Lynda was a student at the Lutheran School for the Deaf at Detroit, Michigan and received her high school education at Belleville, Ont. School for the Deaf. DENNIS, John Delos - Passed away at the Norfolk General Hospital on Sunday, November 9, 2008. Mr. John Dennis of Foster St. Simcoe in his 89th year. Son of the late Earl and Myrtle Dennis and much beloved husband of the late Margaret Dennis (February 1991) He is survived by his loving son; Robert Dennis and his wife Corrie of Brantford, loving daughter; Brenda Lee of Simcoe (predeceased by son-in-law; Douglas Lee, June 2008), cherished grandfather of Karen Rosehart (Don) of Simcoe and Barbara Smith (Jason) of Brantford and predeceased by Kevin. And great-grandfather of Nathan, Abigail, Jacob, Ethan and Austin. Also surviving is his brother-in-law; Arnold Boyd of Quebec and sister-in-law; Leona Bell (Harry) of Ottawa, nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his sister; Rena Andress and brother; Layard Dennis (Marion). Mr. Dennis served with the Royal Canadian Air Force during W.W.II, was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #79, Simcoe, a past member of the Odd Fellows Lodge #161, Simcoe and a life member of the Norfolk Drifters Camp Club. John was a mechanic for the American Can Company for many years. BARCLAY, (nee: Edge) Noreen - Of Port Colborne died peacefully at her home on Saturday November 8, 2008 after a courageous battle against ALS (Lou Gehrig Disease). Beloved soul mate of John Lees. Loving mother of Kim Barclay, Michael and Gillian Barclay and Sue and Mark Rogers and her late son Chris Barclay. Cherished Nana of Myles and Skye Rogers and Isabel Barclay. Nana was also excited about the upcoming birth of her next grandchild. Sister of Bill and Sue Edge of Plymouth, England. She will be missed by her cousins Erin and Dave Schneider of Ottawa. Noreen contributed to thousands of lives as a teacher with the Niagara South Board of Education for nearly 20 years. She also inspired and was inspired by her fellow artists at the Briny Breezes Art League in Florida. OBITUARY ALAN G. YEOMAN Fifty-four, with great sadness, the family of Alan Yeoman informs you of his death on November 4, 2008. He went gentle into the night. Alan had battled lung cancer for the past two years. Alan was born October 30, 1954 in Moncton, the son of the late Mark Yeoman, Q.C. and Sylvia Yeoman, C.M., Granville Ferry. He grew up in Dorchester, NB. and attended Dorchester Consolidated School and Tantramar Regional High School. His work in theatre, designing, building props and scenery, took him to many parts of the country which he won awards for. The past eight years he lived in Montreal, working at the Centaur Theatre. For the last two weeks of his life, Alan was in Annapolis Royal, NS, in order to be close to family, and he died surrounded by those who loved him. His parting is much regretted by his brothers, sisters and loving mother. The family will hold a memorial and celebration of his life on Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at 2 p.m., at St. Luke's Anglican Church, Annapolis Royal, NS. HOLUB, Sherron Sherron Holub, passed away at the Peterlougheed Hospital on November 6, 2008, at the age of 67 years. Sherron will be lovingly remembered by her children; Brad (Carrie) Holub and Robyn (James) Rotteau and six grandchildren; Alexandra, Michael, Elliot, Shae, Tait and Gabriella. Sherron was diagnosed with Scleroderma at the age of twenty-three; she struggled with the illness and its after effects her entire life, but she always kept a positive attitude. Family and friends always came first and were everything to Sherron. This is evident by her strength and commitment in raising her two adopted children, as well as her many lifelong friendships, regardless of how ill she was feeling. Sherron found a source of comfort and assurance with the Scleroderma foundation as she very much wanted to help find a cure for this debilitating disease. REID, Reginald The death occurred peacefully at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Friday, November 7, 2008, of Mr. Reginald “Reg” Reid of Charlottetown and formerly of Murray Harbour North, age 82 years. Reg is also lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Max, Caroline and Sam Reid; Reid, Malcolm and Jon Thomas Ling; Reggie, Maggie and Derek Jameson; sisters and brothers Ethel Sweeney, Priscilla Richards, Sterling Reid and Gordon (Margaret) Reid; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers and sisters Lloyd, Rena Stewart, Alexia King, Ivan, Gordon (in infancy), Stewart and Annie Reid. WAKEFIELD, Norma 2008-11-10 Mrs. Norma Wakefield, age 72 years, a resident of East Avenue, passed away unexpectedly at her residence on Friday, November 7, 2008. Born in 1936, Norma grew up in the city, working for a number of years in the laundry department of the Port Arthur General Hospital. After she married her husband Clifford in 1955, Norma devoted her life to raising her family. An avid bowler with countless trophies, she loved to play bingo and, in later years, enjoyed going to camp at Arrow Lake where she had many happy memories. As well, she was a very skilled singer and guitarist. Norma will be sadly missed by her daughters Teri (Dan) Baxter, Christine (Roger) Yurick and Kelly (Norm) Clement; grandchildren: David, Keith and Brian Malette, Billy Baxter, Julie Bernard, Tammy Cameron, David Baxter, Richard, Ryan and Russell Yurick, Jason and Lea Clement; 12 great grandchildren; siblings: Helen (Graham) Avery, Ruth (Cliff) Billard, Len (Marg) Anderson, and Larry (Irene) Anderson. Numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives also survive. She was predeceased by her husband Clifford in 1996, parents Arvid and Svea Anderson, and by sisters Vera Hovey and Shirley Smith. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 12, 2008 in the Chapel of Harbourview Funeral Centre, 499 North Cumberland Street, presided by Pastor Allan Piper of Westfort Baptist Church. Interment will take place in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the time of service.
