MILLIER, Ruth Mildred (nee Randall) - Peacefully passed away at the Lennox & Addington County Hospital on Sunday, October 26, 2008 at the age of 90. Ruth was formerly of Sarnia, Ontario. Wife of the late Robert W. Millier, loving mother of Penny MacLean (Malcolm), Deseronto and Grandmother of Cameron and Sara (Don Stevens). Sadly missed by brother Joseph Randall (Sarnia), dear friend Kay (Kathleen) Lott, and numerous nieces and nephews. She will be dearly missed by many other friends. OBITUARY BRYN LLOYD Forty years old, passed away at home on October 29, 2008, his family by his side, after a year-long battle with a rare type of sarcoma cancer. He leaves behind his loving mom and dad, Sharon and Eric, his devoted sister, Kim and adored girlfriend, D-unit, Donna Abbott. He will be greatly missed by his best friend, Joe and his cousin Mark as well as aunts, uncles, cousins and friends in Montreal, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Lancashire and Wales. Bryn grew up in Pierrefonds, QC where he played many sports; basketball became his passion and he continued to play up until this year. An avid Leafs, Royals, Lakers, and Cowboys fan..did any other team matter? Be honest. He followed all pro sports and had an unbelievable knack for keeping stats. Bryn loved road trips, and travelled all over the US and Canada, meeting crews on both sides of the border. In the early '90s he lived in California and then moved to Burlington where he worked as an owner operator in the courier business. He was a pinball champion, a Coupon King and a fan of all music, but most of all he loved a good deal. Bryn will be remembered as a really nice guy who lived his life happily on his own terms. We would like to thank Dr. Sant Chawla and his staff at the Sarcoma Oncology Center in Santa Monica, California, the Lazarex Foundation and Comcare in Burlington for all of their help and support. There will be no visitation. Cremation has already taken place. Friends and family are welcome to attend an honest tribute to Bryn on Sunday, November 2 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Octane Lounge, (below Joe Dog's Gasbar) 531 Brant St., Burlington, Ontario. GUTEK, Aloysia (Rusty) March 30, 1948 - October 29, 2008 Aloysia (Rusty) Gutek, beloved wife of Harold passed away peacefully in Calgary on Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at the age of 60 years. Rusty's life journey began in Macklin, SK and took her through Edmonton, Calgary, Lloydminster, Saudi Arabia, and finally a return to Calgary in 1984. It reflected a passionate appreciation of nature's beauty which was sharpened by countless mountain hikes and international travel with many treasured friends. In early 2008 Rusty's enthusiasm for travel and adventure took her back to the Middle East with her husband to visit Israel and Palestine. She was inspired by the biblical sites with their enduring messages. Rusty's drive for perfection, taste, and beauty was captured in every social feast she created for family and friends. She revelled in taking hospitality to its highest levels. Devotion to her family provided them with meticulous loving care and concern. Later, grandchildren were nourished by this same constant dedication and attention. Rusty's focus on detail and commitment to her work colleagues were the hallmark of an accomplished career as a medical lab technologist. Her community involvement included participation in her church's folk choir and a stint as an executive member of the Calgary Foothills PC Association and was highlighted by her selection as an ambassador for Alberta's centennial celebration in 2005. Besides her loving husband Harold, Rusty is survived by daughters Colleen and Patricia; their spouses Peter and Bryan; and grandchildren Avery and Emerson; as well as eight brothers, three sisters and numerous nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her parents, two brothers and one sister. The family extends a special thanks to the physicians and staff at the General and Princess Margaret Hospitals in Toronto as well as the physicians and staff at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre in Calgary for their care and encouragement during the past two years. Rusty was cared for in her northwest home overlooking the city she loved with assistance from the Calgary Health Region's Home Care Response Team and friend Rose until the day before her passing. REYNOLDS, Kenneth Roy May 19, 1954 - October 29, 2008 My beloved Schatzi, and our children's treasured Papa, was called home to be with his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on October 29, 2008. He passed away peacefully in his sleep and is survived by his wife and soulmate Corinna and his two beautiful daughters Katrina and Sabrina. He is also survived by his parents Roy and Lois Reynolds (predeceased by his mother Irene), his sister Beverly Reynolds (Dave Smith), his brother Cliff (Sherry), as well as his in-laws Erhard and Hannelore Gorski. Ken's love for his Lord was evident in many ways but especially in his love for his family whom he loved and adored deeply. He was actively engaged in the First Alliance Church choir for eighteen years and sang in "Acclamation", a vocal ensemble, for seventeen years. Delivering the message of salvation through song and performance, and glorifying God was a ministry Ken loved. Although we will miss him greatly we have the assurance that we will be reunited in eternity. FRASER Wayne Christopher, 28, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Oct. 23, 2008 after a long battle with cancer at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Thunder Bay, Ont. with his family by his side. He is survived