BELANGER, Roger 2008-03-25 Mr. Roger Germaine Belanger, age 71 years, passed away peacefully in his home on Friday, March 21, 2008. He was born June 19, 1936 in Kapuskasing, Ontario. Roger worked construction, and for 25 years as a mill worker until he started his own Safety Supply Store in Marathon, He married his sweetheart, Fern Spencer with whom he spent almost 30 years. Roger was a longtime member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 183 in Marathon. He enjoyed fixing and painting cars, building a family camp and the time there with his family and children. He enjoyed socializing at the Royalton Hotel with his buddies. Also, Roger enjoyed playing pool, poker, playing his harmonica, telling stories and jokes of all kinds. In his younger days he enjoyed curling. Roger will be sadly missed by his children: Karen (Tim) of Brampton, Michelle (Al) of Marathon, Leonard (Judy) of Thunder Bay, and Dee Dee of Thunder Bay. He will also be missed by his 9 grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives and close friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Germaine and Annette; his sisters: Collette and Carmen; and his brother-in-law Harold. Funeral Services for the late Roger Belanger will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 28th, 2008 in the Chapel of Harbourview Funeral Centre, 499 North Cumberland Street, presided by Rev. Richard Kowalchuk of Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church. Visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to the time of Service. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made in Roger‘s memory to the Thunder Bay & District Humane Society, or to the charity of your choice.

PRICE, NATHAN JOHN Mr. Nathan John Price, husband of Janice Price of 498 Storytown Road, Storytown, NB, passed away suddenly on Sunday, March 23, at his late residence, at the age of 53. Born in Fredericton, NB, he was the son of Alma Price and the late Clinton Price. He was a woods worker and a carpenter. He was a member of Carroll's Crossing Baptist Church, member of Christian Motorcycle Club and an avid Harley Davidson Biker, an avid Hockey Player and loved coaching his sons, he loved family gatherings and hunting and fishing. He served on a Missions trip to Guatemala. Besides his wife Janice and his mother Alma Price of Priceville, he is survived by his twin sons, Daniel and David, both at home; three sisters, Molly Weyman (Jack) of Fredericton; Eva Stewart (Jerry) of Carroll's Crossing; Margaret Cain (Stephen) of Presque Isle, Maine; six brothers, Allen (Duffey)(Sadie) Price of McNamee, Colburn (Judy) Price of Carroll's Crossing, Ernest (Hennie) Price of Mississauga, Ontario, George (Anna) Price of New Bandon, Douglas Price of Inuvit, Jeff (Vickie) Price of Red Deer, Alberta. Besides his father Clinton Price, he was predeceased by four brothers, Glen, Royden, Cleve and Nathan Armithee Price. Mr. Nathan John Price will be resting at Davidson's Funeral Home, 579 Main Street, Doaktown, with visitation on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. The Funeral Service will be held Friday at 2 pm from Doaktown Baptist Church, with Rev. Wilbur Matthews and Rev. Tom Townsen officiating. Burial will be in Doaktown Baptist Cemetery, later in the spring. At the request of the family, donations to NB Heart & Stroke Foundation or Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated. DAVIS, Stella Isobel It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Stella Isobel Davis (nee Morris) on March 20, 2008, surrounded by her family. She left this life with outstanding courage and love, the same way that she lived her life. Stella is the beloved mother of George Arthur Davis (Lesley, nee Bond) and Joan Isobel Davis. She was adored by her grandchildren, Jamie (Lara), Robin (Scott), Leah, Michael, Marc and Chris and her great-grandchildren; Joey, Katie, Connor, Kristyn and Charlotte. Stella was born June 23, 1920 in Brockville. She is predeceased by her loving mother, Margaret Stimson, her father, Arthur Percy Morris, her sister, Margaret and her two brothers, Charles and Edgar. She will be reunited with our father and her loving husband, George Allan Davis, who passed away, March 26, 1979. Stella was always so thankful for all that she had in life and faced life and illness with incredible grace. It has been our honour and privilege to have been fortunate enough to call her mother. A memorial service will be held in early summer for Stella, for family and friends to attend. Clifford Joseph Duncan was predeceased by his wife Ethel (Inwood) in 1997. Cherished father of Betty Wynn, Donna (Wendell) Catchpaw, Bert, Tom (Kelli Quartermain) and Judy (Greg) King. LAWSON, Lorne Peacefully at home with his family at his side on Monday, March 24, 2008 at the age of 77 years. Loving husband for fifty-three years of Sandra (McDonell). Donald Williams CAMPBELLTON, NB - It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of Donald DeVenne Williams on March 24, 2008 at the Campbellton Regional Hospital, with his daughter at his side. Don died as he lived, with courage and dignity. He was well liked and respected by all who knew him, and he was at all times a kind and quiet gentleman. He was born on October 24th, 1919 in Rivière Du Loup, QC the eldest son of Samuel Charles Williams and Elizabeth (Bessie) Pauline DeVenne. Don worked for Canadian National Railway from 1939 until his retirement in 1976. A veteran of the Second World War, Don served overseas from 1940 until 1945 with the 1st Canadian Field Squadron Royal Canadian Engineers, 5th Canadian Armoured Division in England, Italy and Holland. Following his discharge from the Army Don resumed his career with the CNR in Moncton where he met and married his beloved Margaret. Don was a past Master of the Royal Arch Chapter of the Masonic Lodge, former Worthy Patron of the Ada Chapter of the Eastern Star. Don was also an avid golfer into his 70's and also enjoyed a good fishing or hunting trip. Don is survived by his daughter, Wenda Williams-Glidden of Indian Mountain, NB (James Lyons); his grandsons, Roy Glidden of St. Albert, Alberta, Christopher Glidden (Meaghan) of Moncton as well as his greatly anticipated and soon to be born great-grandson, Seeley DeVenne Glidden; his sister, Pauline Craib of Kanata, ON; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Margaret Anna Duhy; a grandson, Andrew Glidden; a sister, Grace Jamieson (Angus) and two brothers, Stuart and Ross. It is dad's wish that there be no visitation or funeral. Cremation has taken place and a short Memorial Service and or graveside service will be held at a later date. Cedric Nison Colpitts Cedric Nison Colpitts, 69, of ProTem Health Services, with his loving family at his side, passed away peacefully at his residence on Monday, March 24, 2008. Born in Penobsquis, he was the son of the late Lloyd and Bessie (Alward) Colpitts. Cedric was a long haul truck driver with 31 years service at Springwall Sleep Products Inc. and was affiliated with St. Andrew's Anglican Church. He enjoyed bowling and had a passion for horse racing, but most importantly was his love for his family and friends. Cedric will be sadly missed by his wife of 43 years, Donna (Ferguson) Colpitts, Moncton; daughter, Christina "Tina" Morningstar (Shane), Moncton; four grandchildren, Brandon, Devin, Kyle, Regan, all at home; brother, Wayne Colpitts, Penobsquis; sister, Muriel Carpenter (James),Penobsquis; several nieces and nephews; stepmother, Irene Colpitts, Penobsquis. Bill was a proud Navy man for twenty-five years. A Korean War Veteran with three tours on the H.M.C.S. Haida. A staunch supporter of our troops and a proud Canadian. Upon moving to Trenton he became the Manager of the Quaker Frozen Food plant. Since his retirement he has enjoyed many years at the Murray Hills golf course, his beautiful flowers and his many friends. He was a very active member in the Terry Fox Foundation. Collie was born on September 5, 1913, in River Centre to the late Malcolm and Flora (MacIsaac) Campbell. Collie worked as a miner in Quebec and Ontario for many years. He was a veteran of the Second World War having served with the Governor General Foot Guards, the Grenadier Guards 22nd Canadian Armored Regiment, and the 28th Canadian Armored Regiment. He was a lifetime member of the Captain Angus L. Macdonald Branch 132, Royal Canadian Legion, Inverness. He will be greatly missed by family and friends for his many stories, great knowledge of genealogy, his love for nature, and his card playing. He is survived by sisters, Catherine Cannon, Port Hood, and Mary Jessie Beaton, St. Ninian, and caregivers with whom he lived for five years; nephew, Gerard (Claire) Beaton and their family, Brennan (Sandra), Andrew (Lindsay), Kyle and Erin; nieces and nephews and their children with whom he spent many happy times and were his family. Collie was predeceased by his brothers, Dan (Jean), John Hector (Bessie), John Angus (Christy), and Roddie (Mary Ann); his sister, Margaret (John Alex) MacDonald; brothers-in-law, Ernest Cannon and Alexander Beaton, and a sister in infancy. She was born June 6, 1925, in Belfast, Northern Ireland, to the late George and Ida (McGrath) Anderson. Her Irish heritage has left a lasting legacy. She was a loving caring mother who devoted her life to raising her family. Mom, we'll miss you. Her second passion was her dogs. She was a Canadian Kennel Club member for 40 years and bred Yorkshire Terriers under the kennel name Lavally. These little dogs touched the hearts of many. Olive was also a past treasurer of Port Maitland United Church. