Ada Frenette The death of Ada Frenette of Jacquet River occurred at the Campbellton Regional Hospital Saturday, September 27,2008 at the age of 76. Born in Jacquet River,she was the daughter of the late Irvin Hickey & the late Anne Shannon. Ada was first & foremost a mother & grandmother, but she worked outside the home from the time she was a teenager practically to the time of her death. From bookkeeping to storekeeper to village clerk, Ada worked passionately with her community no matter the job. There was nothing more important to Ada than her friends & family. She will be remembered most for sharing stories from her kitchen table,(and a meal), sewing,knitting or quilting for her loved ones.Ada lived life to the fullest and treasured every moment of her life. She would want to be remembered for her laughter & her love, and her gratitude for her many blessings. She is survived by her sons; Michael (Kim) of Fredericton, Robert(Joey) of London,daughters; Audrey Frenette Donnelly (Lloyd) of Jacquet River, Shanna Harquail (Lloyd) of Florenceville, grandchildren; Cullan Harquail, Kate Harquail, Shannon Donnelly, sisters; Iva Jenkins, Kathleen Delahunt, Frances Smith, Monica Bourque & brothers Owen & Evan. Mr. Lawrence Frederick "Larry" Goodin November 3, 1959 - July 18, 2008 GOODIN, Lawrence Frederick "Larry" - 48, Dartmouth, passed away in Dartmouth General Hospital on July 18, 2008, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Halifax, he was a son of Leta (Perry) and the late Lawrence W. Goodin. Larry had a great passion for football and NASCAR, was a faithful Rush fan and had a great love of working on cars. For over 20 years, he worked as a painter and fabricator in the sign industry. Larry always enjoyed being with family and friends. Surviving are brother, Kevin (Cathy); sisters, Susan (Michael) Parker, Cathy (Hardy) Schlegel; nephews, Jason and Chad Schlegel, Ryan and Adam Parker; daughter, Julie Grant, New Brunswick. Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be held in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth, on Tuesday, July 22, at 2 p.m., Rev. Marilyn Newport officiating. HAMILL, Emelia Florence November 4, 1906 - October 6, 2008 It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our dear mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Emelia, who passed away peacefully on Monday, October 6, 2008, just less than one month prior to her 102nd birthday. Emelia was predeceased by her husband Jack in 1988 and her son Terrence in 1981. She leaves to mourn, her daughter Eileen and husband John Fiell, her grandsons Peter (Charlotte) Fiell, Bruce (Sandra) Fiell and Jeffery Fiell, and great-grandchildren Emelia, Clementine, Trevor, Erin and Robyn. Emelia Forgues was born on November 4, 1906 near Pine Lake, Alberta, to a pioneer family, the second of five children. She acquired her teaching certificate in Camrose and it was during one of her teaching contracts in the vicinity of Pine Lake that she met her future husband Jack Hamill. Emelia and Jack were married on May 22, 1926, and raised their two children, Terry and Eileen in Calgary. In 1967 they bought a seasonal home in Invermere, which became their permanent home in 1982. Emelia was widowed in 1988 and stayed in her home until 2000. On November 4, 2006, Emelia celebrated her one-hundredth birthday amongst her many friends and family at Columbia Garden Village, Invermere. Emelia and Jack were members of the United Church of Canada almost from its inception in 1925 and she was a proud Life Member of United Church Women. A Funeral service will be held in Invermere at Christ Church Trinity, Wednesday, October 22 at 2:00 p.m. Friends are invited to join the family for a reception following the Service. DOPSON, Kenneth (Ken) Richard May 31, 1923 - October 13, 2008 It is with great love and deep sadness that we announce the passing of Ken Dopson on Monday, October 13, 2008 at the age of 85. Ken passed away in his sleep after a brief illness. He is survived by his loving wife and companion of sixty-two years, Georgina Dopson (nee Craig) of Calgary. He is also survived by his sister, Laura Watt of Barrie, ON and many loving family and friends in Calgary, Vancouver and Ontario. A private family celebration will be held. PINGREE, Margaret Crossman 2008-10-15 Margaret Crossman Pingree, 91, of Topsham, ME., formerly of Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada, and Alna, ME, died October 9, 2008. She was born in Melrose, MA and graduated from Smith College in 1939. While living in Canada she volunteered in hospitals and schools, was a Girl Guide leader for several years, and was a member of the University Women‘s Group. She was the first woman in Canada to complete all of the Canadian Power Squadron courses. She is pre-deceased by her husband, Arthur Veasey Pingree, and is survived by her children, Lucile Pingree Gatchell of Massachusetts, Patricia Megan Pingree of Oregon, and Jane Veasey Maradyn of Alberta, Canada. She also leaves four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, plus Moxie. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Children International, P.O. Box 219055, Kansas City, MO 64121-9055.

