CHRISTIE, Gonnie - At Hospice Niagara on June 2, 2008, at the age of 64. Beloved fiance of Ron MacMicken. She will be forever in the hearts of her children Dwayne and Sandra and, Scott and Joanna. Cherished Gramoo of Justin, Jesselyn, Matthew and Dylan. Dear sister of Leni DeRose and nephew Trevor (Penny) Koopmans. Predeceased by her parents John and Nell, her sister Nelly, brother Butch and brother-in-law Rich. Gonnie worked for many years in childcare and with the Alzheimer's Society. She loved to dance and travel but her true passion was spending time with her family. Cremation has taken place. DONIVAN, Mr. Victor Joseph - With family by his side, Victor died peacefully at 90 years of age on June 2nd, 2008 in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, after a short, courageous battle with cancer. Born in Chapleau, Ontario, on December 17th, 1917, Victor was the youngest of 12 children born to Patrick Donivan and Mary O'Leary who settled in Chapleau in 1904. He also greatly enjoyed the company of his half- brother, Ray, born to Patrick Donivan and Mary McGaughey who died in childbirth and was lovingly raised by Victor's mother, Patrick's second wife. Victor met and married his cherished companion and wife of 66 years, Delia Vondette, in Sudbury and together they returned to the Chapleau homestead that had been willed to him by his father. He found work as a trainman with the Canadian Pacific Railway and spent his years working as a conductor, finally retiring at 60 years of age. Vic and Delia spent their last seven years living in Sault Ste. Marie after ill health forced him to leave his beloved family homestead in Chapleau. Victor was a compassionate, thoughtful and honorable man who profoundly loved his family and was equally loved in return. A lifelong member of the Sacred Heart Church in Chapleau, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Vic was the best man we'll ever know. A mentor, his most important lesson taught to his family was never to discount their own capabilities and to maintain family closeness and loyalty. Survived by his adoring wife, Delia, daughter Shirley and husband Frank Sorrels, daughter Lillian and husband Bill Therriault, and daughter Debra and husband Tim Cross. He was a proud grandfather to six grandchildren and eight great- grandchildren. He will also be greatly missed by many nieces and nephews. MOORE, Robin Peter - Passed away after a lengthy illness at Oakwood Park Lodge on Friday, May 30, 2008 at the age of 70. Loving husband to Pauline (Laramee). Devoted father to his sons Peter and his wife Desiree, and Brent. Survived by his grandchildren Jessica, Jeremey, Savanna, MacKenzie. Also by his brother Tony (Edna) and their families in England, his sister Dawn and her husband Graham also from England. Son-in-law of Charles Vallee (the late Claire Kaine) Brother-in-law to Sandra (Tim), Wanda (Al), Vince (Irene. Other family members in Canada and England join Pauline and her family in mourning their loss of Robin. Robin lived his life as a true gentleman up to his final breath. MARSH, Harry passed away at the Welland Hospital on Monday June 2, 2008 in his 97th year. Husband and best friend of Kathleen (nee Davies) for 66 years. BELL (Teakle) Lester W. Capt. Rtd. C.A.P.C. - Born in Halifax, N.S. on January 2, 1932. He leaves his wife Dolores (Abbott), daughter Debra (Lyle) Teakle, Niagara Falls and son Steven (Rebeckah), Mesquite, Texas. A very special Bampy to Trevor (Rachel), Traci, Katherine (Chris) and Jennifer. Great Bampy to Ethan. Predeceased by his parents Harold and Geneva Bell, granddaughter Stephanie Bell, sisters Shirley, Doris and Francis, and brother Harold. He served in the Canadian Armed Forces for 25 years. Conroy, John - It is with great sadness and sorrow that the family announce the passing of John Conroy. Born in Glasgow Scotland, 1934, John and his wife Susan (pre-deceased September 