mr. Klinke then became increasingly ill and moved to the Temiskaming Lodge in September, 2005. Mr. Klinke is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Hildegard; his sister Irmtraud (Paul) Richters and nephew John Richters and family of Lantzville, British Columbia; his children, Karen Klinke, Peter (Sue) Klinke, Brenda (John) Henderson and grandchildren Terri Klinke (Jeff Davis) and future great-grandson, Katie Henderson, Erika, Heidi and Jacob Klinke; and he will also be sadly missed by Natalie Henderson and Sara Swaine. Daniel (Dan) Mullin The death of Daniel (Dan) Mullin husband of Blanche (Hill) Mullin of Boom Road, NB, occurred on Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at the Miramichi Regional Hospital at the age of 79. Born in Boom Road, NB, he was the son of the late Marshall and Mary (McAllister) Mullin. Dan was retired self-employed woodsmen who over the years also worked at the Fish Hatchery and the Co-op. He attended Boom Road Pentecostal Church. Besides his wife: Blanche, Dan is survived by: four daughters: Margaret McAllister (Courtney) of Boom Road, NB; Donna Washburn of Loggieville, NB; Brenda Curtis (Mike) of Boom Road, NB; Juanita Robichaud (Jerry) of Warwick Settlement, NB; six sons: Wilfred (Susan) of Sunny Corner, NB; George (Myrna); Guy all of Boom Road, NB; Ralph (Carla) of Sunny Corner, NB; Brian (Jamie) of Red Bank, NB; Michael of Nunavik; four sisters: Jessie McAllister of Moncton, NB; Nelda Mullin (Wilbur) of Strathadam, NB; Mabel McGuire (Samuel), Vera Porter all of Miramichi, NB; two brothers: Elwin (Christina) of Boom Road, NB; Paul (Margaret) of South Esk, NB; nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Organist was Mary Matheson; Soloist Blair Baisley sang "I Can't Even Walk Without You Holding My Hand" and " Tears are a language God Understands". Congregational Hymns " In The Sweet By and By" and " The Old Rugged Cross". Eulogy was given by Granddaughters Barbara Vanderbeck, Shannon Silliker and Amber Vautour. Active Pallbearers were: Jonathan Curtis, Marshall Mullin, Tommy McAllister, Brad Vautour, Robert Vanderbeck and Jason Mullin.
