Gerry, beloved husband of Elizabeth “Betty“ Redman; loving father of Anthony and David. COUSE, A. Keith (B.A., B.S.W., M.S.W., Diploma in Criminology) - Peacefully at Royal Victoria Hospital, Barrie on Wednesday July 9th, 2008. Keith Couse formerly of Cookstown in his 85th year. Beloved husband and best friend of Molly (nee Kidd) for 56 years. Dear father of Michael (Diane) and Scott (Linda Lee). Cherished Papa and Grandpa of Alison, Andrea and Seth. Brother of Jean, John, Gordon and predeceased by Paul and Harry. Keith was a Veteran of WWII RCAF from 1941-1945. He was a social worker with the John Howard Society of Ontario eventually obtaining the position of Executive Director. During this time in Toronto Keith also taught criminology at the University of Toronto. From 1978-1989 Keith became the Associate Professor at the school of Human Justice, University of Regina Sk. and during his employment he was assigned to several Federal and Provincial task forces. During his retirement Keith was a very active volunteer participating as a board member and chair of the Essa Centennial Library Board, board member and past president of the Children's Aid Society of Simcoe County and was the volunteer co-ordinator for the Ontario Provincial Police, Barrie Attachment Victims Assistance Program. Keith will be sadly missed by his family and friends. A memorial service will be held at Cookstown United Church on Tuesday July 15th at 1:00 p.m. The Interment of ashes will take place at a later date. ZANIOL, Frank Anthony - Passed away at the Greater Niagara General Hospital on Wednesday July 9, 2008 at the age of 71. Beloved husband of 46 years to Janet (Hopkins) Zaniol. Dearly loved father of Leanne (Scott) Russell and Dean (Leona) Zaniol. He was the Best Nonno to Julia and Nicky Zaniol and Chelsea Russell. Dear brother-in-law of Jack (Lydia) Hopkins and Rick Galway. He will be sadly missed by his special close friends Joe and Marlene Orosz and by his nieces, nephews, great- nieces, great-nephews, aunts and cousins in Niagara Falls, Nova Scotia, Italy, the U.S. and others in Ontario. Predeceased by his parents Octavio and Tonina, his sister Vanda Galway, his in-laws Fred and Leona Hopkins, his brother-in-law Harry Hopkins and by many aunts, uncles and cousins. Frank was in the business of specialty nuts and bolts operating under the name Niagara Fasteners Inc. for 36 years and ran the business along with his son Dean, daughter Leanne, son-in-law Scott and special friends Joe Orosz, Ted Neal, Mike McCrum and all loyal employees. Frank's enjoyment of life came from being with family and friends and his three grandchildren were his pride and joy. Frank also enjoyed being semi-retired the past several years by spending time with family and friends and golfing in Sarasota, Florida during the winter months. He will be missed. Cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday July 15th at 1:00 p.m. at Fairview Cemetery. RODE, Dianne - Passed away peacefully after a short illness at the St. Catharines General Hospital on Wednesday, July 9th, 2008 at the age of 58. Diane was the beloved daughter of Art and Gwen Rode. She will be sadly missed by her brother Dave (Sherron) Rode and sister Gloria Bartley. Dianne was also survived by her nephew Matt (Erica) Bartley and nieces Laura Bartley and Holly and Katie Rode. She was a great-aunt to Preston Bartley. Dianne was also predeceased by her brother-in-law Les Bartley (2005). Dianne worked as an R.N.A. for 30 years at the St. Catharines General Hospital. She recently completed her grade 12 education, something she was very proud of. The family would like to thank all of the doctors, nurses and staff in the I.C.U. for their compassionate care. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Dianne's Life will take place on Sunday, July 27th at 2 p.m. at 321 Geneva Street. Born in St. Catherines, son of the late Arthur and Amy (Bucknell) James. Predeceased by his “wonderful“ wife Margaret (Smith) (2000). Mr. James was a member of the Holy Trinity Anglican Church where he sang in the choir for many years. OBITUARY LINDA JOAN HALL (nee PIBUS) Passed away peacefully at Port Colborne General Hospital, on Wednesday, July 9, 2008. Beloved wife of the late Douglas Hall, her cherished friend and companion for more than forty years. Survived by her son Robert, daughter Margot, sister Diane Binmore and brother Chris Pibus. Linda was born in Montreal and was raised in Lachine, Quebec. Her lifelong love of horses came from childhood days spent in the Eastern Townships at her grandparents' farm. Linda spent many years operating Cedar Hall Stables in the Kitchener area, and subsequently in Port Colborne, raising and training the horses that she loved. In recent years, she suffered from failing health, but remained an indomitable spirit and a generous friend. A private interment is planned at Knowlton Cemetery, in the Eastern Townships. YOUNG, Stewart A. - Entered into rest at the West Haldimand Hospital, Hagersville, on Tuesday, July 1, 2008, Stewart Young of Caledonia, in his 89th year. Beloved husband of the late Gladys Moore. BENSON, EMERSON W. - The death of Benson "EM" Emerson Ward formerly of Saint John West, husband of the late Dorothy Boyd-Merrill and Audrey Davidson-Larson, occurred on Thursday, July 10, 2008 at Loch Lomond Villa Inc.
