MORLEY, Marie - Suddenly at her residence on Sunday May 11, 2008 after a courageous battle with cancer. Marie Morley of Courtice in her 56th year. Beloved daughter of Margaret Morley and the late Peter Morley. Dear sister of Dave (Gloria) of Peterborough, Anne Ryalls of Gore's Landing and Philip (Elinor) of Germany. Sadly missed by her nieces Devon and Alexandra and her nephews Patrick, Brett, Luke and the late Ian. Fondly remembered by her aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. Marie was a great lover of animals especially her dogs and cats. Marie was a French teacher with the Durham District School Board and a member of the Oshawa Curling Club. She was also a volunteer with handicapped children at the Grandview Children's Centre for 5 years. Friends will be received at the NISBETT FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 600 Monaghan Rd. MCPHERSON, June Maitland - April 20, 1928 - May 12, 2008, born Coronation, Alberta, nee Dillon. In her 81st year, passed away peacefully and with dignity at the Kingston General Hospital, Kingston, Ontario. Beloved wife to Dr. Victor A. McPherson and mother to Marilyn, Barbara, Victor and John; grandmother to Gillian, Jennifer, Alexis, Victor, Greg, Caitlin, Robert, Lindsay and Stephanie and great- grandmother to Owen, Kylie and Lila. DAY, HELEN GRACE - It is with great sadness the family announce the peaceful passing of Helen Grace Day, widow of the late Grenville Chester Day; of Saint John formerly of Woodstock; at the Dr.V. A. Snow Center on Saturday, May 10, 2008. Born on December 7, 1922 to the late James and Sade (Sadie) Thornton. Helen was a Veteran of WWII and worked as a French translator, following the war she worked as an accountant for G.R. Patstone. In later years worked for the Canadian Red Cross retiring in 1985. She was much involved with her family, church and community. Outgoing and keeping herself busy with darts, bowling, clubs such as TOPS and the Recycled Teenagers. Helen was always willing to lend a helping hand. She was a member of the Grand Bay Baptist Church and a past member of the Grace Memorial Baptist Church, a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary in Woodstock and a past member of the Jervis Bay Legion. She is survived by her son, Gregory Harold and her sister, Audrey Power; several nieces, nephews and many friends. Besides her parents and husband, Helen was predeceased by son, Donald "Donnie"; four brothers, Wendell, Donald, Gerald and Allan; and two sisters, Faye DeLong and Marjorie Gracey. The family would like to extend their heart felt appreciation to the staff of the Dr. V.A. Snow Center in Hampton for the excellent and loving care given to Helen during her stay with them. Resting at the Fundy Funeral Home 230 Westmorland Rd. (646-2424) with visitation on Tuesday May 13, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Legion Tribute will take place Tuesday evening at 7 pm. CHIBRY, Fred November 14, 1926 - May 10, 2008 With deep sadness the family of Fred Chibry announces his peaceful passing on Saturday, May 10, 2008 at the age of 81 years. Fred was predeceased by his loving wife Corinne in 1993; four siblings, Mike, Nick, Mary and Frances. Fred will be lovingly remembered by his three children, Danny (Lois) Chibry, Toni (Lindsay) Keating, Tami (Bob) Scott as well as his grandchildren, Mathew (Nancy) Chibry, Sara (Chris) Saunders, Nick and Nathan Keating, Tyler, Cody and Cady Scott; great-granddaughters, Brooke, Anna, Kate and Maggie as well as many nieces, nephews and his honorary grandsons. Fred started work as a teenager at the Calgary Brewery and was employed there until he took an early retirement to travel with Corinne. Dad enjoyed being a snow bird for several years and traveling to lots of places with Mom. He also enjoyed fishing, golfing, dancing, bird hunting, Chauffeuring and playing games with Cady and curling at the Ogden Legion Branch No. 154 where he held a membership for many years. Fred also really loved company, and always had a cold beer with the boys! Everyone always loved the hilarious stories he always told. Dad requested not to have a Funeral Service. SWEENY, Ella Elizabeth. In her eighty-fourth year, on May 11, 2008, at Toronto Western Hospital, of complications following a heart attack. Beloved wife of the late Thomas Gray