WILCOX, Edward Ralph Jr. WILCOX, Edward Ralph Jr. - 75, Windsor, Hants Co., passed away peacefully Sunday, February 17, 2008, in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Edward was born on April 4, 1932, in Bay Roberts, N.L., and was the son of the late Edward and Annie (Titford) Wilcox. He is survived by sons, Carl, Windsor; A. Bruce, Haliburton, Ont.; Kerry, Halifax; daughters, Susan (Wendell) McMullen, Oakville, Ont.; Barbara (Brent) McMullen, Shubenacadie; Donna (Kim) Benedict, Halifax; sister, Fanny Moore, Hantsport; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Edward was predeceased by his wife, the former Frances Coffill and sister, Dorothy Moore. Edward worked for a few years at Minas Basin Pulp and Power and then went on to drive a cement truck for many years. He enjoyed watching hockey and baseball and playing cards. He had a great sense of humour and enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was also a member of the Windsor Legion. Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to Lohnes Funeral Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317), where the family will receive visitors 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, February 20. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Thursday, February 21, in Lohnes Funeral Service Chapel, Rev. Bill Gibson officiating. A reception will be held following the service in the funeral home's Elmcroft Reception Centre. Burial will take place at a later date. AITCHISON, Alex Lee - Alex was born September 25, 2007, passed away on February 16, 2008. This beautiful angel was a loving son to Stephen and Justine, cherished grandson to Barry and Patricia and great grandson to Ethel McCann and the late Harry McCann. Alex will be dearly missed by his Uncle Chris, Uncle Jose Fernando, Aunt Paulina, God Father Jim as well as his many cousins, other family and dear friends. Alex was predeceased by his paternal grandmother Mary Lee Godfrey who passed away June 2006. Alex was born at Kingston General Hospital where he remained in the care of their wonderful NICU Staff until late November when he finally went home and was cared for by his loving father Stephen. Although Alex was only in this world for four months he touched the hearts of everyone who met him and has left a life-time of beautiful memories. HIGGINSON, Louisa Frank Pattee (nee Holtby) - Died peacefully on February 15, 2008 at Fairhaven in her 94th year after a 10 year struggle with Alzheimer's disease. Beloved wife of the late John William Higginson (d. 1991). Louisa and John led a square dancing group in Peterborough for many years. They enjoyed summers at Rock Island on Mississauga Lake. They were active members of George Street United Church and supporters of the Kiwanis Music Festival. Doris, also known as “Petrolia Grandma”, will be sadly missed by her Great Grandchildren, Courtney, Nicholas, Ainsley, Vanessa and Brandon. Doris was the feisty sister of the late Sam Knight, Bill Knight, Wilbur Knight and Marie (Knight) Booker. HILBORN, William Harvey - The death of William H. Hilborn occurred at his residence at the Veterans Health Unit, Fredericton, NB on Friday, February 15th, 2008. Born in Guelph, Ontario on March 27th, 1921, he was the son of the late William and Grace (Clark) Hilborn and husband of the late Mildred Bernice (Smith) Hilborn. William served in World War II as a radar technician with the R.C.A.F. and was a retired Professor of Forestry at the University of New Brunswick. He spent many years as a volunteer with local Boy Scouts and School Boy Hockey associations. Survived by his son, William Hilborn Jr. (Francesca) of Victoria, BC; his two daughters, Susan E. Burns (Richard P.) of Fredericton and J. Jane Hilborn (Nabil) of Beaconsfield, PQ as well as five grandchildren, Kate and David Hilborn, Jane Burns and Martin and Lauren Belouni. He was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Mildred; as well as his sister, Mary Hilborn Smith. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation for the extra special care and attention provided to our father by the staff at the Veterans Health Unit. Theresa Funkenhauser, age 82, beloved wife of the late Paul Funkenhauser (October 12, 2007) was born in Hungary in 1925. She was the daughter of the late Theresia Apazeller and John Grundner of Harrow, and the sister of the late John Grundner Jr. of Harrow. Loving mother of Herb Funkenhauser and his wife Janice of Windsor and Rolf Funkenhauser of Chatham, she will be sadly missed by her grandchildren: Kurt, Kyle and Dana. Theresa was a member of St. Joseph's Parish and the Catholic Women's League. She was wonderfully cared for at Riverview Gardens during the past year.