2006) and sons Joseph and Gerard immigrated to Canada in May 1964. John was a long time resident of Mimico and Mississauga before retiring to Elliot Lake. John passed on May 31, 2008 at the St. Joseph's Hospital in Elliot Lake. John is survived by his sons Joseph (wife Jill) and Gerard (wife Colleen). Wonderful grandfather to 5 granddaughters, Taryn, Kaylea, Jamie, Caitlin and Meaghan. John is survived by his sisters and brothers in law, Mary and Archie, Jeanette and Ken Meinhart of Maryland, Josephine Conroy of Glasgow and Elizabeth O'Neill of Whitby, ON. Also, sisters in law Elsie Meechan, Anne Fox, Rachel Morrell, Mary Rigg and Harry Carr, all of Glasgow Scotland. John will also be fondly remembered by fiancé Pauline Guertin of Elliot Lake, daughter Sarah and Andrew, granddaughters Caroline and Melissa of Brooklin, ON, Etienne and Rhona Guertin and granddaughter Erin of Elliot Lake. John was a long time member of the Knights of Columbus Council, #4499 of Elliot Lake. He was a kind endearing, caring husband, grandfather and friend to all who came in contact with him. We have been blessed with his presence, compassion and loving ways. He will be sadly missed. Elaine Miriam Bingham 1913 - 2008 Elaine Miriam Bingham (née Stevens) passed away at the Moncton Hospital on Monday, June 2, 2008 at the age of 94 years. Born in Sunny Brae, she was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was the daughter of the late Thomas P. Stevens and Georgie (Burgess) Stevens. She was predeceased by her brothers, Thomas and Henry Stevens and sister Laura (Ken) Ambrose; and her husband, George J. Bingham, QC. She is survived by her daughter, Jill S. Bingham; her son, W. Ross (Bonnie) Bingham, QC; her grandchildren, Todd (Hélène) Bingham, Kelsey D. Bingham, Sandy (Jane) Bingham; her great-grandchildren Émilie and Patrick Bingham; her sister-in-law, Edith (wife of the late Henry) Stevens and several nieces and nephews. She was a graduate of Aberdeen High School (1933), Horton Academy (1935) in Wolfville, NS and Acadia University (1937) with a degree in Home Economics, where she was also involved in the drama society and student council. She was a loving and caring person whose family came first. She enjoyed her cottage at the Bluff, a love of antiques and art, water colour painting and cards. She was a long time member of Central United Church and the funeral will be held there on Thursday, June 5, 2008 at 3:00pm with the Rev. Dr. James MacDonald officiating. A time of reception will be shared following the service. Joseph Comfort 1940 - 2008 Joseph Comfort, 68, passed away peacefully at the Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital on Monday, June 2, 2008 after a lengthy illness. Born on May 15, 1940 son of the late Owen and Helena (Matchett) Comfort. Joseph will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Loretta of 47 years; three sons, Larry (Billie Joe), Kenny (Sonia), Kevin (Jackie); one daughter, Christina Lee (Rob), 15 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He is also survived by four brothers, Owen, Brian, Paul, David and two sisters, Libby and Debbie as well as several nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles. Armand J. LeBlanc Of Waltham, died Wednesday evening, May 21, 2008, at the Newton Wellesley Hospital after a brief illness. He was 83. The son of the late Edward "Eddie" and Melina (Belliveau) LeBlanc, he was born, raised and educated in New Brunswick, Canada and has been a Waltham resident most of his life. Working in the building trades for many years, he then went on to be employed with the facility maintenance department at Bentley College in Waltham and after his retirement worked had part time with Designs in Blinds and Drapes in Waltham. Mr. LeBlanc loved walking, tending to his yard and home, music and socializing at the French American Victory Club in Waltham. He was predeceased by his wife, Lorraine