BOBROFF, Kerstin Lucia (nee Svensson) Kerstin Lucia Bobroff (nee Svensson), beloved wife of Wayne Bobroff of Calgary, passed away suddenly at home on August 29, 2008 at the age of 72. Besides her loving husband, she is survived by her children Gershon (Katherine) and Anna both of Calgary and her grandchildren Rachel and Sarah Kahane and their father Jeff. She is also survived by her sister Gunilla (Gosta) of Nykoping, Sweden; her sister Kristina (Jim) of Naples, Florida; her brother Olle (Elsbritt) of North Vancouver, BC; her brother-in-law Leonard (Sandra) of Courtenay, BC; her brother-in-law Arnold of Powell River, BC; and many nieces, nephews and cousins in Canada, Sweden, and the United States. She is predeceased by her parents Olle and Iris Svensson of Nykoping, Sweden and her father and mother-in-law, Max and Ida Bobroff of Richmond, BC. Kerstin came to Canada in 1964 and met Wayne the following year. They married in 1968 in Vancouver, BC and recently celebrated their fortieth wedding anniversary. Kerstin was an avid gardener and well known for her delicious baking which was frequently requested by family friends for celebrations. Over the years Kerstin volunteered for many organizations including the Beth Tzedec Synagogue, Calgary Jewish Academy, Hadassah Wizo, Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation and contributed her considerable knitting and sewing skills to various charities, recently knitting comfort dolls that accompany medical supplies for children in third world counties. Kerstin will be remembered as loving wife and mother who enjoyed having her children close by and was endlessly devoted to her two granddaughters. She will be greatly missed by many friends for her generous spirit and sense of humour. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, September 3, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at the CHEVRA KADISHA of CALGARY, North East corner off Highway 22x and 37 Street S.W. (Telephone 403-244-4717). OBITUARY TED ENGEL (TEOFIL) On Saturday August 30, after a valiant struggle with cancer, Ted passed away peacefully in Ste. Agathe Hospital two months short of his eightieth birthday. He leaves to mourn his beloved wife of 56 years Frances Zizunas - his three sons Bobby (Katie), Danny (Donna), Ronnie (Donna) - his seven grandchildren Mark, Keith, Tina, Alex, Leah, Jake and Jenna. LEGER, Gerry J. 1945-2008 BA, MA, U.N.B Phd University of Alberta Sunday, August 31, 2008, I lost my love and soul mate. He died peacefully at home surrounded by family after a short illness. Gerry leaves behind his "Love" Carolyn Colpitts-Leger; son, John (Anji Bhattacharyya); daughter, Christine (Paul Weston) and adoring grandchildren Adam, Nathan, Sage and baby Grace. Gerry was predeceased by his mother Marie; father Gerard; sister Julie LeBlanc; brother Val; father-in-law John Lane Colpitts and brother-in-law Jack Colpitts. Also greatly missed by sisters Aline Siritsky (Michel), Annette Fairweather; brother Ron (Karen); sisters Angela Wilson (Doug), Louise Boulter (Robert); brother-in-law Ferdie LeBlanc; sisters-in-law Ruth Leger, Sherran Bowbrick (David), Bonnie Stevens (Blair) and mother-in-law Madge Colpitts. Reynolds), d'Agnès (Georges Ducharme), de Louise Routhier, d'Annette Routhier, et de Jean (époux en 1res noces de Jeanne Proulx et en 2ièmes de feu Marie-Rose Cloutier), tous décédés. TAYLOR, Albert Leslie - November 20, 1926 - August 28, 2008 Les Taylor, a resident of Gore Bay, died at the North Bay General Hospital on Thursday, August 28, 2008 at the age of 81 years. He was born in Toronto, son of the late John and Marianne Taylor and was raised at Long Bay. He had worked in the mining industry for 34 years. He was a member of the Orange Lodge, and enjoyed playing cards, especially euchre and cribbage. Les will be sadly missed by family and his many friends, but fond memories will be cherished by all who knew him. Devoted father of Belinda Voisin (Mark) and Jodie Vaillancourt (Jason). Cherished grandfather of Nicholous, Sabrina, Samantha and Alyson. Roy was the longtime, brotherly friend of Joe Soulier. Sadly missed by his siblings, Marian (George), Peter, Sandra (Wayne), Debbie, Guy, Leanne (Uwe), Heather (Bill) and Tracy (Ferrin), sister-in-law Marilyn (Keith) Laframboise and nephew Todd.
