ARSENAULT, Herve 2008-10-01 Mr. Herve Arsenault, age 85 years, passed away in the T.B.R.H.S.C. on Monday, September 29, 2008. Herve worked as an Iron Worker in the construction industry and was a member of Knights of Columbus Leo Council #1130. He loved nature and was happiest taking walks with Elaine and feeding the animals. He is survived by his wife Elaine, children: Paulette (Bob) Helesic, Jackie (Garth) Wolfe, Denise (Gary) Laine, Roger (Angela) Arsenault and Lorraine (Gary) Wikander as well as by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and other relatives. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2008 when family and friends will gather in St. Andrew’s R.C. Church for the Funeral Mass beginning at 10:00 a.m. celebrated by Rev. Luigi Filippini. Inurnment will follow in St. Andrew’s Cemetery. Arrangements in care of the Sargent & Son Funeral Directors, 21 N. Court Street. As expressions of sympathy memorials to the Ontario Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.

CAMPBELL, James Hollie 2008-10-01 James Hollie Campbell passed away, at the age of 68, on Sunday, September 28, 2008 in Hamilton General Hospital after a brief illness. Jim left behind a loving family, wife Loraine, sons Scott and Shannon (Jenn Kutzler), daughters Heather, Holly (Dan Mado) and Colleen (Wayne Chrystian). He was a fun loving and caring grandfather to Richard, Derrick, Samantha, Amber, Caitlin, Veronica, Tyler, Connor, Dawson, Hailey, Morgan and Madison. Predeceased by grandson Richard Stobie and brother Bill Campbell. Jim was a life-long resident of Thunder Bay, born in Port Arthur April 13, 1940. He moved to Blake Township with his family in 1972. He started his working career at the age of 16 in the trucking industry and tried the pipeline and high rigging, but returned to trucking. Jim worked for Avenor as a Driver Trainer, Trucking Superintendent and Safety Supervisor for 18 years, and upon retiring from there, picked up trucking again. Jim was actively involved with the trucking industry in Northwestern Ontario. He finally retired last year to putter at home and help out family members. Services will be held at Jenkens Funeral Home on Saturday, October 4, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.

CECI, Adelina 2008-10-01 Mrs. Adelina Ceci (nee Tripargoletti) age 84 years passed away peacefully, with her family at her side after a lengthy illness on Monday, September 29, 2008. Adelina was born on January 6, 1924 in Paterno Calabro, Cosenza, Italy. Adelina worked hard to support her two children and on May 26, 1967 she immigrated to Port Arthur to seek a better life for her two sons Filippo and Franco. Adelina immediately went to work at Vi’s Tavern until she found what would be her home away from home at the Shoreline Motor Hotel. Although the work was laborious, Adelina loved her job and her co-workers, and after 20 years of loyal service, Adelina decided to embrace retirement. Adelina was a devout mother and grandmother. She was most happy when surrounded by her family and friends. Adelina’s devotion to her faith also played a very important role in her life. She would attend church daily until her illness did not allow it. Her faith however, kept her strong throughout her life and in her illness. Adelina is survived by her son Filippo and daughter-in-law Joanne, son Franco and daughter-in-law Giuliana, grandchildren Belinda Nelson (Gary), Andrea Etherington (Barry), Laura Lombardo (Carlo), Lisa Mirabelli (Frank), Michael and Mark Ceci and seven great grandchildren. Also surviving are Adelina’s two sisters Angelina Tripargoletti and Antonietta Salvador in Italy. She is also survived by numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, as well as numerous nieces and nephews in Canada and in Italy. She was predeceased by her parents Michele and Maria, brothers Ernesto and Pasquale Tripargoletti, sister-in-law Maria Tripargoletti and sister Teresina Magno. Funeral services for the late Mrs. Adelina Ceci will be held on Friday, October 3 , 2008 leaving the EVEREST FUNERAL CHAPEL, 299 Waverley St. at Algoma at 8:50 AM to St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church for the Funeral Mass at 9:30 AM. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation for friends will be on Thursday evening after 5:00 PM in the EVEREST CHAPEL, with the Vigil Prayers offered at 7:00 PM. LAVALLEE, Royal - March 17, 1934 - September 26, 2008 - Sgt. Royal Patrick Lavallee retired from the Armed Forces. Born March 17, 1934 in Chichester, Quebec passed away peacefully after a battle with cancer on September 26, 2008. CHAPPLE, Patricia Ann "Pat" -It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Patricia Ann “Pat“ Chapple peacefully at St. Joseph’s General Hospital on September 23, 2008 at the age of 66 years following a lengthy and courageous battle with lung disease. pat was the fourth of five daughters born to Steve and Kristine Donaldchuk. She was predeceased by her father in 1975, her mother in 2005, sisters Lorraine and Shirley and brotherin- law Bill Rudiak. She is survived by her son Bob or Toronto, Bruce and wife Ally of Windsor, granddaughters Chelsea and Katelyn, sister Audrey and brother-in-law Fred Brown of Gravenhurst, sister Debbie of Dryden and many nieces and nephews. Pat was born in Geraldton, Ontario on December 4, 1941 where she attended both public and high school before moving to Toronto to attend Shaw’s Business College. While in Toronto Pat worked for many years for the Worker’s Compensation Board and she married and had two sons. In 1974 Pat moved to Elliot Lake where she made many wonderful friends. She taught for one year at Elliot Lake Secondary School and then worked for many years for the North Shore Board of Education. In 2001 Pat retired from her position as an administrative assistant at Elliot Lake high school. Pat impressed everyone she knew with her artistic abilities, her amazing gardening skills, and her dedication to her family and friends. She was blessed with many life-long special friends and her family is incredibly grateful for her devoted friends Arlene, Ione and Donna. She will be forever missed by her entire family and her very dear friends. 0

