ROBINSON, John Durward (Jack) - It's with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Dad, Grandpa & GG at home the evening of Friday November 07, 2008 in his 91st yr. Beloved husband of the late Hazel (2004), loved father of Durward (Dewey) & Cindy; cherished Grandpa of Mark (Lynda Galloway) & Paul (Lindsey McIntyre); special GG to Haley McIntyre- Robinson. Predeceased by parents Annie & William & younger sister Margaret (1936). Dad was a quiet, dedicated man & family role model. He was proud to say that he still lived in his Paris home of 55 yrs & fought hard since 2006 to stay ahead of his cancer. Dad served in the RCAF during WWII; he was a volunteer Fire Fighter on the Paris Fire Dept for 37 years; was a founding & past member of the Paris Curling Club. Friends may call at the WM. KISH, Ernest - Passed away at the Greater Niagara General Hospital on Thursday November 6, 2008 after a long, courageous battle with arthritis and heart disease. Ernie was predeceased by his loving wife Anne in November, 2005. He will be sadly missed by his children Diana (Jim) McGregor of Niagara Falls and Ernie Kish Jr. of Penticton, B.C. Ernie was also a devoted and loving grandfather to Erin and Ryan Clark, Jamie McGregor and Brendan Kish and a first time great-grandfather to Charlotte Clark. He will be fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews and the many friends he made throughout his life at lawn bowling, the Oneida Company and Burgess Battery. Special thanks to Dr. David Dec, Dr. Greenway, the nurses on Trillium wing and the staff at Lundy Manor for their kindness and excellent care. ROBINSON, Bertram (Robbie) Charles Peacefully at the Woodstock General Hospital, on Wednesday November 6, 2008. Bertram (Robbie) Charles Robinson of Woodstock in his 83rd year. Beloved husband of Marjorie Robinson (nee Tucsok). Loved father of Kerri Robinson and her friend Ray Powell of Collingwood. Loved step-father of Brian Green and his wife Crystal of Princeton, and Denise Lambkin and her husband Lawrence of Woodstock. Dear father-in-law of Denise St. Pierre. Cherished grandfather of six grandchildren. Dear brother of Jim Robinson of Port Stanley. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his son Kevin Robinson and by two sisters and one brother. Bertram was employed with the Canadian Armed Forces for 39 years. B.C. Robinson proudly served in England, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany during World War II, involved in the D-Day drop into Normandy, Rhine drop 'Operation Varsity' and 'Operation Gaylord'. He served in Korea, in Quebec during the FLQ crisis, and in Cyprus, and lived throughout Canada and Germany during his career. Most years of service were in the 1st Royal Canadian Regiment and the 1st Canadian Parachute Battallion, Airborn Regiment. A Recipient of: The MMM, 1939-45, UN Service Medal-Korea, UN Force in Cyprus Medal, Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp, Canadian Centennial Medal, Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Medal, and 'Ambassador for Peace' award from the people of the Republic of Korea. DOWNS, Eunice (nee Bunting). Passed away peacefully in Fort Erie, Ontario on Saturday, November 8, 2008 in her eightieth year. HONSBERGER, Richard. An authentic, fun-loving man who was a hero to those who knew him, Richard passed away peacefully on Friday, November 7, 2008, surrounded by family and friends. He battled cancer courageously for two years and never lost his sense of humor. His deep love of music, cooking, photography and cars will be remembered by us all. He will be dearly missed by his wife Sabina Agostino, his parents Ross and Nancy Honsberger, his sisters Sandy (Alfred) and Leslie (Norman), sister-in-law Laura, brother-in-law Immanuel, and the entire in-law family, nephews, niece, his closest friends, and of course his dogs Coco and Antoine. Linda (George Benn) of Chateauguay, Joni (Garry Wells) of Aylmer, QC, grandsons, John (Bonnie McDonald) of Brampton, Ont, and James (Darlene D'Silva) of Belleville, ON, great grandsons Jason Benn of Chateauguay, Jamie Benn (Natasha) presently in Afghanistan, Shawn and Matthew Kennelly both of Ottawa, ON, Corey, Justin and Spencer King, all of Brampton, ON, and great grandchildren Nathan and Kendra King both of Belleville, ON, great great grandsons, Christopher Benn of Chateauguay and Adrien Benn of Petawawa, ON. OBITUARY ALAN G. YEOMAN Fifty-four, with great sadness, the family of Alan Yeoman informs you of his death on November 4, 2008. He went gentle into the night. Alan had battled lung cancer for the past two years. Alan was born October 30, 1954 in Moncton, the son of the late Mark Yeoman, Q.C. and Sylvia Yeoman, C.M., Granville Ferry. He grew up in Dorchester, NB. and attended Dorchester Consolidated School and Tantramar Regional High School. His work in theatre, designing, building props and scenery, took him to many parts of the country which he won awards for. The past eight years he lived in Montreal, working at the Centaur Theatre. For the last two weeks of his life, Alan was in Annapolis Royal, NS, in order to be close to family, and he died surrounded by those who loved him. His parting is much regretted by his brothers, sisters and loving mother. The family will hold a memorial and celebration of his life on Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at 2 p.m., at St. Luke's Anglican Church, Annapolis Royal, NS. FITZSIMMONS, Ruth Annie Louise (nee Coupland) March 21, 1916 - November 7, 2008 Ruth was born in Calgary, Alberta