R. (Landry) LeBlanc in 2005, and has the brother of the late Doris Breau, Corrine Bourgeois, Celina Leger, Laurie, Henry, Joseph and Paul LeBlanc. Mr. LeBlanc is survived by his children, Linda M. LeBlanc, Richard J. LeBlanc, Patricia A. LeBlanc and Susan M. LeBlanc all of Waltham, his sisters, Josie Babin and her companion, Norman of Dieppe, NB, Irene LeBlanc and her husband, Louis of Middleton, Claudette LeBlanc and her husband, Albert of Dieppe, NB, Maria LeBlanc and her husband, Edward of St. Kent, NB and his brother, Arthur LeBlanc and his wife, Corrine of Grand'Brachois, NB. His many nieces and nephews also survive him. Services will be held on Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. from the Brasco and Sons Memorial, 773 Moody Street, Waltham, with a Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Charles Church at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at the Mount Feake Cemetery in Waltham. Bertha Naylor 1921 - 2008 Bertha Naylor, of Royal Court and formerly of Lindsay St. Riverview, passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Monday, June 2, 2008 at the age of 87 years. Born in Toronto, On. on May 5, 1921, she was the daughter of the late David and Bertha (Ford) Rycroft. She was a member of Gunningsville Baptist Church and a life member of the Whitepine WMS. Bertha was an active volunteer with Pioneer Girls and was a Board Member of Camp Cherith Atlantic. A loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother an aunt, she will be sadly missed by her children James "Jim" Naylor of Riverview, Ruth (Ken Bresnen) of Montreal and Elizabeth (John Czenze) of Halifax; her grandchildren Jeremy, Kristina, Julien and Ben; as well as her nephews. Bertha was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Harold J. Naylor in 1999; her brothers David and Stan, and her sister Blanche. Joseph Cléophas Daigle Le 19 mai 2008, à l'hopital Régional de Campbellton, est décédé à l'âge de 79 ans, Joseph Cléophas Daigle, époux de feue Marie Boudreau de Dalhousie. Né à Bathurst le 19 janvier 1929, il était le fils de feu Donald Daigle et de feue Marie Angeline Boudreau. Joseph Cléophas Daigle était retiré après 44 ans de service chez "Lounsbury's Garage" à Dalhousie ou il exerçait la fonction de "Bodyshop Foreman". Cléophas était un homme de coeur qui aimait et était aimé en retour. Il était travaillant, honnête et il aimait les choses simples de la vie. Il restera, pour toujours, une partie de nous et son souvenir contribuera à notre bonheur futur. Il laisse dans le deuil ses deux garçons Roger (Eveline Carrier), Robert (Jeannette Plourde) et ses deux filles Noella (Alden Appleby) et Rose-Marie Daigle. Il laisse aussi dans le deuil ses petits enfants : Richard Daigle, Mélanie Daigle (Sean Furto), Eric Robert Daigle (Stéphanie Cormier), Mark Plourde, Lucie M. Appleby, Luce D. Appleby (René Cormier), Dominique Tellier-Daigle et son arrière petit fils : Jacob Eric Daigle ainsi que plusieurs nièces et neveux. Il sera aussi regretté par ses frères Emile (Jeannine) et Claude (Carmel), ses soeurs Marie-Rose (Leo Boudreau), Lucienne (Raymond Boucher) et Emilia (Bernard Melanson). Il a été prédécédé par son épouse Marie Boudreau et son fils Claude ainsi que ses soeurs Anabelle (Billy Webster) et Evangéline (Ernie Morrison). Les funérailles ont eu lieu à l'église St. Jean Baptiste de Dalhousie le 22 mai 2008. Le Père Landry présidait la cérémonie. L'inhumation a eu lieu au cimetière St Jean Baptiste de Dalhousie. La direction des funérailles a été confiée aux soins du salon funéraire Maher de Dalhousie.

