To the last, she was more concerned with others than herself. Marie-Paule was predeceased by her husband Patrick Mark Walsh after 65 years of marriage, and by her eldest daughter Bridget (Nielsen). She is survived by her daughters Kathleen and Frances, son Bradley, daughter-in-law Shelly, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, her sister Lucie and sister-in-law Muriel. MALTAIS (M. Clément) 1917-2008 Paisiblement, entouré des siens, au C.H. de Granby, le 31 octobre 2008, à l'âge de 91 ans et 8 mois, est décédé M. Clément Maltais, époux de Mme Murielle Bouchard depuis 64 ans, et fils de feu Georges Maltais et de feu Marie-Louise Lebel. Outre son épouse Murielle, ce vétéran de la 2è Grande Guerre laisse dans le deuil ses enfants bien-aimés: Gaétan (Diane Lussier) et Pauline (Richard Bilodeau); ses petits-enfants: Mélanie, Jonathan et Olivia Maltais, Jacinthe, Marie-Hélène et Marc-Olivier Bilodeau et leur conjointe et conjoint. De plus, trois arrière-petits-enfants: Frédéric, Louis-Philippe et Anthony garderont un beau souvenir de Clément.Il était le frère de: feu Adrien (feu Alma), feu Yvette (feu Alfred), feu Léoza (feu Christophe), feu Charlemagne (Antonia), feu Maria (feu Rolland), feu Bella (feu Pierre); ainsi que le demi-frère de: feu Louis-Georges, feu Guy, Réjeanne, Rose-Marie et Rachel. Il était également le beau-frère de feu Viateur (feu Margot), feu Yvan (Candide), feu Maurice (feu Rollande), feu Marc, feu Denise, Patrice (Marthe), Maria (Noël). Il laisse aussi de nombreux neveux, nièces, autres parents et ami(e)s du Lac-St-Jean et de la région métropolitaine. Les funérailles auront lieu le mercredi 5 novembre 2008. ELLERKER, Gerry Wayne - Peacefully at LHSC Victoria Campus after a courageous battle against mesothelioma, Gerry Wayne Ellerker of Warwick in his 58th year. Gerry will be dearly missed by his best friend and loving wife Ruth. Survived by loving children Kathie and her husband Adam Kristoferson and Jackie and her fiancé Shane Reid. Gerry is survived by his father Carman and predeceased by his mother Marie (Sitlington) in 1984. Also predeceased by mother and father in law Frank and Beth Smith. A teacher by training and a homemaker by choice, Margaret was in her 89th year. Her loving husband Malcolm Edward Dedrick died in March. BARTON, Beverley Margaret (nee Hall) October 11, 1934 - October 31, 2008 Beverley Barton, beloved wife of Bill Barton of Calgary, passed away peacefully in her sleep, at the Beverly Centre Lake Midnapore, on Friday, October 31, 2008 at the age of 74 years. Beverley was born and raised in Calgary. Although stricken with MS at a young age she did not let her illness hold her back. Beverley was co-founder of Yoga for the physically challenged along with Margo Kitchen. She was instrumental with the MS clinics in Calgary that provided support to people and families inflicted with MS. Beverley's weekly trips to Chinook Centre were always looked forward to by herself, her friends and the many Chinook Centre staff. She was a proud member of the Catholic Woman's League at St. Bernadette's Parish. Beverley easily developed many friendships along her journey of life with her radiant smile, her warm heart and kind words. She touched many people. Besides are her loving husband of fifty-four years, Beverley is survived by her sons, David (Roberta), and Bruce; and her two grandchildren, David and Chris. She is also survived by a special niece Terry (Gerry); two great-nieces, Krista and Jill, and numerous relatives, as well as her special friend Susan and many wonderful long time friends. Beverley was predeceased by her parents Edward and Elizabeth, and by her brother Wallace. BANCKS, Ted T.C. May 17, 1929 - October 30, 2008 Ted Bancks, beloved husband of Peggy Bancks of Calgary, passed away while living life to the fullest, on Thursday, October 30, 2008 at the age of 79 years. Ted is survived by his wife Peggy; daughter Ferrol (Wendy); son Jerry (Marilyn); and grandchildren, Cassidy and Carter. Ted's early years were spent in Alberta and the Northwest Territories. While working as a lineman Ted met the love of his life Peggy and they were married in 1950. Ted was employed by AGT until his retirement in 1980. He spent over fifty years involved in amateur sports in Calgary. Ted was a key figure in the Renfrew community, coaching a variety of sports, flooding and shovelling rinks, grooming diamonds and sharing the odd beer and stories at the