to Minnie Ethel (nee Waller) of Cookham, England and John (Jack) Goldsworthy Coupland of Liverpool, England. At the age of four Ruth moved to Richdale, Alberta where she completed Grade eleven, and then went to the Olds Agricultural College to study Nutrition. She apprenticed in the Richdale postoffice under her father. In 1940 she accepted a position in the postoffice in Delia, Alberta. Here she met and married Norman Austin Fitzsimmons on January 1, 1941. Ethel Prudence (George) Watts of Peterborough, Ontario was born to them on December 5, 1941. From 1942 to 1945 Norman served overseas in England and Holland. Ruth and Prue moved to Calgary, Alberta. John (Jack) William (Ivy), now of Medicine Hat, was born after the war on April 15, 1949. Ruth and Norman joined First Baptist Church, Calgary, where her father and grandfather were members. They were involved in Cubs, the Mary Beard Mission Circle and the Couples Club. They became charter members of Kingsland Baptist Church. In 1959 Ruth returned to work at the Chinook Mall postoffice. In 1962 they moved to Spirit River, Alberta. Ruth worked in the postoffice and Norman homesteaded and delivered rural mail. In 1973 they moved to Fort Simpson, Northwest Territories, where Ruth was the Post Master for seven and a half years and Norman was the Supervisor of Government Housing. In 1981 they retired to Calgary where Norman died on July 22, 1981. Ruth again became involved with First Baptist Church, Missions, Deacons and Open Door Seniors. She won a Silver Medal in Scrabble at the Calgary Senior Olympics. 1992 saw her move to Peterborough, Ontario where she was involved in Murray Street Baptist Church, Missions, Baptist Women and many prayer and bible studies. She bowled, attended a book club and watched her grandchildren Brent (Lisa) Watts, Karen (John) Plater, Mark (Patti) Watts mature. Great-grandchildren Taylor, Emma and Zachery Watts and Ethan, Hayden, and Selina Ruth Watts loved Granny. Ruth loved to travel and frequently visited grandchildren Melissa Fitzsimmons Crocker (Andrew), Scott (Sharlene) and Shannon Fitzsimmons in Kindersley and Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Brooks and Calgary, Alberta. Thank you to Burnham Street Apartments, St. John's Centre, Peterborough Manor and Riverview Manor who cared for Ruth as her vision and hearing deteriorated. Thank you to PRHC, especially Nancy RN, and the doctors who eased Ruth's pain on November 7, 2008. In lieu of flowers Ruth asked for donations to Operation Eyesight Universal or The Bible Society. A Celebration of Ruth's Life will be held at Murray Street Baptist Church, Peterborough on Tuesday, November 11, at 2:00 p.m. with a reception following. BILOSKI, Rose 2008-11-10 Mrs. Rose Biloski, age 87 years, lifelong resident of Thunder Bay, passed away on Saturday, November 8, 2008. Her main interests were her family, home, cooking and entertaining. Nobody left Rose‘s house hungry! WAKEFIELD, Norma 2008-11-10 Mrs. Norma Wakefield, age 72 years, a resident of East Avenue, passed away unexpectedly at her residence on Friday, November 7, 2008. Born in 1936, Norma grew up in the city, working for a number of years in the laundry department of the Port Arthur General Hospital. After she married her husband Clifford in 1955, Norma devoted her life to raising her family. An avid bowler with countless trophies, she loved to play bingo and, in later years, enjoyed going to camp at Arrow Lake where she had many happy memories. As well, she was a very skilled singer and guitarist. Norma will be sadly missed by her daughters Teri (Dan) Baxter, Christine (Roger) Yurick and Kelly (Norm) Clement; grandchildren: David, Keith and Brian Malette, Billy Baxter, Julie Bernard, Tammy Cameron, David Baxter, Richard, Ryan and Russell Yurick, Jason and Lea Clement; 12 great grandchildren; siblings: Helen (Graham) Avery, Ruth (Cliff) Billard, Len (Marg) Anderson, and Larry (Irene) Anderson. Numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives also survive. She was predeceased by her husband Clifford in 1996, parents Arvid and Svea Anderson, and by sisters Vera Hovey and Shirley Smith. TRENKER-Constance Maybelle (May) passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Saturday, November 8, 2008 at the age of 85. She was predeceased by her sister, Florence Moats. JESSOP, Agnes Helen Nan Jessop passed away on September 29, 2008 after a lengthy illness. Predeceased by her loving husband of 58 years, Don, her parents Henry and Helen Williamson, brothers Harry, Bill, Hugh and Danny. Survived by her three daughters, Donna, Brenda (Jim) and Linda (Cal), grandchildren, Don (Kym) and Teresa, great grandson Hunter, sister Grace, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews in Great Britian. Nan grew up in Stranraer, Scotland. She met Don when he was stationed nearby and they were married in 1946. They came to Canada and settled in Victoria where they raised their daughters. She took pride in her work at the old Victoria General Hospital and gave many hours of her time to helping others, particularly at the Gorge Road Hospital after her retirement. But her family came first. Nan loved her family very much, always ready with a word of advice or a helping hand. Mum loved nothing more than to see her whole family together for Sunday dinner. Her family and many friends will miss her energy and enthusiasm for life. Many thanks to Dr. Donaldson and the staff of Fairfield Unit at Glengarry Hospital for your kindness and excellent care during Nan's final years.
