JONES, Grace Amelia (nee Keat) - It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Grace (Mom, Grandma, Great-Grandma, aunt, sister-in-law and friend) on Saturday, November 1, 2008 at Peterborough Regional Health Centre. Grace was the beloved wife of the late Bill Jones (November 02, 2005). Dearly loved and missed by her daughters Barbara DeCarlo (Chris), Cathy Harrison (Jill) and Christine Must (Chris). Proud Grandma of Kevin DeCarlo (Jen), Colin DeCarlo (Christina), Laurie Harrison (Doug), Jen Gallimore (Jay), Scott Harrison and Julie and Emilie Must. Loving Great-Grandma (G.G.) to Morgyn, Aiden, Owen, Jocelyn, Mikhayla and Braiden. Grace was a longtime member of Grace United Church; she volunteered at Peterborough Civic Hospital for 25 years. She shuffled with The Tuesday Group at the Navy Club and enjoyed her luncheons with her Tea Room Ladies; she will be missed by many friends at Cambridge Court Apartments; as an avid reader she enjoyed books from the DeLaFosse Branch of the Peterborough Public Library. SERVAGE, Donald Lynn June 12, 1927 November 2, 2008 - Passed away with his family at his side. Married 56 happy years to Margie (Conner). Loving father of Michael and David (Lori) and proud grandfather Erin and Elizabeth. He was predeceased by his sister Knelda (Mrs. Larry Lloyd) of Ottawa and will be missed by his many nieces and nephews who have enriched his life. A graduate of Queen's University, he enjoyed a successful career in the consulting engineering field in charge of major projects for many automotive and commercial enterprises. Don wished to bid farewell to a wide circle of treasured friends all across Canada including those at Cataraqui Golf and Country Club where he spent many enjoyable hours following his retirement and return to Kingston. In accordance with Don's wishes cremation has been completed. The family would like to thank the medical community for their care and kindness as well as the support of many friends. A memorial service will be held at the Chapel of the JAMES REID FUNERAL HOME (1900 John Counter Blvd.) on Tuesday, November 4, 2008 at 3:00 pm. DUNK, David Arnold - Peacefully at Bluewater Health Palliative Care on Sunday, November 2, 2008, David Arnold Dunk, age 68 of Corunna. Beloved husband of Jean. Loving father of Darlene (Patrick) Jenah and Allan (Brenda) Dunk. Cherished grandfather of Rachel, Erica and Ferdinand, who he loved dearly. Dear brother of Beverly (Terry) Ford, Fred (Isabelle) Dunk, Phil (Jane) Dunk and half-sister Barbara Brown. Brother-in- law to Virginia (David) Rothwell and Pat (Jim) Taylor. He will be missed by his many nieces and nephews. David served in the Royal Canadian Naval Reserve and worked for Ontario Hydro at The Hearn and Lambton Generating Station. He was a member of the Sarnia Little Theatre, the Capital Theatre Restoration Project, Sarnia Artist Workshop and Sarnia-Lambton Potters Guild. David enjoyed his pottery so much that he felt compelled to retire from Ontario Hydro to pursue his passion, which also meant teaching aboard cruise ships in recent years. His love of everything in nature took his family on camping trips from one coast of Canada to the other, making sure to stop at every historical plaque on the way. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1576 London Line, Sarnia. Interment to follow in Resurrection Cemetery. KASTNER, Teresa Lillian (Nee: Alexander) - Peacefully at St. Joseph's at Fleming on Tuesday, October 28th, 2008. Teresa, dear wife of the late Norman George (d. December 1993). Loving mother of Norman William (Kathryn) of Lakefield, the late Patricia Anne (d. 1981) (Steve) Wright, and infant Norman George (d. 1952). Proud grandmother of Jenny (Jay) Burton, and Sarah (Chaka Chikodzi). Great grandmother of Sekai. Loving sister of Hilda Strimas of Orillia, Mary Alexander of Belleville, and 5 late sisters and one brother. Cherished daughter of the late John Alexander and Mary Callaghan. Proud Godmother of nephew Michael Strimas of Ottawa. Teresa was a faithful member of St. Anne's Parish from 1956 to December, 2000 and an active C.W.L. member. She service on the Finance Committee of St. Anne's and was Treasurer of the Finance Committee during and following the building of the present Parish Centre. Teresa continued to service on this Committee until December of 2000. She will be sadly missed by her family and her many friends. STINSON, William John (Bill) - Passed away peacefully at Northumberland Hills Hospital, Saturday November 1st, 2008 in his 82nd year. He was the loving husband and best friend for 26 years of Shirley Martin. Bill is predeceased by his first wife Eleanor. He leaves his children, Jane Stinson, (Geoff Bickerton) of Ottawa, David Stinson, (Sher) of Edmonton and David Martin of Toronto. Loving grandfather of Joe Bickerton. Brother of Doug Stinson of Scarborough, Jeanne McBride of Ottawa, Eleanor Ellis (Ralph) of Toronto and the late Arthur. Brother in law of Lorraine Stinson of Ottawa. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews. Bill worked 36 years in the nuclear industry, 34 of it with Eldorado Nuclear (Cameco) in Port Hope and Blind River. He retired in 1987. THOMPSON, Helen L. - on October 29th in Montreal after 91 years of a full and happy life. Predeceased by her husband Les in 1973 and her sister Justina Draper in 2007, she is survived by her children Peter, (Wenda) Tom, (Nancy) and Gail. Also by her grandchildren Jennifer, Matthew, Katie, and Annie and by her nephew Michael Draper and her niece Mary Kenny. Helen recently returned to Montreal after 30 years in Port Hope, Ontario to be closer to family. HARVEY, Kaye “Kye“ Burke - It is with much sorrow and sadness that we announce Kye's passing after a short illness at the Greater Niagara General Hospital on Sunday November 2, 2008 at the age of 85 years. Beloved husband of 55 years to Lee (Emily). Cherished father of Cathy Fusco (James) and Beth Rybus (Ted) of Ohio. Dearly loved grandfather of Christopher, Brett and Mark Fusco, step-grandfather of Larissa and Colton Rybus. Kye was born in Giffnoch, Scotland and served as an RAF test pilot during World War II before emigrating to Canada. He was in the Advertising Department of the Niagara Falls Review for over 25 years and also operated the family business, House of Tartans, on Clifton Hill for many years. After retiring, he was a Bylaw Enforcement Officer in Sauble Beach, a Seasonal Police Officer for the Niagara Parks Police and operated Oaklands Campground and Golf Course. A member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Chippawa Branch and the Masonic Lodge, Kye was also one of the founding members of the Niagara Falls Music Theatre Society. JAMES, Clifford Wilfred (Cliff) - It is with great sadness that the family announce the passing of Cliff James at the Douglas Memorial Hospital, Fort Erie on Sunday November 2, 2008 in his 71st year. Cliff leaves behind his wife of 49 years Donna (Marr) and his son Mark and friend Erin Ruark of Baltimore MD, sisters Alice Ashcroft, Ina Ashcroft, Frances Price (Roy), Violet Marois, brothers Cecil James (Yvonne) and Russell James (Marilyn), brothers-in-law Mervin Flannery, Jerry Marr and Doug Marr (Gail). Also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents William and Olive James, siblings Kenneth James, Murial Chernish, Colleen Flannery, brothers- in-law William Ashcroft, Jack Ashcroft, Raymond Marois, Dennis Chernish and Don Miller. Cliff had a passion for life and a generous heart to help everyone. He was previous owner of James Auto Supply in Port Colborne and later a machinist at John Deere retiring in 2003 to pursue his love for cabinet making and custom woodworking. Cliffs loves included hunting, fishing, antiques, gardening and vintage auto restoration. Cliff also enjoyed spending summers with his son on the Chesapeake Bay. Cliff belonged to the Humberstone Lions and Fort Erie Minor Hockey Association. There will be no visitation. HALLAS, Kenneth. Kenneth Hallas passed away peacefully in his eighty-fourth year on October 31, 2008 at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal. Beloved husband of the late Hazel Hallas, Kenneth was born and raised in Montreal. After devoting his youth to protecting the future of his country as a WWII Veteran, he dedicated himself to raising a family with the same commitment and integrity. He strived for nothing but the best for his wife and children and instilled values for them to live by. This proud man and father leaves behind his four sons: Ken Jr. of Vernon, B.C., Ian (wife Donna) of Montreal, PQ, Neil (wife Michelle) of Vernon, B.C. and Craig (Fiance Tanya) of Mississauga, ON. He will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren Brandie (Derrick), Jason (Brieanne), Tyler, Jordan, Zachary, Keenan, Alex, Dylan and Ryley; great-grandchildren River, Silken, Hailey and Dylan, as well as countless nieces, nephews and friends who couldn't say enough about him as a man.
