HOSSACK, GLORIA IZELLA The passing of Gloria Izella (Ross) Hossack, wife of the late Roy Hossack of Fredericton, occurred on March 1, 2008 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital in Fredericton. Born in Holtville on September 4, 1937, Gloria was a daughter of the late Harold and Gladys (Lyons) Ross. Gloria is survived by three sons, Billy (Brenda), Wayne (Shirley) and Dale, all of Fredericton, NB; three daughters, Donna (Jean-Marc) Doucet, Angela (Gerald) Grasse, both of Fredericton, NB and Paula Bulger (Claude Ringuette) of Burton, NB; two brothers, Buddy (Olga) Ross of Boiestown, NB and Murray (Rachel) Ross of Fredericton, NB; five sisters, Rowena (Winston) Hunter of Fredericton, Pauline Urquhart of Taymouth, NB, Brenda (Bobby) Sparks, Ruth Betts and Daisy (Chuck) Gillis, all of BC; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, Gloria was predeceased by a sister, Christina Beers. Although there will be no visitation, a family graveside service will take place at the Williamsburg Community Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of donors choice and would be appreciated by the family. March 03, 2008

HILL, DONALD FREDERICK It is with sadness that the family of Donald Frederick Hill announces his passing at the Palliative Care Unit of the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on March 1, 2008. Born in Nashwaaksis on April 23, 1932, he was the son of the late Raymond and Lillian (Tyler) Hill and husband to his loving wife of 58 years, Lois (Graham). Don was a well known Fredericton builder and developer for many years - through his business ventures - Donald Hill Homes Ltd, Nashwaaksis Realty and Razen Realty. Besides his wife, Don is survived by four daughters, Debbie (Jim) Hudson, Cathy (Fred) Steeves, Wendy (Gordon) Thornton and Tami (Dave Dunbar); three sons, Terry (Jackie), Kim (Darrell Brewer) and Graham (Lori). He is also survived by 17 grandchildren; Mike (Holly) Hudson, Mark (Maureen Horne) Hudson, Karen Hudson, Tracey (Mark Moulton) Hill, Terry-Ann (Jim) Melanson, Jason Hill, Raena (Brian Jones) Steeves, Peter (Tracy) Steeves, Vicki (Dean) Orser, Christopher Thornton, Justin (Melissa) Hill, Julie (Andrew) Kilfillen, Jared Hill, Chelsey Merrithew, Marlea-Rae Merrithew, Trent Hill and Courtney Hill. In addition to his wife, children and grandchildren, Don is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren; Zachary, Tanner, Devon, Morgan, Cameron, Kayla, Forest, River, Danielle, Andrew, Ethan, Grace, Fallon, Alexander and Jakob and also by numerous nieces and nephews. Surviving also is Don's only remaining sibling, a sister, Norma Elliott of Fredericton and Florida. Don is also survived by three special aunts whom he loved dearly, Gladys White of Niagara Falls, ON, Thelma (Bill) Innis of Bobcageon, ON and Rita (Donald ("Dig")) Gorman of Toronto, ON. In addition to his parents, Don was predeceased by two sisters, Marjorie Ferris and Joan Hill; his brother, Larry; and his devoted grandparents, Charles and Margaret Hill. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton on Monday, March 3, 2008 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place from York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at 2 pm with Rev. Barry Craig officiating. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Michael and Mark Hudson, Peter Steeves, Chris Thornton and Trent Hill. Interment will take place at a later date. SHORT, Robert C. - Passed away on February 29th , 2008, at St. Catharines General Hospital at the age of 82. Survived by wife Ruth. Beloved grandfather of Robert, Heather, Kaitlin, Alexandros, Amy, Paul, and Andeas. A graduate of U.T.S. and the University of Toronto, “Bob“ signed on as a Boy Soldier at the age of 17 with the Royal Canadian Artillery. He served overseas in World War II in Holland and Germany. He began his post-war career in the electrical equipment industry, advancing to President of Edwards Company. He later served as President of the Canadian Cable Television Association, Vice President of Canada Wire and Cable, and Deputy Chairman of CUC Broadcasting. One of his proudest career achievements was, as its founding President in 1967, overseeing the growth of St. Lawrence College from a concept, to three campuses. He continued to work well past normal retirement age as a consultant in the telecommunications field. He will be fondly remembered by friends and relatives as the consummate host and raconteur, and by his many business associates as a leader of great integrity, ethics, and vision. KLASSEN, John Cornelius John Cornelius Klassen, born March 13, 1922 in Steinfeld, Russia and immigrated to Manitoba in 1926. In his 93rd year, he was the dearly loved husband of Dorothy Lillian Barker for 65 years. Il était un vétéran de la guerre de l’armée américaine et a reçu plusieurs