McMANUS, Joseph 2008-07-14 MCMANUS Mr. Joseph Richard McManus (Mack) 66 years old of Black Sturgeon, Ontario passed away peacefully with family by his side on Saturday, July 12, 2008 at St. Joseph‘s Hospice. Joe began his colourful life in Yarmouth Nova Scotia in 1941, moving to Nipigon in 1956. Joe was a jack of all trades, working as a truck driver, guide, driller, pipefitter, farmer, and renovation Entrepreneur, among other ambitions! Joe retired from Jerry‘s Jobsite Trailers. Joe loved the great outdoors camping, fishing, hunting, prospecting and exploring every chance he could. He loved the freedom that the bush provided. Joe was predeceased by his mother Mary Lydia (Duroshier), McRae stepfather Arthur Duroshier, stepfather George McRae, sister Marily in infancy, brother-in-law Rudy Kalupar, uncle John Trafiak, special great aunt and uncle Dolly and Fred Muse. Joe is survived by 2 sons Paul (Lauri) McArthur, Grand Forks, B.C., Mike McArthur, Thunder Bay, 1 daughter Susie McManus, Lumby, B.C. Sisters Joan Kalupar, Winnipeg, Marie (John) Zamojski, Thunder Bay. Grandchildren Jake, Jonathon, Anthony McArthur. Aunt Millie Trafiak, Winnipeg and Lenora Bent, Peggy‘s Cove, N.S. Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive. Cremation has taken place, a memorial service will be held at a later date pending arrangements.

MULLIN, HAROLD FLEMMING - Passed away on Saturday, July 12, 2008 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. He was the son of the late John and Rosella (Morrison) Mullin. Harold served overseas in the North Shore Region, Hospital Core in World War II, and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #69. He is survived by his two daughters, Lillian (John) Peacock and Diane Neal; brother, Morrison Mullin; six grandchildren, Gregory, Steven, and Sean Neal and Chris, Nick, and Greg Peacock; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Suzanne "Suzie" Mullin; brother, Myles Mullin; sister, Gertie Watts; and sister-in-law, Peggy Mullin. SKEAD, JUNE - The death of June (Sansom) Skead of Whites Cove, NB, wife of late Andrew William Skead, occurred on Friday, July 11th, 2008 at her residence. Born in Moncton, NB, daughter of the late Theodore and Gladys (Forbes) Sansom. She was a longtime member of St. Paul's United Church in Fredericton. June is survived by her three sons, Gordon (Katherine) of Fredericton, NB, Jon (Lora) of Saint John, NB, and Duncan (Colleen) of Campbell River, BC, and daughter-in-law, Jeann Skead of Fredericton, NB; eight grandchildren, Rob, Chris, Kate, Andy, David, Jessica, Scott and Jonathan; one brother, Robert Sansom (Moira) of London, ON and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Andrew; one son, Bill; one brother, Reginald Sansom and her sister-in-law, Allison Sansom. Sr Rita Landry, fma - Le 13 juillet 2008, est décédée au Pavillon Edmée-Martin de Campbellton, Sr Rita Landry, à l’âge de 82 ans et 9 mois et dans sa 62e année de profession religieuse. Elle était fille de feu Édouard Landry et de feu Hélène Normandeau, tous deux de Carleton, QC, mais domiciliés à Balmoral. Outre sa famille religieuse, elle laisse dans le deuil une soeur, Jeannette (conjoint, Germain Lepage) de Sarnia, Ont.; trois belles-soeurs: Joséphine Leclair, Rose-Marie Thériault-Landry et Valéda Boucher-Landry, ainsi que plusieurs neveux et nièces dont elle est demeurée très proche. L’ont précédée dans la tombe dix frères: Lucien, Édouard, Adelard, Wilfred, Adrien, Hervé, Armand, Amédée, Marcel et Raymond, ainsi qu’une soeur, Lucienne. Sr Rita, femme brillante et des plus serviables, a oeuvré 13 ans dans l’enseignement, sept ans comme missionnaire aux Philippines, dix ans en tant que supérieure générale de la Congrégation et dix autres années en tant qu’assistante et secrétaire générale. À tout cela, s’ajoutent quelques années en pastorale paroissiale et diocésaine. Sr Rita a été une personne fondamentalement "heureuse" dans tous les services qu’elle a assumés et elle a partagé avec tous et chacun sa joie de vivre. DIAMOND, Doreen Evelyn (nee Brooks) - Peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Sunday, July 13, 2008 in her 82nd year. Beloved wife of the late George Booth Diamond. Loving mom of George, Heather and her husband Kevin Cross and Kenneth and his wife Irene. She will be lovingly remembered by her grandsons Christopher, Jason and Stephen. She is predeceased by her parents Frank and Lillian Brooks and by her brothers Frank Jr. and his wife Ida, Robert and Kenneth Brooks. She will be sadly missed by her sisters-in-law Joan and Elaine Brooks and by her many nieces and nephews. In keeping with Doreen's wishes, cremation will be followed by a private family service. A Celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
