Daughter of the late Frances McLeod and the late Thomas Paquette. Loved mother of Tom (Lois), Carol Valin and Marilyn Wrightsell, all of Ottawa, Darlene Borden (Greg) of Carleton Place, Cheryl (Mike Manion) and Susan Wrightsell-Wall, both of Almonte. Predeceased by a daughter, Roberta. Proud grandmother of Jennifer Writghtsell-Hughes (Jeff Hughes), Jaqueline Wrightsell, James and Bryan Valin, Sean Manion, Cameron, Connor and Cali Wall. Great-grandmother of Paul and William Hughes. Dear sister of Frances Harmer of Winnipeg and Ethel Rainville of Flin Flon. Predeceased by brothers Walter, Ivan and Tom as well as sisters Mildred, Irene, Phyllis, Gladys and Margaret. Helen will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, family members and friends. TAYLOR, Thelma Norene - Thelma passed away at Grey Bruce Health Services in Meaford at the age of 84, on Saturday May 3, 2008, after a brief illness. Born in Euphrasia Township on April 9, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Harman and Clara (née Hindman) Cook. Thelma married Arthur Herbert Taylor on October 26, 1946. The couple enjoyed working together in the family orchards in Clarksburg for many years. Bird watching, quilting, gardening and baking apple pies were some of Thelma's many interests. Thelma will be remembered for her ever present smile and quiet manner. She was committed not only to her family but also to her church and community. She will be forever remembered as a loving mother by her daughter Bonnie and her husband Brian McColgan of Meaford, son Ted Taylor and his wife Sonia of Chatham, and daughter Joyce Gauci of Meaford. Thelma was predeceased by her beloved husband Art in February 1994 and by her daughter Linda Thoms of Craigleith in August 2004. Thelma was the cherished mother-in-law of Brenda Taylor of Clarksburg and Stewart Thoms of Craigleith. Thelma will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren: Taylor and Kelly; Michelle (Kevin), Michael (Anna), Meghan (Mike), Joey and Jessie; Erin (Blue); Dustin and Josh and by her great-granddaughters; Caitlin, Keira and Kendra. She was predeceased by her brother, Beverley Cook of Rocklyn, in September 2000 and is warmly remembered by her sister-in-law Eileen Cook of Owen Sound. Thelma will be sadly missed by her sisters-in-law Edna (late Fred) Taylor of Victoria B.C. and formerly of Clarksburg, Edna (late Willard) Julian of Meaford, Elsie (late Don) Watts of Clarksburg, and Audrey (late Howard) Eagles, of Meaford. Her several nieces and nephews and their families will also recall their Aunt Thelma with great affection. Thelma's funeral arrangements were entrusted to the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME in Meaford and funeral services, officiated by Reverend Dr. Robert Buchanan, were conducted at St. Paul's Presbyterian Church in Thornbury on Tuesday May 6, 2008. Son-in-law Brian McColgan and son Ted Taylor offered remembrances of Thelma in tribute to her life during the service. A service of committal and interment followed at Lakeview Cemetery in Meaford where Thelma was interred beside her late husband Art with pallbearers being grandsons Kelly McColgan, Michael and Joseph Taylor, Blue Melnick, and Dustin and Josh Gauci. LA FLECHE, Paul Leon August 19, 1945 - May 10, 2008 Paul Leon La Fleche, died peacefully with his family at his side, May 10, 2008, at the Agape Hospice. Paul was born in Deloraine, MB, on August 19, 1945. He received his education in Winnipeg at Sacre Coeur School, Vincent Massey Collegiate, College St. Boniface, as well as graduating with a Bachelor of Science from the University of Manitoba. His professional life took Paul and his family to several places across Eastern Canada and to Paris, and Calgary for the last number of years. There, Paul co-founded Westcan Data and Touch Tone Data, later to be merged into XI Technologies. He was a highly skilled systems analyst, computer programmer and a technical visionary, and was highly respected by his peers and fellow workers throughout his career in the computer software industry. Paul particularly enjoyed being with his family and always animated the discussions around the supper table. He also participated in numerous long-distance cycling trips, made bread from scratch, and was an excellent pitchnut player. He was predeceased by his father and mother, Armand and Therese La Fleche. He will be deeply missed and cherished by his loving wife of thirty-nine years, Phyllis (Beaudin), daughters Nathalie (Craig Scherba) of Calgary (temporarily in Madagascar), Murielle (Brant) Inman of Rochester, MN, Caroline (Matthieu) Clouqueur of Munich, Germany, along with his beloved grandchildren: Thomas, Hannah, Olivier, Xavier, and Antoine. Moreover, he leaves his siblings: Lorraine (Dan) Coyle, Lucille (Robert) Ingram, Claudette (Ronald) Giesinger, Robert (Elaine) La Fleche, Armand (Aline) La Fleche, and Jeannette (Francois) La Fleche, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Peter's Catholic Church (541 Silvergrove Drive N.W.) on Friday, May 16, 2008 at 11:30 a.m. A Graveside Service is contemplated for a later date in Winnipeg. Née le 13 septembre 1926, elle était fille de feu Howard et Lela Vibert. DOUGLAS, Mary Lou (nee Galloway) - Passed away peacefully in Georgetown on Saturday May 10th with her loving husband at her side. Beloved wife and best friend of Norm Douglas, she was the dearest mother of Kevin (partner Christy) and Derek Young (partner Gillian), sons of Neil Young, Leah (husband Joe) of Wheaton, Shannon (husband Todd) of Ottawa, and Joanna of Toronto. “Gramma Lou“ to Klara, Macey, Mattea and Lyla. Mary Lou was predeceased by parents Evelyn and Bruce Galloway (formerly of Wiarton and Sault Ste. Marie, ON). Loving sister of June (husband George) of Edmonton, Tom (wife Bev) of Brampton and Cathy of Sudbury. Mary Lou will be sadly missed by her nephews Andre, Cameron and Vince, and nieces Janice and Holly. In 2001, she retired from her profession as a pharmacist in Georgetown and Acton but still kept busy with the Hallmark Store in the Georgetown mall. She traveled the world, enjoyed her garden, was an active curling member of North Halton Golf and Curling Club and the University Women's Club. Mary Lou spent her last days surrounded by her faithful friends and family who will always remember her selflessness, smile and caring heart. The family is so grateful for the wonderful care she received from Dr. Stakiw at Credit Valley, Drs. Remple and Zeni at Georgetown Hospital, and all the nursing staff at both facilities. VAUTOUR, PHILLIP JOSEPH - The death of Phillip Joseph Vautour, husband of the late Jacqueline (Bradford) Vautour, occurred on Sunday May 11, 2008 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born 1926 in Saint John he was the son of the late Joseph Basil and Geneveive (LeBlanc) Vautour. Phillip worked as a Plastic Molder for Plastic Craft for 31 years, retiring in 1992. He enjoyed hunting and fishing but was happiest when he was surrounded by his family. He is survived by his son Steven Vautour (Angela) of Saint John; daughter Debbie Dawson (Vautour) of Saint John; two grandchildren Zachery and Brittany; brother Norman Vautour (Amy) of Musquodobit Harbour, NS; sisters Verna LeBlanc of Saint John and Imelda Sunderland (Frank) of Bradford, ON; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and wife he was predeceased by brothers Arthur and Maxim.