PARKER, Marjorie Ester February 7, 1920 - October 9, 2008 Our Aunty Marj passed away peacefully at Rockyview Hospital on October 9, 2008 with Sandra and Ruth by her side. Born February 7, 1920 to Martin and Dena Van der Velde, she was raised on the family farm at Dalemead until 1941 when she attended Normal. Throughout her career she taught school in Brushy Ridge, Shepherd, Strathmore and Millarville. She moved into the Trinity Lodge in June 2008. Although she never had any children of her own, she was always surrounded by family and was "Aunty Marj" to a huge number of nieces, nephews and special friends whose lives were enriched by her. She loved her garden and her pets, was an avid supporter of the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, attending the Pops Series for many years. She loved to golf and was always busy playing bridge. Saturday was movie and supper night, and Sunday was family day, usually spent with Sandra or Ruth. She leaves behind her brother-in-law Albert Bishop and three generations of nieces, nephews and friends. Marjorie was predeceased by her parents, her sisters Ruth Van der Velde, Jo Chilton, Julia Chalmers, Helen Bishop, brother Gerald Van der Velde, and special "nephew" Dave MacDonald. We wish to thank all the staff at the Trinity Lodge for truly caring for her and about her. Also, Dr. Khasla, Dr. Hong, the teams in the Rockyview Hospital, and especially Ener, who shared Aunty Marj's last hours with us. Ms. Ellen Iona Clarke (Moore) July 7, 1943 - July 18, 2008 CLARKE (Moore), Ellen Iona - The family of Ellen Iona (Moore) Clarke announce with deep sadness her sudden passing July 18, 2008, at home in Lower Sackville. Ellen was born July 7, 1943, in East Leicester, Cumberland Co. She was a graduate of Oxford Regional High School and the Halifax Infirmary as an Advanced Registered Technologist. She continued her career at St. Joseph's Hospital in Toronto, returning to Halifax to teach Medical Lab Technology at the Nova Scotia Community College from 1972-1987. She continued at the community college in the role of Medical Coordinator Health Sciences 1987-1994, then as Vice Principal until her retirement in 1998. During those years, her interest in education and specialized training continued with involvement with various committees such as Advisory Board member for the V.G. Allied Health Programs, and member of the Advisory Committee for the External Evaluations of Accreditation Process for Allied Health Programs. Ellen served as the secretary of the Scientific Advisory Board N.S.I.T., developed the first safety manual for lab techs in 1982, and participated in many other professional committees and boards. Her hobbies and interests included current president of the Sackville Threaders Quilt Guild, past president of Beta Sigma Phi, part-time employment at the Cotton Patch, gardening and reading. Her greatest passion was time spent with family, especially her son, Jeff, and daughter-in-law, Marlene. Ellen had a genuine interest in people, and loved to help where ever she could. She was predeceased by grandson, Jacob. She is survived by her son, Jeff Clarke, and daughter-in-law, Marlene (Moses), Lower Sackville; parents, Sheldon and Isabel (Ripley) Moore, East Leicester; brothers, Bruce (Madeline), Oxford; Marvin (Ruth), Stayner, Ont.; Howard, Prince Albert, Ont.; Lee (Elsie), Mansfield; Wayne (Audrey), Innisfil, Ont.; Neil (Donna), Little River; Keith, Stewiacke; Thorton (Kim), Mansfield; Andy (Lisa), Little River.