BRACKEN, Robert Victor - Passed away suddenly at his residence in Niagara Falls on September 29, 2008 at the age of 58 years. Beloved son of William and the late Irene Bracken of Niagara Falls, brother of Loretta (Mel) Pederson of Niagara Falls, uncle of Eric (Kristi) Pederson, Niagara-on- the-Lake and Melanie (Kevin) Lumley of Niagara Falls. Great-uncle to Kallie, Colin, Ethan and Tyler and cousin to Michael Bracken, Elmira. He is also survived by relatives in England including cousin Thomas Barton. Robert attended Stamford High School and Brock University. He worked for Ken James Studio. For many years, Robert enjoyed his hobby of model airplanes. After extensive research, Robert wrote two books about Canadian Spitfire Pilots. He had hoped to finish a third book. Our family wishes to thank the many friends who were so helpful to Robert especially Clifford and Dorathee, and also the friendly and caring neighbours at Kiwanis Cr. BURGESS, Mary (Molly) Helen (nee Muisiner) - On September 30th, 2008 Molly peacefully passed away at the Barton Retirement Home in Newmarket, at the age of 86. Molly was born in Niagara Falls, on September 26th, 1922, and she was predeceased by her husband Robert (Bob) (2006), and her grandson Christopher Justice, (2006). Beloved mother of Kenneth (Pam), Newmarket, Susan Justice (Charles), Fellsmere, Florida and Patrick (Joanne) of Burlington. Molly will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Shannon McCabe (Brian), Meagan Burgess-Whiting (Stephen), Jennifer Alderton (Mike), Shawn Burgess, Lindsey Burgess, Katie Burgess and Patrick Burgess and by her great- grandchildren Matthew Burgess, Tristan Alderton, Bryce Burgess-Whiting and Joshua Alderton. Born in Calgary, Drew was our little ray of sunshine. He warmed the hearts of all who knew him, and always had a smile for everyone. He brought so much joy and laughter to our home and watching him with his big brother Peyton, will provide memories forever cherished. His favourite person was undoubtedly Peyton and their bond will be irreplaceable. Peyton will miss his favourite little sidekick. GANDHI, Baldev (1938 - 2008) It is with great sorrow, we announce that Mr. Baldev Gandhi, son of the late Lakshmi Narayan and the late Bhagvati Devi, suddenly passed away on Monday, September 29, 2008. He was a deeply spiritual man, and an accomplished marine engineer with Transport Canada for 35 years from where he had recently retired. He was a beloved husband, a devoted father and an indulging grandfather. He will be deeply missed by his wife Sunita Gandhi, who was his best friend and a lifelong companion; and by his sons - Ajay and Sanjay, and daughter-in-law Charu, and his granddaughters Anisha and Divya, and numerous friends, relatives in Canada, India and abroad. Baldev Gandhi was a man of strength, courage and determination, who brought life and energy to everyone he touched. His sense of humor, kindness, compassion, thoughtfulness, devotion and dedication will be missed by everyone who knew him. He lived his life to the fullest, and will be remembered by all who were fortunate to know him. Friends may pay their respects at the Pinecrest Visitation Centre, 2500 Baseline Road on Thursday from 6 to 9 pm. Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Friday at 11 am. HEILMAN, Harold "Harry" Andrew October 29, 1935 - September 28, 2008 Harry Heilman, beloved husband of Ella, of Calgary, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2008 at the age of 72 years, surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with emphysema. Harry was predeceased by his son Dale, mother Frances, father Andrew and brother Lloyd. JAZEY, Ishy (Faye) Peacefully at her daughter's home on September 29, 2008, Ishy (Faye) Jazey of London in her 92nd year. Beloved wife of the late Joseph Jazey (1994). Loving mother of Mariam Davies of London, Donald Jazey (Del) of Ottawa, Alex Jazey (Jill) of London and Gary Jazey (Deborah) of London. She was loved and will be sadly missed by 12 grandchildren and their spouses, 14 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and her loving friend Howard Scarlett. Predeceased by her daughter-in-law Marsha Jazey. Faye, the last of 11 children of Mohammed and Eva Hassen, was a longtime member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Chapter #845. Having joined in 1962, she rose to the position of College of Regents. Faye will be missed by many friends.