by his mother, Evelyn (nee Maki) and brother, Robert (Stephanie) of Winnipeg, Man.; and nieces and nephews, Trent, Jade, Robert Jr., and Chloe of Winnipeg, Man. He also leaves behind good friend of the family, Brian Wilson of Fort Frances, Ont.; paternal grandfather, Alec Smitsnuk; special uncle, David (Sandy) of Calgary, Alta.; Uncle Ed, Aunty Marjorie Broome, Donna Smitsnuk, Leonard Maki, Albert Maki, Bradley Maki, Ronald Maki, Karen Morrin, and Sharon Maki; as well as numerous cousins. He was predeceased by his father, James on Sept. 27, 2005; and brother, Michael on July 30, 2002. Wayne was born Aug. 29, 1980 in Sudbury, Ont. During his short life, he graduated with honours from Fort Frances High School in June, 1999. He worked at the Fort Frances Day Care, Fort Frances Times, Good Impressions, a co-op student at Safeway, the Barwick mill, and most recently Wal-Mart. When not working, he volunteered for many organizations, always giving freely of this time. Wayne enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, going for walks, wrestling, listening to music, but most of all spending time with his nieces and nephews. Anyone who knew Wayne would recognize his smile and his big heart because he was always willing to go that extra mile for anyone. And last but not least, his great sense of humour, which kept him going even through the hardest days. He will be sadly missed by family and many friends. Wayne’s wishes were to be cremated. A memorial service will be held Monday, Nov. 3, 2008 at 2 p.m. at the United Pentecostal Church in Fort Frances, Ont., with Pastor Sean Ward officiating. He and his loving wife of sixty-eight years, Margaret, spent most of their retirement years in Cochrane where they attended St. Andrew's United Church. Mr. Edmond Joseph Hebert, husband of Joan (Lee) Hebert of South Nelson, Miramichi, passed away Sunday evening at Miramichi Regional Hospital, at the age of 63. Born in Allainville, he was the son of Mrs. Margaret (Gauvereau) Hebert and the late Lionel Hebert. He was a self employed mechanic. He was a member of St Patrick's Roman Catholic Church. Besides his wife Joan, he is survived by one daughter; Rhonda Hebert (William) of Carroll's Crossing; two sons; Danny Hebert of Miramichi; Joel Hebert (Marie) of Miramichi; eight sisters; Irene Savard; Mariette Girouard (Roger); Patsy Bushey (George); Rolande Duguay; Jacqueline Doucette (Ernest); Pauline Gallant (Leonard); Elizabeth Jardine (Mark); Carmella Jardine (Peter); four brothers; John (Anne); Morris (Mary Anne); Rheal (Pearl); Julien (Barb); five grandchildren; Jordan, Talon, Jenna, Drake and Devon. Mrs. Jean Tomen March 23, 1919 - August 6, 2008 - Passed away peacefully at home with family by her side at the age of 89, after a courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, August 6, 2008. Robert "Bob" Reginald ARCHER December 5, 1933 - August 12, 2008 - ROBERT "BOB" REGINALD ARCHER Robert (Bob) Reginald Archer, 74, passed away Tuesday, August 12, 2008, at the Ridgewood Veterans Unit, Saint John. Born in Saint John he was the son of the late Harry and Dorothy (Bell) Archer. Bob was a Korean War Veteran and was trained in Unarmed Combat. He later worked at Irving Pulp and Paper Ltd until he retired in 1992. When he was younger, Bob was an avid hunter. He loved to tell jokes and he enjoyed Yard Sales and collecting coins. He also enjoyed dancing and BBQ's. As a life long resident of Grand Bay-Westfield, he helped others in need by offering his home and meals to anyone was down on their luck. He loved Julian Austin (Canadian Country Artist) and is named in the veterans song "The Red & White". He later began to promote the "Support the Troops" campaign. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Barbara (Dunn) Archer, daughter Roseanne (Roger) Lewis of Saint John, NB, son Robbie (Linda) Archer of Quispamsis, NB, daughters Crystal (Roger) Bordage and Tammy Archer both of Grand Bay-Westfield, NB. Bob had 4 Grandchildren, Eric and Katrina of Grand Bay-Westfield and Jackie and Gregory of Grand Manan, NB. Also survived by 2 brothers, Donald, and Douglas (Dora) Archer, both of Saint John; and 1 sister Betty Arsenault, Moncton. Besides his parents, bob was Predeceased by brothers Kenny and Gordon Archer. The family would like to thank the Staff and nurses at Ridgewood and especially the "Blue & Green" girls. She is survived by six daughters; Leola Mahoney (Donald) of Renous; Margaret Hallihan (Gerald) of Renous; Wilma Sturgeon (Percy) of Renous; Gail Robichaud (Edward) of Renous; Carmel Hallihan (Thomas) of Pineville; Donna Sturgeon (Kevin) of Renous; one son; William Manderville of Lockstead; one sister; Cecile Robichaud of Lagaceville; 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Besides her parents and her husband (1983), she was predeceased by one grandson Michael Hillihan (1986); one great grandson Jearon Clement (2007); three sisters; Aurillia Bouchard; Bernetta Hogan and Rita Le Claire; seven brothers; Emery, Alphonse, Pidelle, Francis, Leonard, Edmond and Lionel. Mrs. Stella Marie Manderville, rested at Father Murdock Memorial Room, Renous, with visitation on Saturday from 2-4 & 7-9 and Sunday 1-3 & 7-9. Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Monday, October 27, 2008 at 11 a.m. from St Bridget's Roman Catholic Church, Renous, with Monsignor Joseph Woods officiating. Guitarist and Soloist James Lawlor rendered "Be Not Afraid", "Isiah 49", "Gentle Woman", "On Eagles Wings" and "Immolate Mary". Readings were by Scott Mahoney and Melanie Rutland. Burial followed in the family plot of the church cemetery. At the request of the family donations to a memorial of ones choice would be appreciated.
