PATTERSON, ESTHER EDNA - Esther E. Patterson of Harvey Station, NB passed away July 11, 2008 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Born in Back Bay, NB, she was a daughter of the late Hazen and Margaret (French) Barrett. Esther loved her children and grandchildren and enjoyed the company of her many friends. She was an active member of Knox Presbyterian Church. Esther is survived by a daughter, Rhona Chase (Ralph), Fredericton, NB; two sons, Robert Patterson (Sherry), and their children, Amber and Vanessa, Dale Patterson (Kathy) and their children, Chad and Kelsie, all of Harvey Station, NB; two sisters, Hughena Perley, New River Beach, NB and Rhona Hooper (Paul), Saint John, NB; a brother, Colin Barrett (Joyce), Fredericton; a special friend, Gib Whittaker, Harvey Station, NB; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Esther was predeceased by her husband, Glenwood James Patterson in 1986, three brothers, Russell, Lloyd and Glenn Barrett and two sisters, Audrey and Virginia Barrett. Lois Humes 1927 - 2008 Lois Humes of Moncton, passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Saturday, July 12, 2008 at age 81 years. Born in New Glasgow, NS on March 10, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Leo J. and Zita (Martin) Cormier. She was a member of St. Augustines Roman Catholic Church and a member of the CWL of St. Augustines. She is survived by son, Robert "Bob" Humes (Joan) of St. John's, Newfoundland; grandchildren, Carla Humes (Rod Power) and Dr. Trevor Humes (Petrina) both of Newfoundland; five great-grandchildren; sisters Joyce Mann of Bathurst, NB, Ann Legere of Portland, Maine, Joan Trites (Len) of Ottawa, Ontario; also by several nieces and nephews. Lois was predeceased by her husband, Ronald "Ron" Humes in 1998; and daughter, Sandra Humes in 2005. Visitation will be held at Tuttle Bros. Odilon Mercure Mr. Odilon Mercure of Riviere Du Portage Road Baie Ste Anne who passed away on Sunday July 6th at the Miramichi Regional Hospital at the age of 79. Mr. Odilon Mercure was born in Baie Ste Anne, NB the son of the late Fred & Lina (Martin) Mercure. He is survived by daughters, Noella (Doug) of Moncton, Jacqueline (Frank) of Baie Ste Anne, Ernestine (Ade Jr.) of Baie Ste Anne, Antoinette (Claude) of Memramcook and Elisa (Sylvain) of Miramichi. Sons, Ovila (Louise) of Montreal, Robert (Debbie) of Moncton, Jean Paul of Baie Ste Anne, Roger of Montreal, Gerard (Lynn) of Miramichi, Rosaire (Lorraine) of Moncton, Marcel (Bev) of Bay Du Vin. Sisters, Dorina Maillet (Rene) of Massachusetts and Claudette (Jean-Jacques Morin) of Montreal. Brothers, Allain (Angela) of Moncton and Rodolphe of Baie Ste Anne. Dean Nowlan (1971 - 2008) Ste. Anne Shore - It is with great sorrow that the family announces the loss of their oldest son accidentally. Born in Moncton, Dean was the loving son of Ronald & Marie (Robichaud) Nowlan. Dean had worked as a fisherman liked bowling, pleasure fishing, four wheeling, and music. He attended Ste. He is survived by his loving brother; Kevin (Tina) - St. Charles, and his loving sister; Joy Nowlan Raduly (Endre) Fredericton and also by the love of his life Dylan, his only son. MacINNIS, John (Jay) - 55, passed away July 2, 2008, after a long battle with cancer in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He is survived by his wife, Dianne, and his two daughters, Amber (Travis) VanVoris and Sherry (Erick) MacInnis, and one son, Lee-Jay, all of Oklahoma, and his first wife Darleen Carthen of Texas. He is also survived by one grandson, Morgan Scott, and three granddaughters, Ginger MacInnis-Pierce, Eva Rose VanVoris, and Erycka Pierce, all of Oklahoma. Two brothers, Hughie (Shirley) of Sudbury, John (Wanda) of Kingston, N.S., two sisters, Mary Ann (Jim) Stewart of Hanson, Mass. and Peggy MacInnis of Val Caron. He is pre-deceased by his father, Alexander and mother, Mary- Catherine and brother Donald. Jay was born in Judique, Nova Scotia and moved to Sudbury at an early age. He graduated from LaSalle Secondary and worked in Sudbury before moving to the States with his family in 1990. He will be sadly missed by many friends and family in both the Sudbury

KUJANEN, Kauko Matias - In loving memory of Kauko Matias Kujanen, 79 years, who passed away Saturday, July 12th, 2008 at the Sudbury Regional Hospital - Laurentian Site. Born in Alaharma, Finland, Kauko worked as a miner at the INCO Frood Stobie Mine for 33 years, retiring in 1984. Throughout the years, Kauko enjoyed tending to his vegetable garden, blueberry picking, fishing, spending time at the summer camps of his friends, watching hockey and the winter Olympic games. He always enjoyed visiting with his grandchildren. Kauko came to Canada when he was a young man but he never forgot his roots in Finland. The family wishes to thank the Palliative Care Unit Staff for the compassionate care that they provided in Kauko's final weeks. Beloved husband of Raili (Viianen) Rujanen of Val Caron. Mona was predeceased by her loving husband