certificats et médailles d’honneur pour son service au Vietnam. Il n’y aura pas de visites au salon funéraire. Outre son époux Jean-Marc, la défunte laisse dans le deuil ses enfants: Yvon (Fatima Barreiro), Francine (Pascal Fortin), Jean-Paul (Marie-France Hurdle) et ses petits-enfants: Cédric Deslauriers, Michaël Deslauriers Godin, Mélanie Deslauriers, Zéna Dubé, Sarah Barsalou. Elle était la soeur de feu Réal (Réjeanne Roy), Lise (Marcel Girard), Jean-Luc (Lise Chagnon), Diane (Fernand Larrivée). KEEP, Stephen - On Saturday, March 1, 2008, after a life well lived, but too short, of 67 years, Stephen left us. He was born with a defective heart. After several heart surgeries and strokes, his body was just worn out. His life was enriched with family, friends, his much loved century farm home, pets and his cars. His love of antique and classic cars began with his Ford Model A and soon he married a gal with a 66 Mustang Convertible. He could be found smiling at all local car shows from spring to fall. During the winter he could be seen riding his snowmobile with friends. Steve has brightened the lives of so many with his quick wit, huge smile and gentle big blue eyes. Left with a lifetime of great memories are: his wife of 40 years, Cheryl, their daughter, Jacqueline, husband Chad and grandson Christopher. Steve had two brothers, John (2000) and Doug-Evelyn of London, as well as a sister-in-law Marvenna Hodgins of Kuna, Idaho. There are also numerous nieces, nephews, great neighbours, good friends and many other family members in various parts of this wonderful world. Cremation has taken place. Relatives and friends will be received at the VAN HECK FUNERAL HOME, 172 Symes St., Glencoe on Thursday, March 6th from 1-3 and 7-9 p.m. A memorial service and celebration of Steve's life will be held at Steve and Cheryl's home in the spring. SMALL, Nellie C. Kay (nee Larson) Past President of the Rotary Club of Ottawa "Rotary Annes" After 90 years of good health and happiness Nell, our Mom and Granny, has passed away on February 28, 2008. She will be remembered with love and wonderful memories by her son David D. Small (Michiko), her daughter Nancy Smith (Hugh), grandchildren David R. Small (Mariane), Duncan Small, Christie Smith (Dale Hooper) and Jennifer Smith. Her great grandsons Thomas Matthew Hooper and David Kenneth Small brought her great joy in her final year. Nell was predeceased by her husband David R. Small, her second husband Arthur Kay and her cherished friend Dr. Cam Derby. Nell loved golf and was a longtime member of the Rivermead and Lombard Glen Golf Clubs. She enjoyed playing Bridge with her friends at the Stillwater Retirement Community. Nell was a caring and loving woman with a wonderful sense of humour and beautiful smile who will be deeply missed by her entire family. KUTOK,Inge Margarete 2008-03-03 Mrs. Inge Margarete Kutok, age 77 years, resident of Roseview Manor, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Saturday, March 1, 2008 in TBRHSC. Inge was born on November 13, 1930 in Elbing, Germany. She came to Canada in 1952, and worked for the family business of Lakehead Photo and later the City of Thunder Bay as a dietary aide at Dawson Court and Pioneer Ridge before retiring in 1995. Inge enjoyed needlepoint, knitting, reading and bingo. Time spent with her family was important to her, and the love of her grandchildren was treasured. She loved animals and "adopted" the house cat at Roseview Manor. Inge is survived by her 3 children Eric (Patrizia), Peter (Angela) and Ingrid Berlinquette (Wayne); grandchildren Jessica, Mitchell, Cameron, Jill, Aimee and Jordan; sisters Kristine Depkat of Calgary, Alberta and Gisela Depkat of Hamilton, Ontario. She is predeceased by her husband Erich Kutok (1981); parents Albert and Margarete and sister Marianne Christowzik. Funeral services for the late Mrs. Inge Kutok will be held on Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at 1:00 PM in the EVEREST FUNERAL CHAPEL, 299 Waverley St. at Algoma. with Rev. Joyce Hannaford officiating. Gabrielle Cormier 1924 - 2008 Gabrielle Cormier, nee Chiasson, passed away suddenly in her home on the 29th February 2008 at the age of 83. Born on December 6th, 1924 in Edmunston NB, the daughter of the late Alphonse Chiasson and Marie-Louise Blanchard, she is survived by her daughter, Simone (Lorne) Preston, her sons, Gregoire (Kathy), Julien and Gaetan. Six beloved grand children Deny, Nicole, Renée, Danielle, Liselle and Benjamin, and a great grand son Louka. In her own family she was predeceased by sisters, Hermance, Alberte, Georgette and Gaetane. Also passed away before her, were brothers, Gilles, Jean Charles and Rodrigue. In keeping with Gabrielle's wishes there will be no visitation. A memorial service for family and close friends will be held at a later date.
