BILOSKI, Rose 2008-11-10 Mrs. Rose Biloski, age 87 years, lifelong resident of Thunder Bay, passed away on Saturday, November 8, 2008. Her main interests were her family, home, cooking and entertaining. Nobody left Rose‘s house hungry! Rose will be lovingly remembered by her children Jackie Billard (Lorne), Pat Portelance, Mike (Sue), Rosemary Loyer (Armand) and daughter-in-law Ruth. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, nieces and nephews. Vincent (Bud) Underhill The death of Bud Underhill occurred on Thursday, November 6th, 2008 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Bud was born in Blackville, NB on February 20, 1935 to the late Herman and Agnes (Donahue) Underhill and is the last surviving member of the Underhill family. BANKS-Evelyn Mae (Irwin) passed away peacefully on November 7, 2008 at the Gainsborough and Area Health Centre at the age of 85. Evelyn was born at Meyronne, Saskatchewan, May 26, 1923. As a lifelong advocate for the proper use of the English language, Evelyn attended Moose Jaw Normal School and taught in Regina and several rural schools. While teaching at Arthur School in Auburnton she met Roy Banks. They married in 1947. Evelyn and Roy raised a family and farmed north of Oxbow until retiring to Oxbow in 1970. They enjoyed many family camping trips, traveled widely and in retirement spent winters in Weslaco, TX. Evelyn transformed the stories of growing up during the Dirty Thirties into articles for the Saskatchewan History and Folklore Society's Folklore magazine. Evelyn was active in the National Farmers Union, NDP, United Church, Order of the Eastern Star, Oxbow Ladies Reading Club, Oxbow Art Club, Ada Staples Library, South East Library Board, Oxbow History Book, Donor's Choice and the Friendship Club of Oxbow. Predeceased by her parents Leota and Walter Irwin; husband Roy; daughter Irene; sisters Elizabeth Hartz and Doris Smallshaw and brothers Nelson Irwin and Aden Irwin. Survived by her son Walter (Laura) Banks of Waterloo, ON; daughters Sheila (Reg) Glennie of Wadena, SK and Karen (Dick) McMurray of Kitchener, ON; sister Edith (Jack) Stead; and grandchildren Kelsey Glennie, Kyall Glennie, Katherine(Richard) Walsh, Carleton Banks and Devin Glennie. SWINDELLS, Florence H. (nee Dyer) Peacefully in her 95th year on Saturday, November 8, 2008 at Carlingview Manor. Predeceased by her beloved husband Henry (Harry) Swindells in 1976. Dear daughter of Elizabeth and George Dyer of Ottawa. Sister of Evelyn Stinson (Howard) of Ottawa, June Lebreton (Stanley) of Carleton Place, and Walter Dyer (Leona) of Perth. Predeceased by brothers George (Mildred) and Edwin (Eileen), and sisters Dorothy (Ronald Lake), Hazel (Glen Cumming) and Edna (Ken Potter). Florence will be lovingly remembered by her nieces, her nephews, her grandnieces and her grandnephews. She will be deeply missed by Darlene, Thomas and Rosemary. She was a long-time dedicated volunteer (35 years) at the Riverside Hospital, an avid bridge player, and an active member of the St. Thomas the Apostle Church on Alta Vista Drive. We will miss her strength and good humour.