Claude Menard in 1989, by her parents Gerry and Aline St-Onge and by her brother James St-Onge in 1998. HENEBERRY, Thomas -Passed away at the Kirkland & District Hospital on Wednesday, July 9, 2008. He is predeceased by his parents James “Jim“ and Margaret as well as his nephew Karl Heneberry. GORLICK, Paul Blair On July 8, 2008, Paul Blair Gorlick passed away peacefully at Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John, New Brunswick. Born in 1928 the son of the late James Gorlick and Helen Cogswell Gorlick, Paul was predeceased by his wife Phyllis, his sister Mary Nelson, brothers, Carl, Neil and William and step-sister, Genevieve Case. He is survived by his beloved companion, Jean Stairs; sons Alan from Toronto and Ian (Alison) from Ottawa. Paul is also survived by his brother Lawrence (Ruth) Gorlick of Fredericton and several nieces and nephews. Paul graduated from the University of New Brunswick and the Maritime School of Social Work, Dalhousie University where he received his Masters of Social Work degree. In the 1950s, Paul embarked on a life long passion for the Canadian Arctic as one of the federal government community development officers located in the Mackenzie Valley, Eastern Arctic, Churchill (Manitoba) and Ottawa (Ontario). A keen historian he attended the North American Fur Trade Conferences, enjoyed political discussions, keeping in touch with the old Northern hands, cooking, fishing, canoeing and camping. Paul was a wonderful storyteller and left us with many fond memories. By Paul's request there will be no funeral home visiting or service. Remembrances may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association. Evelyn Smith Evelyn May Smith, 91, of the Jordan Lifecare Center and formerly Salisbury passed away peacefully on Saturday July 12, 2008 at her residence. Born in Salisbury she was the wife of the late Earle F. Smith and the daughter of the late Kenneth and Mary (Bleakney) Campbell. Evelyn spent most of her life giving her time and talents to help make her community a better place. She assisted at monthly Public Health Baby Clinics for 39 years; volunteered at the Public Library; served as President and Secretary of the former Salisbury Women's Institute; was a former board member and secretary of Pine Hill Cemetery Inc. and a member of the Westmorland Co. Children's Aid Society for many years. She was also Past President of the Ladies Auxiliary Canadian Legion Branch # 31; helped to organize the Salisbury Unit of the Canadian Cancer Society and was Campaign Chairperson for Salisbury and surrounding area for 40 years and was also the Memorial Chairperson. She served as Clerk-Treasurer for the Salisbury Local Improvement District and Incorporated Village for 25 years. In 1977 she received the Governor-General's Medal for Community Service and was honoured by the Village of Salisbury for 45 years of Community Service in 1989. She will be sadly missed by her son, Rand (Carolyn); grandchildren, Shelley Jones (Edward), Christine Smith all of Salisbury and Scott (Kelly) of Lower Coverdale; seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Survived also by sisters, Grace Grills, Belleville On., Veta Westcott (Gene), Havelock On., Jean Gourley (Ernest), River Glade, Joyce Prosser , Salisbury; brothers, John Campbell (Kaye), Sussex, Jerry Campbell (Diane), River Glade. Predeceased by her parents; husband, Earle; sisters, Madeline Crandall, Marguerite Aylward, Geraldine Cormier; brother, Robert Campbell. DYKEMAN, JENNETTE MARUERITE - The death of Jennette Marguerite Dykeman of Minto, NB occurred Saturday, July 12, 2008 at the WG Bishop Nursing Home at the age of 92. Born in North Clones, Queens Co. NB, she was the daughter of the late Alwood and Margaret (Armstrong) Dunn. Jennette was a loving and generous wife, mother and mother in law, she taught school in various parts of New Brunswick, moving to Minto in 1942 where she taught school until retirement. She was an associate member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Minto and a faithful member of St. Michael and All Angels Anglican Church. Survived by her daughter, Margaret (Joanne) Nicholson and son in law, (Larry) of Minto, NB; great niece, Vanessa Dunn of Sussex; great nephews, Matthew Dunn of Sussex, Phillip Dunn of Alberta; great great nephews, Tyler McFarlane and Wyatt Matthew Dunn of Sussex; great great niece, Julie Dawn Dunn of Alberta. WILLIAMSON, MARION E. - Marion E. Williamson, 84, of K.E. Spencer Memorial Home Moncton, passed away peacefully at her residence on Friday July 11, 2008. Born in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late Keith and Elizabeth (Gordon) Grant. Marion attended St. James Anglican Church, she enjoyed reading, travelling, spending time at the cottage on Grand Lake and first and foremost she enjoyed spending quality time with her family and friends. She was actively involved federally and provincially with the Progressive Conservative Party holding several key positions over the years.
