Née à Saint-Louis-de-Kent, elle était fille de feu Hilaire et Marie (Daigle) Babineau. Bernadette manquera beaucoup à sa soeur, Thérèse (Herbert Muise) de Nouvelle-Écosse; à ses frères: Gérard de Gardner, Mass., Yvon (Lorraine Robichaud) de Moncton et Bernard de Montréal. Ses soeurs: Elodie, Alexina (Wilfred Dawson), Imelda (Laurent Brien) et Céline (Camille Arsenault), ainsi que ses frères: Alphée (Lorette Robichaud) et Rémi (Imelda Davis), l’ont précédée dans la tombe. OBITUARY RONALD ALBERT JAMES REGAN 1926-2008 On November 1, 2008 at the West Island Palliative Care Residence, beloved father and grandfather Ron Regan died peacefully after a courageous struggle: A true Englishman to the end of a wonderful rich and full life. Ron was a well-respected aeronautical engineer at Canadair for more than thirty years. He played an integral part in the design and completion of the Canadair Challenger business jet, "the most beautiful business jet in the world," relying on his extensive technical know-how and the expertise of the "boys" from home. He immigrated to Canada in 1952 with his beloved wife, Rita, and they were happily married for over fifty years. His extremely proud daughters, Susan (Dennis Anson) and Jane (Colin Young), and his loving granddaughters, Amanda, Kelly and Caitlin, will miss him terribly. Ron was a private man who could be seen like clockwork walking the streets of Pointe Claire, always dressed in his coat with his cap on his head. As he grew older, the range of his daily walks decreased from 2-hour 10-mile rambles to the neighbourhood surrounding the apartment he shared with his wife. In recent years, people at the Pointe Claire Shopping Plaza could almost set their watches by the routine he kept: shopping for groceries, buying the newspaper, going to rent a movie, having his Friday night dinners at the Topaze, or just sitting resting his feet, watching the world go by. He would often tell us of the people who would say hello because they knew one of us, or because he had worked with them or their fathers at Canadair. Ron was an avid model-maker all of his life. He spent many happy hours making meticulously-detailed models of trains, ships, and famous architectural monuments. One of his models, "The Dollhouse," sits in the front window of Royal Lepage Village at the Pointe Claire shops. He was still working on "The Duomo of Florence" while at the Palliative Care Residence. Our Dad was a real Gentleman - an extremely kind, honest, wise, and loyal man - and a devoted husband, father and grandfather. LOVED ALWAYS, FORGOTTEN NEVER A memorial service will be held at: On Tuesday, November 4, 2008 at 4 p.m. The family will receive condolences an hour before the service. BARTON, Beverley Margaret (nee Hall) October 11, 1934 - October 31, 2008 Beverley Barton, beloved wife of Bill Barton of Calgary, passed away peacefully in her sleep, at the Beverly Centre Lake Midnapore, on Friday, October 31, 2008 at the age of 74 years. Beverley was born and raised in Calgary. Although stricken with MS at a young age she did not let her illness hold her back. Beverley was co-founder of Yoga for the physically challenged along with Margo Kitchen. She was instrumental with the MS clinics in Calgary that provided support to people and families inflicted with MS. Beverley's weekly trips to Chinook Centre were always looked forward to by herself, her friends and the many Chinook Centre staff. She was a proud member of the Catholic Woman's League at St. Bernadette's Parish. Beverley easily developed many friendships along her journey of life with her radiant smile, her warm heart and kind words. She touched many people. Besides are her loving husband of fifty-four years, Beverley is survived by her sons, David (Roberta), and Bruce; and her two grandchildren, David and Chris. She is also survived by a special niece Terry (Gerry); two great-nieces, Krista and Jill, and numerous relatives, as well as her special friend Susan and many wonderful long time friends. Beverley was predeceased by her parents Edward and Elizabeth, and by her brother Wallace. ZURICH, Anthony 2008-11-03 Anthony Zurich, age 76 years, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 29. Born in Hornepayne, the family moved to Port Arthur when he was seven. Attending Prospect Avenue and Hillcrest High School, he was always at the top of his class along with his twin brother John. Rather than attending university, Tony, worked after graduation in order to help his widowed mother to whom he was very devoted. His working life began with the business known as Armstrong the Mover where he was office manager. Following that he began a career in real estate and became the first conveyancer in the city. Representing his clients fairly and honestly, Tony was well respected throughout the legal community. An expert in his field, he was most content when explaining complicated searches and property disputes with a plethora of coloured markers, highlighters and stickers. After his retirement from Kovanchak, Ferris, Ross in 1997, former clients and associates continued to seek his advice. He enjoyed discussion and debate and remained current with political matters at all levels of government. Watching city council meetings, he provided armchair encouragement to those who earned it. As a child, his parents encouraged musical instruction. He was adept at playing the mandolin and could also manage the violin. He was artistic and generous which is why none of his artwork remains with the family--he gave it away. Tony loved the outdoors and his garden. When his yard proved to be too small neighbours were the beneficiaries of stealthily planted trees--a practice that continued while visiting provincial parks where he rearranged the landscape to his satisfaction. During summers at Lake Huronian he spent countless hours on the water with his pet rock holding down the bow of his canoe. He was a catch and release fisherman because he really couldn’t fillet a fish. Predeceased by his parents Adam and Mary Zgrych; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Zgrych; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Harold and Sophie Woodbeck; sister Barbara Lobodzinska and her husband Leszyk, Warsaw, Poland. Left to mourn his passing are his wife Judy, son Mark Anthony (Sheryll Rahn) and daughter Tracey. Also survived by his brother John and his family; Susan (Marcel) Tardif; Cathy (Rick) Pelletier, Barbara (Randy) Manunula and John (Raili) Zgrych; sister-in-law Denise (Ray) Burley, brother-in-law Bruce (Heather) Woodbeck and their children Kris, Heidi and Kailee; nieces Eva and Marysia and nephew Zanusz, who reside in Poland. Tony was a private man. He faced his health problems with courage and fortitude. Respecting his wishes for simplicity, cremation has taken place and a private memorial service will be held. Arrangements entrusted to Sargent & Son Funeral Directors. Interment will take place in Riverside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to The Stephen Lewis Foundation or the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Foundation would be appreciated. We wish to thank the dedicated health workers who have touched our lives with their compassion and care. Through their efforts, we have seen evidence of God’s work every day.