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Patricia was born on November 23, 1926 in Fort Frances, where she was raised and educated. She moved to Thunder Bay in 1971 where she continued to live in the family home until she moved into the Walford in 2006. Pat enjoyed her home, yard, reading, visiting with neighbours, spending time with her dog Sparky and time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed her trips to Hawaii and Florida with her very good friends. Patricia will be sadly missed by her sons: Guy (Cathy) Avis and Bill (Patti) Avis; grandson Tyler; granddaughters: Karli, Madison and Robyn. She was predeceased by her first husband Percy Avis, her second husband William Ruzyski, 2 brothers and 2 sisters. CHUBEY, Harry Walter 2008-03-25 January 13, 1935 ~ March 20, 2008 Harry will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his wife Edith; daughter Sherie (Harry) Ketterer, step-sons Gordon (Sheila) Trelnuk, Daniel (Lori) Trelnuk; step-daughters, Elizabeth McClelland, sisters-in-law Margaret Marcotte and Lillian McClelland. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Elsie Chubey; brothers-in-law James and Donald Marcotte. Harry was born in Winnipeg, MB and was raised and educated in Northwestern Ontario. He began work in the trucking industry at the age of 17 years and drove is last trip March 11-15, 2008 at the age of 73 years. He was never happier than when behind the wheel of a big rig with the open road before him. A Celebration of Harry‘s life will be held at Clandeboye Amalgamated United Church at 10:00 am on Friday, March 28th with interment to follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Clandeboye United Church Memorial Fund. Heartfelt thanks go to the Selkirk General Hospital Paramedics and Clandeboye Firehall, First Responders as well as the Emergency Room Staff at Selkirk Hospital. OBITUARY MARCELO "LOLO" OBER Peacefully in his sleep, on March 22, 2008 Marcelo ("Lolo") passed away at his residence in Montreal. Born in the Phillippines on January 17, 1926. Marcelo was a great man of many talents, from carpenter to mechanic to sous-chef. He left an impression on everyone he met. His meticulous work and his attention to detail set him apart. Marcelo was a man of adventure who had countless tales to tell. His life lessons are priceless and will live on in his family. He will be sadly missed by his family and many friends. Marcelo was predeceased by his wife, Magdalena Lopez Ober, parents Francisco Ober and Emiliana Gamboa Ober; brothers, Bonifacio and Domenico; daughter, Lorna (Ting). He is survived by his daughter, Minda (Angel); his niece, Nenita; his grandchildren, Richard (Elizabeth), Rachel (Peter), Omar (Nine), Osmond (Marley), and Olive (Ruben); great-grandchildren, Trevor Marcelo and Noah; and numerous relatives and friends in the Phillippines, Montreal, and the USA. Marcelo was the foundation of the family. His family will forever be grateful for his sacrifices and unconditional love. He will be in our hearts forever. PIPER, Beverley. March 23, 2008 at West Island Palliative Care in her fifty-fifth year, after a courageous battle with cancer, was called home to be with the Lord on Easter morning. She will be sadly missed and always remembered. COOLEN, GORDON BURTON Surrounded by family, on Sunday, March 23, 2008, at the age of 71. Loving husband of Ann, and dearest "Pops" of twin daughters Lynn and Leslie. Known affectionately as "Ga" by his granddaughter, Lauren, and "Uncle Gord" to many. Predeceased by Mother Gus and Father Bert. Survived by his sisters Lois (Chuck) Power, Shirley (Gerald) Sampson, Terry Leach and Rita Laing, and by his many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Warmly remembered by his in-laws, Paul Jozefowicz, Wendi and Don Lalonde, Philip Gerrard, Steven Gerrard, and by dear friends Carol and Doug White, and Norma Westgate. We are blessed to have had him in our lives. Gord served in the RCAF as an air frame and radar technician, and then worked in the broadcasting industry with CJOH and Algonquin College. He will be remembered for his kind heart, his love for a good laugh, life's simple things, and his story-telling. Thank you to Margot Sampson for her music during Gord's last few months, and to Cecile Sampson for her supportive words.