Kenneth Scott Murray Family and friends were deeply shocked by the sudden death of Scott Murray of Edmonton, Alberta which occurred on May 11, 2008. Born on May 27, 1969, Scott was employed in the Heating and Ventilation industry, following his graduation from technical college in St. Andrews, N.B. Scott was an avid sports enthusiast and his many friends enjoyed his jovial sense of humour and zest for life. Scott is survived by his mother, Brenda Murray, Campbellton; his only remaining grandparent, Patrick (Pampee) O'Connell, Escuminac; his sister, Tricia Murray, Vancouver; his father, Ken Murray, Campbellton; and his two children, Kelsey and Tyler. The funeral arrangements were coordinated by Savoie Funeral Home and the largely attended funeral service was conducted by his uncle, Pastor Nicholas Murray of Ontario with a special tribute in song by his cousin, Troy Jones of Moncton. The eulogy was presented by his father and daughter, Kelsey. A reception was provided at Savoie Funeral Home following the service. Rene Roy 1945 - 2008 At the Campbellton Regional Hospital on Sunday, May 18, 2008, passed away Mr. Rene Roy of Val d'Amour at the age of 62, husband of Linda Gauthier-Roy. He was the son of Mrs. Rose-Anna (Audet) Hachey and late Herby Roy. Isabel Doris Stewart Passed away at the Campbellton Village Nursing Home on May 29, 2008 at the age of 94, Mrs. Isabel Doris Stewart. Born in Broadlands, QC on April 26, 1914, she was the daughter of the late Melvin Downs and the late Mary Anningson. She leaves to mourn her daughter, Catherin "Kay" (Al) James of Brampton, ON; her daughter-in-law, Joan Stewart of Cornwall, ON; and her son, Fred (Donna) Stewart of Port Rowan, ON. Also survived by 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 3 great great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband Hubert, two sons, Murray and David. BOUDREAU, GEORGE HENRY - Unexpectedly at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John NB on June 3rd, 2008, Mr. George Henry Boudreau, husband of Alda Marie (Belliveau) Boudreau of Blacks Harbour NB. Born at Woodvale NS on January 7th, 1926, he was a son of the late Terrance and Nellie (Saulnier) Boudreau. A loving husband, father and grandfather, he is survived by his wife, Alda; two sons, Emile (Judy) Boudreau and Ernest (Wendy) Boudreau both of Pennfield; two daughters, Annette Boudreau (Raymond Breau) and Lorraine (Richard) Hooper also of Pennfield; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by two sisters and three brothers and was the last surviving member of his immediate family. George worked for Connors Brothers in Blacks Harbour for 39 years. He enjoyed spending time woodworking, waving to his friends from his front window and spending time with his family and many friends. Resting at the St. George Funeral Home & Crematorium (755-3533), 26 Portage Street, St. George NB with visiting on Wednesday from 7-9 PM and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. CLAIR, CYNTHIA (CINDY) - After a courageous battle with cancer, Cindy passed away at home on June 2, 2008 surrounded by family and friends. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband Gilles, daughter Ellie and son Joel. Cindy was the daughter of Thomas Hunter and the late Eleanor Garrett of Bathurst. MOREHOUSE, DONALD LYMAN - March 18th, 1926 - June 2nd, 2008. On Monday, June 2nd, 2008, Don Morehouse passed away at the DECRH while surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in Digby, NS, Don served with the Canadian Army during the 2nd World War before moving to New Brunswick. He worked in sales, book keeping, accounting and as manager for Fredericton's first A & W outlet. Along with his love for music, church, and a little golf, Don particularly loved family gatherings and singing his favorite songs. His quick wit and "punny" sense of humor was always enjoyed by all. Don was affiliated with the Lutheran Church and was actively involved with St. Matthews in Fredericton. Don is survived by his wife of 53 years, Elly (Pedersen); son, Rick (Marie) of Taymouth; daughter, Deborah Currie (Ralph) of Fredericton. Grandchildren Kelsey and Brent will miss their "Grampie". BRUNDIGE, Evelyn 2008-06-04 August 5, 1917 - June 1, 