Friday socials. Ted was also a pioneer and found his passion in sports through his involvement in Calgary Bantam football. He was instrumental in the development and maintenance of the league as well as serving in various executive positions for over forty years. Many of his lifelong friendships were formed through his involvement in sports. Ted was honoured as the Calgary Booster Club Sportsman of the Year in 1989. He also had a passion as an athlete himself, playing hockey and golf at every available opportunity with his family and friends. First and foremost, Ted was a man who loved and was proud of his family. His family meant the world to him and his connection with his grandchildren was special. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. STODDART, Eileen Marie (nee Langille) It is with profound sadness that the family of Eileen Marie Stoddart, of Hubbards, Nova Scotia, wishes to announce her passing into God's Glory on October 31, 2008. Sons Wayne and Brian, daughter Sandi, son-in-law Dave and sister Doreen comforted Eileen in her last moments. Eileen was born April 15, 1938 in South Brookfield, Queens County, NS, the daughter of Viola (Morash) Harding, Nanaimo, BC and the late Ira Charles Langille. Eileen gave countless volunteer hours to the community, working with the Hubbards Area Lions Club, the Children's Wish Foundation and TOPS. She was also an active member of the Chester Royal Canadian Legion. LaBUC, Bernice Mary (nee Watson) July 2, 1936 - October 31, 2008 Bernice LaBuc, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on Friday, October 31, 2008 at the age of 72 years after a courageous battle with cancer. Bernice was born in Calgary where she was educated and lived her entire life. In 1953, she married her childhood sweetheart and best friend, Don LaBuc. They later bought a house in the community of Fairview where they lived and raised their family until Don's passing in 1992. Bernice later moved to Legacy Estates in Somerset, where she lived for five years enjoying the many close friends she made there. Bernice loved to sing and was a member of the Somerset Songbirds. The choir was a great love of Bernice's and it gave her soul a voice. Bernice started and was Queen of a local Red Hat Society Chapter, "The Calgary Cowgirls with Hatitude". Bernice loved to travel and was able to do so with her two best friends and fellow "Musketeers", Isabelle and Louise. They enjoyed many adventures together including numerous cruises to Alaska and most recently, a cruise to the Mexican Riviera. Bernice had a great love for family, friends, Disneyland, The Calgary Stampede, and her favorite TV shows. Her warmth and genuine kindness touched everyone she met and she will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Bernice is survived by her two daughters and son-in-law, Patti Bittner and Tracy (Rick) Lavoie; two grandsons, Kyle (Andrea) Bittner, and Colin Bittner; as well as by the newest love of her life, her great-grandson Lucas Donald Bittner. BARKLEY, Donna Mae Donna was born in Eston, Saskatchewan in 1949. She was the second child born to Roberta and Donald Leach. She grew up on the family farm in Saskatchewan. In 1967 she had her first child, Todd, in Outlook, Saskatchewan. She knew that she could give them a better life and packed up and moved to Calgary, Alberta. She later married Stephen Barkley, and had their second child, Rebecca, in 1980. The two of them never stayed in one place too long, moving to Grand Forks, British Columbia, where they resided for four years. After the death of Stephen, Donna and Rebecca moved to Strathmore, Alberta so that Becky could finish and graduate from high school. Donna found her match made in heaven, Stan Huntley. They were so happy. Together for thirteen years, they decided to design and build their dream home, not knowing how short a time she would be here. Donna Mae passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 30, 2008 at the age of 59 years. She leaves to cherish her loving memory and to mourn her passing, her best friend Stan Huntley, her children Todd Barkley and Rebecca (Brad) Tucker, stepdaughters Kim (Pat) Proust and Laura Huntley, and her six most beautiful grandchildren Aaron, Hayven, Elizabeth, Hudsen, Holden, and Jackson. She also leaves to mourn her passing her brother Wayne (Maurine) Leach, sister Beverly (Jack) McCloud, nieces, nephews, and so many close and special friends (Graham).