Sweeny, dear mother of Carolyn Tanner (Curt Peoples), David Tanner (Amanda), and Robert Tanner (Dalia), loved sister of Gordon Forster, cherished grandmother of Ashley, Lindsay, Stephen, Peter, Georgia and Charlie. She leaves also the extended Sweeny family, Joan Thomson, Jim Sweeny and Heather Thomson and their children, Claire, Mary, Bridget, Johanne, and Tamara, and Robert Sweeny and Elizabeth-Anne Malischewski and their daughter Charlotte-Anne, who welcomed her into their lives almost twenty years ago and added immeasurably to her happiness. Larry passed at home, May 7, 2008 with his bride at his side and surrounded by friends. Larry was a special man who will always be remembered for his mischievous nature and genuine love of life. DOUGLAS, Mary Lou (nee Galloway) - Passed away peacefully in Georgetown on Saturday May 10th with her loving husband at her side. Beloved wife and best friend of Norm Douglas, she was the dearest mother of Kevin (partner Christy) and Derek Young (partner Gillian), sons of Neil Young, Leah (husband Joe) of Wheaton, Shannon (husband Todd) of Ottawa, and Joanna of Toronto. “Gramma Lou“ to Klara, Macey, Mattea and Lyla. Mary Lou was predeceased by parents Evelyn and Bruce Galloway (formerly of Wiarton and Sault Ste. Marie, ON). Loving sister of June (husband George) of Edmonton, Tom (wife Bev) of Brampton and Cathy of Sudbury. Mary Lou will be sadly missed by her nephews Andre, Cameron and Vince, and nieces Janice and Holly. In 2001, she retired from her profession as a pharmacist in Georgetown and Acton but still kept busy with the Hallmark Store in the Georgetown mall. She traveled the world, enjoyed her garden, was an active curling member of North Halton Golf and Curling Club and the University Women's Club. Mary Lou spent her last days surrounded by her faithful friends and family who will always remember her selflessness, smile and caring heart. RICHARDS, JOHN WILLIAM The passing of John W. Richards of Lincoln, NB occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on Sunday, May 11, 2008 at the age of 56. Born in Fredericton, NB, he was a son of John William Richards Sr. and the late Marie Mona (Furlought) Richards. John spent his working years in the auto industry, the last 15 years with Napa Auto Parts. He was a member of the Capital Area Model Building Society as well as a very avid model builder and collector, also loved the Nascar Racing Series. Survived by his wife, Lynn (McCrea) Richards; a son, Kyle; brother, Todd of Fredericton; sister, Laura of New Maryland; mother-in-law, Martha "Dolly" McCrea of Fredericton. LA FLECHE, Paul Leon August 19, 1945 - May 10, 2008 Paul Leon La Fleche, died peacefully with his family at his side, May 10, 2008, at the Agape Hospice. Paul was born in Deloraine, MB, on August 19, 1945. He received his education in Winnipeg at Sacre Coeur School, Vincent Massey Collegiate, College St. Boniface, as well as graduating with a Bachelor of Science from the University of Manitoba. His professional life took Paul and his family to several places across Eastern Canada and to Paris, and Calgary for the last number of years. There, Paul co-founded Westcan Data and Touch Tone Data, later to be merged into XI Technologies. He was a highly skilled systems analyst, computer programmer and a technical visionary, and was highly respected by his peers and fellow workers throughout his career in the computer software industry. Paul particularly enjoyed being with his family and always animated the discussions around the supper table. He also participated in numerous long-distance cycling trips, made bread from scratch, and was an excellent pitchnut player. He was predeceased by his father and mother, Armand and Therese La Fleche. He will be deeply missed and cherished by his loving wife of thirty-nine years, Phyllis (Beaudin), daughters Nathalie (Craig Scherba) of Calgary (temporarily in Madagascar), Murielle (Brant) Inman of Rochester, MN, Caroline (Matthieu) Clouqueur of Munich, Germany, along with his beloved grandchildren: Thomas, Hannah, Olivier, Xavier, and Antoine. Moreover, he leaves his siblings: Lorraine (Dan) Coyle, Lucille (Robert) Ingram, Claudette (Ronald) Giesinger, Robert (Elaine) La Fleche, Armand (Aline) La Fleche, and Jeannette (Francois) La Fleche, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
