ANDRIC, Martin. Passed away peacefully at his home in Victoria, B.C., on July 11, 2008 at the age of eighty-five, surrounded by his loving family. KIDD, “Jake“ Arthur John - (WWII Veteran) - Passed away peacefully at Extendicare Lakefield on Thursday July 17, 2008. Jake Kidd of Lakefield in his 86th year. Jake worked for the C.N. Railroad as a locomotive engineer for 37 years, retiring in 1986. He loved to spend time playing pool, fishing and hunting. Survived by daughter Bonny “Beverley“ Chris and her husband George. Also survived by grandsons Duane (Carol), Stephen (Melanie), great grandson Joshua, sisters- in-law Irene Johnston and Maye Nicholls, cousin Harold Kidd, nephews Brian & Douglas and nieces Judy & Wendy. HANSEN, Janet L. October 24, 1962-June 22, 2008 It is with great sadness the family announces the peaceful passing of Janet Hansen on Sunday, June 22, 2008, after a valiant battle with cancer, at the age of 45. Janet was born in New Glasgow, N.S., but spent most of her early years in Howe Bay, P.E.I., with family and friends. It was always her wish to retire to the Island once her husband, David, retired from the military. Janet will forever be remembered by her husband, David, daughter Amee, step-daughters Winola (Nola), Sybil, stepson Trevor and stepdad Charles, as well as all those that she had touched during her brief, but fulfilling, life. Graveside service will be held at the People’s Cemetery on July 26, 2008, at 1 p.m. A reception will be held following the service.

SULLIVAN, HELEN A. - The death of Helen Sullivan, occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Thursday, July 18, 2008. She was born in Saint John on January 21, 1917 to the late Cornelius and Isabella (Whelpley) Sullivan. Helen worked first at the MRA's Department Store before retiring as the Supervisor of Housekeeping at Centra Care in 1982. Helen is survived by her good friend, Madeline O'Leary and her son, Michael O'Leary (Brenda) both of Saint John West and her cousin, Patricia Trecartin of Saint John. Besides her parents Helen was predeceased by her brother, Cornelius Sullivan. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Resting at Brenan's Bay View Select Community Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John (634-7425), with visitation Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The mass of Christian burial will be held from Our Lady of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church on Monday, July 21, 2008 at 12 noon. Interment in St. Joseph's Cemetery. CHARLES JAMIESON WATT Friday, July 18, 2008 Charles Jamieson Watt, of the Municipality of Alberton, Ont., passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at La Verendrye Hospital in Fort Frances, Ont. He was born June 18, 1928 in London, Ont. Charlie attended the University of Western Ontario and Osgoode Hall Law School, and was called to the Bar in 1954. He began his 46-year legal career in Atikokan, Ont. and moved to Fort Frances in 1962, where he worked and served the community. Aside from his busy law practice, Charlie held various other positions, including area director for Legal Aid Ontario from 1967 until his retirement in 2000. He also served as a Deputy Small Claims Court Judge in the District of Rainy River until the present. Charlie was an accomplished musician, and worked his way through university playing in bands in and around southern Ontario. His love of music continued throughout his life and he will be remembered by many as a saxophone player in the local swing band, “Mood Indigo.” He also played in the orchestra for several high school musicals and most recently with the Borderland Community Orchestra. Charlie will be sadly missed by his wife of 53 years, Irene; and his son, Jeffrey and wife, Valerie, and their daughter, Bailey, of Roland, Man. At his request, a private family service will be held at a later date. AMEND, PETER HERBERT - Born May 14, 1965, Peter passed on unexpectedly at his home in Laval, QC on July 9, 2008 at the age of 43. His memory will forever be cherished by his wife Tammy (LeBlanc), originally of Saint John, his children Jonathan, Viviane, Kristina, Jeremiah, and Jeffrey Guitard (step-son); he also leaves behind his mother, three brothers & five sisters and their spouses and children, in-laws Sandra Thibodeau (Joe Hickey), Jerry LeBlanc (Yvette) of Moncton, and Bruce LeBlanc (Debbie). Jean-Nicol Roy (1935-2008) Au Centre Hospitalier l'Assomption, le samedi 19 juillet 2008, à l'âge de 73 ans, est décédé monsieur Jean-Nicol Roy, époux de feu Suzanne Gilbert et fils de feu Charles-Eugène Roy et de feu Lucienne Loubier. Il demeurait à Saint-Georges. Il était le père de Jean-Pierre (Diane Belley), et Anne (Mario Poulin); le grand-père de Caroline Roy, Cynthia et Maxime Poulin; le beau-frère de Marcel Gilbert (Hénédine Bourque), feu Yvon Gilbert (feu Jeanne D'Arc Morin), feu Colette Gilbert (feu Benoît Rodrigue), Jacques Gilbert (Fleurette Poulin). Il laisse également dans le deuil plusieurs neveux, nièces, cousins, cousines et ami(e)s. Les funérailles eurent lieu le mercredi 23 juillet 2008 à 11h en l'église L'Assomption et de là au cimetière St-Georges sous la direction de La maison Roy & Giguère Inc. 13445, 10e Avenue Est, Saint-Georges. LONG, Arthur Peacefully, at the Civic Hospital on July 16, 2008 at age 93. Beloved husband of Marion for 61 years. Dear father of Karen (Terry Gobey), Sandra (Ken Abercrombie) and Alan. Sadly missed by 4 grandchildren, 1 great grandson and many other relatives and friends. Private Service was held at Pinecrest Chapel on July 18, 2008.