2008 Mrs. Evelyn Brundige passed away on Sunday, June 1, 2008. She was born to Alfred and Louisa Crowhurst in Sioux Lookout, Ontario and attended Cornwall School and Port Arthur Collegiate. On July 23, 1937 she married Carl Brundige who predeceased her on March 27, 1972. Evelyn was a long-time member of the Order of the Royal Purple, having served as Honoured Royal Lady and District Deputy. Survived by sons Bill (Lynda) of Black Creek, BC and Bob (Sylvia) of Calgary, Alberta; daughter Jackie Grynol of Fort Frances, Ontario; brother Walter Crowhurst of Mission, BC; five grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her parents, husband Carl, grandson Andy Grynol, son-in-law Nick Grynol, sisters Madge Peters and Norma Burgess. SIMMONS, Audrey Maureen 2008-06-04 SIMMONS Mrs. Audrey Maureen Simmons, 57 years young, passed away unexpectedly in the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre, on Tuesday, June 3, 2008 with close family and friends at her side. Audrey was born in Ombabika, Ontario, and then resided in Thunder Bay. Audrey was a very outgoing and easy loving person with many gifts that touched everyone who knew her. She loved to listen to Elvis Presley and Charlie Pride. Audrey enjoyed spending time with family and friends and extremely proud of being a Nana to her grandchildren Bryce and Jasmine. She enjoyed joking around and telling old stories, and loved the sight of having a house full of plants, flowers, and all the little knickknacks of Elvis Presley. Audrey is survived by her husband Gerald Simmons (Porchus and her children: Wanda Metansinine (Jean), Wendy Darling (Richard) and Jonathan Simmons (Michelle); two grandchildren: Bryce Primeau and Jasmine Darling as well as Lisa Metansinine. She also had a special place in her heart to be a mother to Dorothy Cheesequay and Bart Metansinine; brothers: Maurice Fournier(Metansinine) ˆVera, Raymond Sassines (Alice), John Metansinine (Mary); sisters: Pedlick Cheesequay, Jane Fournier, Maryann Nord (Cliff), Dorothy Goodman (Frank), and Vivian Simmons (Victor).Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. She was predeceased by her mother Aileen Fournier, and father Frank Sassines and brother Alex Fournier. BYRNS, Douglas Gordon - After a brave fight with cancer, when Douglas Gordon Byrns had finished the race the Lord had laid out for him, the Lord came for him to take him to the place He had prepared for him as He had faithfully promised. (John 14, Romans 8). At the Norman Site of Bluewater Health on Monday, June 2nd, 2008, Douglas Gordon Byrns of Forest. Dearly missed by his loving wife Penny. Doug is survived by sisters Elizabeth (Gerald), Edith and Jean and brother Robert (Vi). Sadly missed by several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents Thomas and Jessie and brothers Tom and Stan. Proud and skilled member of Local #1256 Carpenters Union. Doug was a faithful member of Forest Baptist Church, holding numerous positions. As long as he could, he was an AWANA listener. LAMOTHE, Yvonne (née Moreau) - It is with great sorrow that the family announces her death on Saturday, May 31st at the Smooth Rock Falls Hospital, Long Term Care Unit at the age of 92. She was predeceased by her husband, Armand; one daughter, Claire; one granddaughter, Danielle; and by one great-grandson, Ricky. She is survived by five children: André Lamothe (Oneilda), Réjean Lamothe (Lucette), Suzanne Boivin (Guy), Nicole Leblanc (Jean-Yves) and Léo Lamothe (Tammy); 12 grandchildren: Ron, Yves, Derek, Jesse, Brandon and Connor Lamothe, Marc St-Jean, Darby Frenette, Nanette Leblanc, Cid, Monique and Mélanie Boivin; as well as 21 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter Zoé. The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Dr. Lebel and the Smooth Rock Falls Hospital Long Term Care staff for their compassion and genuine caring as well as the excellent standard of care.
